  • Patent number: 7541553
Abstract: An actuating device is provided for a technical system, especially for selecting gears of a shift-by-wire speed-change gear. This includes a push button arrangement with at least one push button (1) as well as a device (4) generating electrical control signals for transmission to the technical system. The actuating device has a separately controllable blocking device (2, 3), each associated with at least one push button or all push buttons of the actuating device. The blocking device (2, 3) mechanically blocks the particular push button (1) and can be driven by auxiliary energy. This provides an unambiguous tactile feedback on the state of the system or the admissibility of the shifting operation when the push buttons are pressed. Hazards that arise from unrecognized states of the system, inadmissible shift commands or operating errors, defects on the system or non-functioning signal transmission between the actuating device and the system are eliminated.

  • Patent number: 7534974
Abstract: A slide switch (100) comprises a housing (1), a plurality of stationary contacts (2) embedded in the housing, a slide member (4) moveably contained in the housing, a moveable contact (3) fixed to the slide member, and a cover (5) attached to the housing. The housing comprises a bottom surface (10) and a plurality of side surfaces (11) therearound, and said bottom surface and side surfaces cooperatively define a cavity. The moveable contact is fixed to said slide member to be connected to and disconnected from said stationary contacts. Each end of the housing defines a pair of protrusions (131) at upper portions of two lateral sides thereof, and therefore a channel is formed between said two protrusions. A pair of recesses (133) is defined below the protrusions respectively, and the recesses are recessed into the side surface of the end/channel.

  • Patent number: 7528335
Abstract: A light assembly for interiors of motor vehicles and the like includes a three-way sliding switch having a switch member that is movable to at least three positions corresponding to operating states of the switch. The switch includes an electrically conductive movable contact member that selectively engages conductive members to provide the different electrical states of the switch. The movable contact member also engages a detent structure and forms a three-position detent tending to retain the switch member in the selected position. Thus, the electrically conductive material of the movable contact member provides an electrical function and a mechanical detent function to thereby reduce the complexity and associated cost of the switch.
