The manual-up/down fixed contacts are nearer to the earth fixed contact than the automatic-up/down fixed contacts. The earth fixed contact is designed so that side portions of the earth fixed contact which are near to the manual-up/down fixed contacts are concaved with respect to side portions near to the automatic-up/down fixed contacts.

The two-way key as configured above can construct a key capable of operating in two ways while taking a small space so that it contributes to the compact size of the terminal. Further, if the two-way key is employed in the watch-type portable terminal, the operating scheme is identical to that of a spring of a common analog wrist watch or a time control lever, so that it is familiar to a user and thus it is convenient for a user to use.

Accordingly, if the drive cam rotates in a counter-clockwise direction, normally-closed contacts of a contact section adopt an open condition normally, and even in situations where the actuator is withdrawn from the switch main unit with a force equal to or greater than the fracture strength of the safety switch, withdrawal of the actuator from the switch main unit can be detected in a sure and reliable manner.
