Abstract: The present disclosure relates to identifying a product or service in a store and offering to sell products and services that the customer can purchase in that store. Methods and apparatus consistent with the present disclosure allow retail stores to provide real-time information to their customers about products and/or services that may complement another product that a customer is interested in purchasing. A portable electronic device, such as a cell phone, may receive wirelessly transmitted communications from wireless transmitters that are associated with products and services that the customer approaches, touches, or scans.

Abstract: Social network postings, including text, images or other media, may provide valuable information regarding a user of the social network with which the postings may be associated. With the authorization of the user, and upon authentication by the social network, an online marketplace may access the social network postings and extract data therefrom, and market one or more recommended items to the user based on the extracted data, which may include color pallets or texture pallets derived from photographs included in the postings.

Abstract: Virtual environment arrangement and configuration techniques are described. In one example, virtualization techniques are employed to generate a virtual environment as implemented via a virtual reality platform by one or more computing devices. The virtual environment includes virtual stores arranged along virtual streets. Virtual digital content is included in the stores, such as to initiate conversion of a good or service represented by the content. Configuration of the virtual environment is based on user, provider, and/or machine learning inputs.

Abstract: Disclosed is a system and method for providing, accessing, monitoring and updating content on an e-commerce platform. The platform may have different user interfaces for consultants who act on behalf of an entity to market a product provided by the entity, and for prospects who are interested in learning more about the product, purchase the product and/or become part of the team to market the product. The consultants may upload digital content to the platform via their dedicated consultant interface and the prospects may access the digital content on the platform via their dedicated prospect interfaces. Contents of the prospect webpage and how the prospects interacts with their prospect webpage may be monitored. The contents of the prospect webpage may be updated, automatically or by the consultant associated with that prospect, based on the monitoring.

Abstract: A computer system and the computer-implemented method of generating and providing haircare product recommendations to a subject. The method comprises determining, by a computing device, an exposure amount of a pollutant impacting a subject's hair; determining, by the computing device, a damage assessment of the subject's hair based on the type of pollutant and amount of pollutant exposure; and providing, by the computing device, at least one haircare product recommendation to the subject, wherein the recommendation is directed to repair damage to the hair provided in the damage assessment.

Abstract: A system and method are provided for transacting data on a network. The system includes a data submission interface, the data submission interface configured to enable one or more data generators to register data with the network, the data being stored in a location accessible to data consumers accessing the network. The system also includes a data consumer interface to enable one or more data consumers to find data on the network and transact with the one or more data generators to obtain access to and/or ownership of data submitted to the network. The system also includes a blockchain network for storing at least a ledger associated with data registered with the network via the data submission interface to provide an immutable assignment of ownership rights of the data to the respective one or more data generators, and to provide an immutable record of data transactions.

Abstract: An item recommendation control platform is disclosed. The item recommendation control platform presents an administrative user one or more user interfaces at which recommendation rules may be defined. Each of the recommendation rules may be associated with one or more nodes within a retail website, such as an item detail page or an item category page. The recommendation rules may be selected, defined, and prioritized, such that one or more item recommendation rules may be reflected within a given item recommendation presented on a retail website. The item recommendation rules can include one or more filters, the filters controlling which items may be recommended to a given user based, for example, on item availability or shipping availability.

Abstract: A method to display an illustration to conduct an expedited electronic transaction is provided. Consumer identification information identifying a consumer is received. The consumer identification information is stored in association with a web browser of a consumer's device. A customized illustration is displayed based on the received consumer identification information on the consumer's device. A request is received for the expedited electronic transaction by swiping the customized illustration across a portion of the display of the consumer's device. Transaction data sufficient to complete the electronic transaction is sent to the merchant based on the swipe of the customized illustration across display of the consumer's device.

Abstract: A server includes a management information DB that stores management information indicating whether or not each of a plurality of vehicles falls under a subject vehicle for which battery replacement timing is managed. An information processing apparatus of the server includes an estimator that estimates a degree of deterioration of a secondary battery mounted on the subject vehicle based on history information showing history of use of the secondary battery mounted on the subject vehicle and a notification unit that transmits a battery replacement alarm (a notification signal that gives a notification about battery replacement timing of the subject vehicle) when the estimated degree of deterioration of the secondary battery reaches a prescribed threshold value.

Receiving, at the server from one of the user devices, a subsequent request, the subsequent request identifying one of the tickets previously transmitted to that user device. Determining that the identified one of the tickets should be accepted and the subsequent request should be serviced.

Abstract: Some embodiments described herein relate to a computer-implemented method that includes receiving an indication of text content and an indication of image content appearing on a webpage that offers a product for sale. A first trained machine learning classifier can be applied to the text content to produce a first classification of the product. A second trained machine learning classifier can be applied to the image content to produce a second classification. A trained combination machine learning classifier can be applied to the first classification and the second classification. The combination machine learning classifier can be configured to predict a third class of the product. A warranty can be defined and/or offered based on the third class of the product.

Abstract: Techniques and systems for beacon triggered device to device content transfer are disclosed. A described technique includes presenting, at an interactive beacon device, content including an interactive store catalog; receiving, at the interactive beacon device, user input responsive to the content; generating, at the interactive beacon device, a beacon message that can include transaction information based on the user input and the content, the transaction information including a service or product identifier corresponding to a product or service selected from the interactive store catalog; and transmitting, from the interactive beacon device, the beacon message over a short-range communication link to a mobile device. The beacon message can be configured to cause an application on the mobile device to advance a transaction associated with the transaction information.

Abstract: A user may create a wish/gift list and send the list to recipients, who have the option of accepting the list. Content being viewed or recorded by recipients who have accepted the list is scanned to determine whether the content is relevant to one or more items on the list. If so, an alert is displayed on a recipient device, which can be the same device as the displayed content. The recipient may select the alert to purchase the item(s) or obtain additional information about the item(s) for a subsequent purchase.

Abstract: A virtual salesperson system and method for tablet computers such as Apple's iPad can be used by the customer (as opposed to most applications which are for the dealer, or on a central kiosk) to provide the customer a tour of a showroom and each vehicle, highlighting key features and other content at the discretion of the OEM, such as videos tours conducted by their spokesperson. In at least one embodiment, the customer can also search inventory, potentially at this dealer and other ‘friendly’ dealerships with whom this dealer has a trading relationship. Other sales tools such as build and price, payment estimation, etc are available as well.

The device may assign the particular customer to a particular group, of the groups of customers, based on the particular customer characteristics, and may generate an item recommendation, for the particular customer, based on the item data associated with the particular group. The device may provide the item recommendation to the user device.

Abstract: Systems and methods for processing customer requests to access purchasable items using financial assessments are described. A customer using a mobile device can identify a good of interest and transmit a request to access and test it. A financial institution computing system with a database of customer financial information can generate a financial assessment of the customer and the customer's identified good, which can then be used to determine whether the customer's request should be granted.

Abstract: Techniques are provided for estimating a delivery time for a product in a supply chain. One method comprises obtaining an order for at least one product; calculating a similarity-based feature and/or a proximity-based feature for the order; and applying the calculated similarity-based feature and/or the calculated proximity-based feature for the order to a machine learning engine that generates an estimated delivery time for the order, wherein the machine learning engine is trained using characteristics from historical orders. The similarity-based feature for the order can be calculated using a delivery time value of historical orders in a given order cluster where the order was assigned based on a predefined distance metric between the order and features of each order cluster. The proximity-based feature for the order can be calculated using a delivery time value of the historical orders that satisfy one or more predefined recency criteria.
