  • Patent number: 9075554
Abstract: In a communication system, an image forming apparatus sends an address of a receiving section to a mobile terminal. The mobile terminal receives a selection of an image data among plural thumbnails displayed on a display section, and wirelessly sends the selected image data to the image forming apparatus with the address. The image forming apparatus receives the selected image data sent with the address by the mobile terminal, and prints an image based on the selected image data. A communication between the mobile terminal and the image forming apparatus is performed wirelessly with an IEEE 802.11 standard. The image forming apparatus rejects a connection establishment request from another mobile terminal except for the mobile terminal, when the wireless communication with the mobile terminal is established.

  • Patent number: 9066037
Abstract: A threshold generation device sets a ratio of a length along a main scanning direction to a length along a sub-direction based on a relation between image reproducibility in the main scanning direction and image reproducibility in the sub-direction of an image processing device for forming an image on a paper based on an image data obtained by the halftone processing. The device determines spatial frequency characteristics having a domain of an ellipse shape having set major axis and minor axis as peak values. The device sets a threshold value of each pixel of the threshold matrix in accordance with the determined spatial frequency characteristics.

  • Patent number: 9047541
Abstract: In an example implementation, a processor-readable medium stores code representing instructions that when executed by a processor cause the processor to retrieve a unique printer identification (ID) over a short-range wireless communication (e.g., NFC) between a mobile device and a public printer. The processor discovers a current geographic location of the mobile device from GPS technology on the mobile device. The processor then uploads the unique printer ID and the geographic location to a cloud-based print service provider.

  • Patent number: 9030713
Abstract: Provided is a data processing method that is capable of high-speed processing without using a large cache memory, while correlating 2-dimensional parameters with a plurality of data without damaging the arrangement rule. Therefore, when there is a continuing M-line parameter after a previously read M-line parameter in a 2-dimensional table that is stored in an external memory 406, the contents of the cache memory 404 are updated with this continuing M-line parameter as the new parameter. When there is no continuing M-line parameter after the previously read M-line parameter in the 2-dimensional table, the contents of the cache memory 404 are updated with the continuing M-line parameter after returning to the starting line of the 2-dimensional table as the new parameter. Such an update rule is maintained even when the band, which is the processing unit, is changed, or even in the progress of band processing.
