Patent number: 7507923Abstract: A low profile switch assembly is provided having a base portion that supports a folded flexible circuit sealed about its edges, an overlying deformable elastomeric portion, and a pair of window knobs. The base portion has a pair of integrally formed, upwardly extending posts that pivotally support the window knobs and encourage alignment of the flexible circuit and the overlying elastomeric pad. A series of domes are formed in the elastomeric pad, pairs of which are operated sequentially by the window knob acting on a lever bridging the pairs of domes. The domes, when collapsed, compress portions of the flexible circuit to bridge opposing traces within the folded circuit to actuate respective switches. The arrangement of the components provides a low profile device that inhibits contamination and uses fewer parts.Type: GrantFiled: December 1, 2006Date of Patent: March 24, 2009Assignee: Omron Dualtec Automotive Electronics Inc.Inventors: Farzad Azizi, Christopher Larsen, Darren Rest

Patent number: 7488906Abstract: A steering switch device has an operation member to be operated on a steering wheel of a vehicle. An operation condition of the operation member is controlled by a control unit when the steering wheel is rotated. The operation member is for example a cylindrical member and disposed operable in a rotation manner. When the steering switch is rotated, a rotating operation of the cylindrical operation member is restricted by the control unit. Alternatively, the rotating operation of the operation member is controlled to be loaded. In a case that the operation member is a button member for indicating a direction, a pressing operation of the button member is controlled so as not to be pressed or to be loaded by the control unit when the steering wheel is rotated.Type: GrantFiled: September 15, 2006Date of Patent: February 10, 2009Assignee: DENSO CORPORATIONInventors: Kiyotaka Taguchi, Masaru Sawaki, Tetsuya Enokizaka, Tsuneo Uchida

Patent number: 7485822Abstract: Disclosed is a key sheet efficiently diffusing local heat generated by a device mounted on a board. A key sheet has a base sheet formed of a rubber-like elastic material in which a heat conductive filler is mixed. Thus, if a semiconductor device on a board generates heat, it is possible to suppress local heat storage by the heat conductive filler of the base sheet. Further, there is no need to provide a separate member for heat diffusion between the board and the key sheet, making it possible to realize a reduction in thickness. Thus, with the key sheet, it is possible to meet the requirement for heat diffusion to eliminate local heat storage in electronic apparatuses, and the requirement for a reduction in the thickness and weight of electronic apparatuses.Type: GrantFiled: October 12, 2006Date of Patent: February 3, 2009Assignee: Polymatech Co., Ltd.Inventors: Shigeru Koyano, Yutaka Nakanishi, Motoki Ozawa

Patent number: 7465889Abstract: According to the present invention, there is provided a pushbutton switch cover sheet providing a unique design. A pushbutton switch cover sheet is provided with an operation plate of metal or hard resin having dividing grooves defining depressing operation members capable of displacement through depression. Therefore, there is no need to provide the casing of the apparatus with a frame defining key tops, making it possible to impart a novel design to the apparatus. The operation plate is formed as a thin plate, so it is possible to reduce a thickness of the apparatus as a whole. Further, the dividing grooves are provided with in-groove protrusions protruding into the dividing grooves and groove filling members fixed to the groove inner side surfaces and formed of a rubber-like elastic material, thereby making it possible to provide a pushbutton switch cover sheet of a high level of safety in which there is no fear of fingers being injured by the dividing grooves.Type: GrantFiled: April 20, 2006Date of Patent: December 16, 2008Assignee: Polymatech Co., Ltd.Inventors: Daisuke Nakajima, Junko Hosaka
