  • Patent number: 5233746
Abstract: The invention is directed to an electric shaving apparatus having a housing 1 and a shaving head 2 mounted so as to be pivotal relative to the housing 1 about a pivotal axis Z, having an outer cutter 36 and an inner cutter 31 operatively associated with the outer cutter 36 and driven by a motor, and further having an actuating switch 4 which is provided on the housing 1 and is equipped with a control device for displacing at least one slidably mounted control element 33 which engages in the pivot area 10 of the shaving head 2, limits the pivotal movement of the shaving head 2, and is guided along a cam path 13. The cam path 13 is integrally formed in the shaving head 2 such that, on displacement of the actuating switch 4 into an Off position, the shaving head 2 is forced into a mid-position in which it is capable of being locked.

  • Patent number: 5234147
Abstract: A vertically moveable upper receiver is suspended on the machine by spring means and has a central vertical cavity therethrough. A pair of opposed springs bias together jaws in the receiver having aligned notches therein which receive the part. The upper tool or punch descends through the cavity, engages the part, drives it out of its notches and downward against the inward pressure of the jaws, the receiver descending through this operation, and the part arrives precisely centered at the setting locus.

  • Patent number: 5233748
Abstract: An oval mat cutter allows the continuous adjustment of the overall size of the oval as well as the difference between its larger and smaller axes. The cutter may also produce circles. The cutter separates the knife from a first point which it keeps in a first groove. It separates this first point from a second point which it keeps in a second groove lying perpendicular to the first. A generally circular motion of the cutter while maintaining the two points in their respective grooves creates the desired oval. Making the two points in their respective groove coincide with each other will result in the production of a circle. The knife that makes the actual cut sits next to a wheel whose outer circumference has a sharp ridge. The knife has configurations where it extends to various distances beyond the edge of the wheel and one in which it sits within the wheel's circumference. To make a clean cut, the wheel, with the knife retracted, makes a groove in the mat.

  • Patent number: 5232169
Abstract: A planetary ball mill in which a plurality of mill pots revolve by receiving a rotational force from a main shaft, while rotating on their own axes. A feed is continuously supplied to the mill pots so that ground particles are discharged out of the mill pots utilizing air flow. A partition for dividing a grinding chamber from a discharge pipe is disposed on the discharge side of the chamber of each mill pot so as to permit only the feed already ground to pass through. The feed having passed through the partition is collected by way of a discharge chute not rotating but surrounding a discharge pipe which rotates relative to the discharge chute to generate a negative pressure which assists the discharge of ground feed from each mill pot.

  • Patent number: 5232142
Abstract: A paper binding apparatus such as staplers in the form of a thin, compact device employing pre-formed U-shaped staples where the staples are pushed through the papers by pressure applied directly by a hand pressing one of the stapler bars. The stapler enables a reduction in size of the stapler's dimensions, in particular its width, so that its width would be determined only by the thickness of the magazine. The stapler is based on performing the "stapling operation" in two steps. Initially, the stapler is closed and the magazine is parallel to the direction of the moving driving mechanism. The second stage, the operational one is that at which the magazine becomes perpendicular to the direction of movement of the driving mechanism.

  • Patent number: 5230150
Abstract: A tubing cutter comprising a pair of arms pivotally connected together adjacent one end, with the opposite ends of the arms free. Such opposite end of one of the arms has thereon a rotatably mounted cutting wheel, and upon the opposite end of the other of the arms at least one roller is utilized, in opposed operative relationship to the cutting wheel. A tightening arrangement, preferably in the form of a finger operated wheel mounted on a dually threaded shaft, is utilized for enabling the user to draw the free ends of the arms together, so as to force the cutting wheel into cutting contact with a piece of tubing placed between the rotary cutter and the rollers. Thus, upon relative rotation occurring between the cutting wheel and the tubing, the severing of the tubing can be readily brought about. Preferably a spring bias arrangement is utilized, which serves to assist the tube severing procedure by biasing the cutting wheel into firm contact with the tubing to be cut.
