Abstract: A wound dressing apparatus includes a wound dressing member dimensioned for positioning relative to a wound bed. The wound dressing member including an internal vacuum reservoir and has a port in communication with the vacuum reservoir for applying subatmospheric pressure to the vacuum reservoir to facilitate removal of fluid from the wound bed. The wound dressing member includes a visual pressure indicator associated therewith for indicating a level of pressure within the vacuum reservoir. The visual pressure indicator includes color indicia having a plurality of colors corresponding to a condition of the pressure within the vacuum reservoir. The wound dressing member includes a lower absorbent member positionable adjacent the wound bed and an upper member which at least partially defines the vacuum reservoir. Abstract: Embodiments of negative pressure wound therapy systems and methods are disclosed. In one embodiment, an apparatus includes a wound dressing, negative pressure source, user interface, sensor, and control circuitry. The user interface can receive an activation input. The sensor can detect whether the wound dressing is positioned over a wound. The control circuitry can cause supply of negative pressure in response to receipt of the activation input and a determination that the sensor detects that the wound dressing is positioned over the wound. In addition, the control circuitry can prevent supply of negative pressure in response to a determination that the sensor does not detect that the wound dressing is positioned over the wound.

Abstract: An external male catheter comprising an inner drainage sheath configured to unrolled and fitted over a penis like a condom, and an attached outer suction sheath configured to be unrolled over the fitted drainage sheath. A one-way drainage port extends from the inner drainage sheath through the outer suction sheath in fluid-tight manner, and a one-way suction port extends from the outer suction sheath. Suction is selectively applied to both the drainage and suction ports as the catheter is applied, in order to assist with fitting and retention of the catheter.
Abstract: An occlusion clearing device for a patient has a housing with a motor(s) that generates repetitive motion, which is reciprocating, rotational or both. A clearing stem including a sheath that has a lumen, wherein aspiration is conducted through the sheath lumen. A wire is located in the sheath lumen and receives repetitive motion from the controller. The sheath terminates in a sheath end having at least one sheath opening. The wire terminates in a wire tip, which may be flat, helical, or tubular. The wire tip is positioned within the sheath end, in proximity to the sheath opening(s), and movement of the wire tip and/or sheath end relative to each other creates shearing forces that break up an adjacent occlusion.

Abstract: A post-partum undergarment system including a brief having a pad and a compression member with a first-wing and a second-wing. The pad is integral to the brief and disposed on an inner layer of the brief in an interspace between the leg holes. The first-wing and the second-wing are configured to wrap around an abdominal region of a woman and secure the compression member in a wrapped-condition. The compression member causes direct compression to the abdominal region of the woman when the brief is worn. The brief is absorbent and disposable for use in postpartum stages.

Abstract: An implantable amina cribrosa crossing pressure balance maintainer for constantly balancing the lamina cribrosa crossing pressure difference, an implantation device, and a method for balancing the lamina cribrosa crossing pressure difference. The lamina cribrosa crossing pressure balance maintainer is placed at the lamina cribrosa to balance the lamina cribrosa crossing pressure difference so as to enable the deformed lamina cribrosa to recover or even reverse deformation, so that the tolerance of glaucoma patients to intraocular hypertension is improved, nerve damage caused by the lamina cribrosa crossing pressure difference is relieved and reduced, and primary factors of the glaucoma optic nerve damage are eliminated. New ideas are provided for the treatment of the glaucoma in the middle and advanced periods.
