Abstract: Embodiments of systems and methods for analyzing and visualizing data are described. Data from third party data sources can be collected, parsed, and analyzed to generate graphical elements that can help visualize the analyzed data. These graphical elements can be displayed on remote user computing devices to enable users of the system to visualize the analyzed data.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and devices can allow applications to provide complication data to be displayed in a complication of a watch face. A client application can create a complication data object according to a template to efficiently select how the complication data is to be displayed. For example, a complication controller on the watch can receive new data and determine which template to use. The complication data object can be sent to a display manager that can identify the selected template and display the data according to the template.

Abstract: An electronic device is described that displays and enables interaction with custom user interface (“UI”) elements. The electronic device may include a display, an actuatable button, and controls enabling user selection of individual custom UI elements. The device may determine a category of custom UI elements to display based on geolocation data, previous interactions with custom UI elements, user preferences, or other information, and may display a custom UI elements from the category. When the button is actuated, the electronic device causes an action associated with the displayed custom UI element to be performed. The electronic device may additionally display details regarding the action to be performed, status information regarding a previously performed action, or other related information.

Abstract: A system and method for creating a virtual world conferencing experience wherein a first set of real world emissive surfaces and content thereon is replicated on virtual world emissive surfaces where the virtual world emissive surfaces are juxtaposed in a virtual world instance at locations and in orientations that replicate the juxtapositions in the real world arrangement and where the virtual world instance is presented on a second set of real world emissive surfaces at a virtual world workstation where the second set of emissive surfaces are arranged differently than the first set of real world surfaces.

Abstract: A method for operating an operator control system, in which graphics data of a graphical user interface are produced, wherein the graphical user interface has a user interface extent along a first direction and a display unit displays a detail of the graphical user interface, wherein the detail has a detail extent along the first direction. The operator control system has at least two states, wherein each state has an associated specific detail of the graphical user interface. When one of the at least two states of the operator control system is activated, the detail of the graphical user interface associated with the activated state is displayed, and a state information element is actuated so the activated state of the operator control system is output. The state information element includes an outline of a geometric figure and the activated state is a basis for highlighting a segment of the outline.

Abstract: Embodiments for manipulating an object, such as an image, are described. For example, a content application renders the object and supports multiple manipulation modes. A GUI of the application is available at a touch screen of a computing device. A mapping of standard touch screen gestures and object manipulations are defined for each manipulation mode. One of the modes is a standard manipulation mode that supports standard object manipulations. At least one other mode is a special manipulation mode. In this special mode, the standard user gestures are mapped to application-defined manipulations that are different from the standard object manipulations. Based on a user selection of one of the manipulation modes, the selected mode is activated. While in the activated manipulation mode, a standard user gesture is received and the relevant object manipulation is applied to the object.

Abstract: According to one or more embodiments of the present invention, a computer-implemented method includes detecting an initiation of a user interaction and in response, determining one or more user interface elements displayed on a display, a first user interface element being at a first position on the display. The method further includes, based on determining a completion of the user interaction at the first position on the display, selecting the first user interface element based on a determination that a second user interface element is rendered at the first position, the second user interface element being rendered at the first position between the initiation and the completion of the user interaction.

Abstract: Content is presented to a user in reaction to the user generating content on an online system, such as a social networking system. A user with a role associated with a page provides content to the system to deliver to users of the system. The social networking system generates a content item based on the provided content, and can associate that content with the page or entity associated with the page. After generating the content item, the system presents reaction content items to the user. Reaction content items contain content that is useful and relevant to the user regarding the content that the user has created or regarding future content. The system determines a measure of relevance of the eligible reaction content items and displays reaction content items to the user based on the measure of relevance determined for each reaction content item.

Abstract: In one general aspect, an interactive event-based information system is disclosed that includes an event-based data store for storing information about events selectively extracted from a plurality of machine-readable information sources. A live feed extraction interface is responsive to the event-based data store and has a feed publication output operative to publish a live feed of selected information about events. A live event feed user interface includes a live feed display interface operative to present a succession of visual information elements corresponding to events covered in the live event feed, and a drill-down interface responsive to user interaction to provide access to further information about the information elements from the data store.
