Abstract: Described are systems and methods for product recommendation refinement in a topic-based virtual storefront embedded in a topical community web page. A system and method may facilitate determining user and community member activity in the virtual storefront based on which weighted keywords are derived. A topic set containing various weighted keywords may be iteratively configured for extracting and ordering one or more products that are extracted from a plurality of heterogeneous sources. A server may be configured for refining the topic set by modifying a baseline session keyword weight or a baseline contextual keyword weight based on a total topic set weight, an elasticity parameter, core topic keyword weights associated with core topic keywords, session keyword weights, and/or contextual keyword weights; and identifying, based at least on the configured topic set, products to be presented to a user as product recommendations in the virtual storefront.

In a preferred arrangement, a consumer perceiving an advertisement of the mass media publication may activate a reader in a portable communications device, such as a smart mobile or cellular phone, to receive information from the radio frequency signal associated with the advertisement to identify a vendor, product or service associated with the radio frequency identification. The smart mobile phone or communications device of the consumer may communicate with a system of a vendor across a network to order a product or product information from a system of the vendor over the network by using the information from the radio frequency identification.

Abstract: Electronic content that has a tactile dimension when presented on a tactile-enabled computing device may be referred to as tactile-enabled content. A tactile-enabled device is a device that is capable of presenting tactile-enabled content in a manner that permits a user to experience tactile quality of electronic content. In one example embodiment, a system is provided for generating content that has a tactile dimension when presented on a tactile-enabled device.

Abstract: A third party item listing management system usable for verification of third party items to be included on a retailer website includes an application programming interface and an item verification pipeline. The application programming interface is accessible by a plurality of third parties and is configured to receive item data associated with one or more items. The item verification pipeline is configured to receive the item data and call an item validation pipeline, the item validation pipeline includes a plurality of item validation stages including a field verification. At the field verification stage, data is extracted from at least one of an item image or text associated with the item. The data extracted is compared to item data obtained from an independent verification source to confirm the accuracy of the item data provided by the third party.

Additionally, other content of the UI, such as product images, rankings, etc. are dynamically ranked based on the search query and/or user context and presented in an order of relevance so that the user quickly identifies information for making meaningful shopping decisions.

Abstract: Techniques for topology based interoperability determination for an information technology (IT) infrastructure are described herein. An aspect includes receiving a replacement notification for an element of an IT infrastructure. A topology subgraph corresponding to the element is generated based on a topology graph of the IT infrastructure. A plurality of replacement candidates for the element is determined. A respective interoperability subgraph based on the topology subgraph is generated for each replacement candidate of the plurality of replacement candidates. A recommended replacement candidate is selected from the plurality of replacement candidates based on the generated interoperability subgraphs.

Abstract: A system to manage bi-directional electronic commerce order fulfillment process is disclosed. A processing subsystem including an order receiving module to receive one or more purchase orders corresponding to one or more products from a buyer at a first platform. An order handling module determines product state information associated with the first platform, identifies a requirement of transferring the one or more purchase orders corresponding to the one or more products to a second platform, transfers the one or more purchase orders from the first platform to the second platform via one or more order transferring processes. An order fulfilment module conveys buyer information associated with purchasing of the one or more products to the second platform, manages one or more payment options for financing the one or more products, receives delivery initiation information of the one or more products to the buyer, obtains an order fulfillment confirmation.

Abstract: This disclosure describes a system for fulfilling items at a materials handling facility. In some instances, a predicted items list that identifies items that are likely to be picked by a user are determined and, when the user arrives at the materials handling facility, those predicted items are presented to the user for selection. For example, predicted items may be determined and an inventory holder that holds one or more of those predicted items may be retrieved by a mobile drive unit (such as a Kiva mobile drive unit) and presented to the user at a retrieval area. The user may pick the items they desire from the presented inventory holder.

Abstract: A method, apparatus, and computer readable storage to implement a lending or cash advance system that can be (but is not required to be) integrated with an online commerce site. Sellers on the online commerce site can click a button or tab in their web browser that is visiting the online commerce site and information known to the online commerce site is automatically shared with a potential cash provider. The information can include sales data related to the seller's business on the online commerce site that can be applied to a formula used by a cash provider to evaluate the risk associated with lending the seller cash. A financial account used by the seller can rapidly receive the cash loan (if approved) and payments received by the seller from buyers would go into this financial account which is then used to automatically pay the cash provider back at agreed upon terms.

Abstract: A system comprising methods and apparatuses is provided for managing and optimizing shopping lists, purchased items, shopping visits, delivery schedules and reducing food waste. This system stores shopping lists of a user or shopping lists shared between a group of users. Upon entering the user to a certain vicinity where there is a store that sells an item which is pending on the shopping lists, the system sends reminding alerts to the user. Upon checking out from the store, the system marks as purchased on the shopping lists the purchased items. Upon storing the purchased items in associated containers, the system stores the locations of the items and updates the remaining amount of each of the items each time the user consumes part of each item. The system predicts the most optimized time of purchase and amount of the items to be purchased such that the least amount of food waste would occur and the least amount of delivery or shopping trips would be needed.

Abstract: A method and system of executing an online auction is presented. The system includes broker/agent-designed auction interfaces that have property listings, and displays select ones of the property listings from multiple brokers on a multi-tenant auction list user interface. Each of the property listings on the auction list user interface includes a link which, upon activation, launches the broker-designed auction interface where bids may be submitted.

Abstract: Product recommendations are selected according to a model. Product recommendations may be annotated with rules of the model used to select the products. A user may modify the model and be provided with a URL and a cookie associated with the modified model. Subsequent requests or the URL and presenting the cookie are processed using the modified model. A context may be associated with the cookie and modified by the user to observe performance of the model for the context. An interface may permit a user to specify rules for the model or otherwise model its behavior. User interactions with a website result in recommendations according to the model. A journey is recorded that records content, recommendations, and parameters of the model corresponding to the recommendations. The journeys of users may be filtered and visually presented to a user.

Abstract: Techniques are described for performing secure card not present (CNP) transactions using integrated circuit chip-enabled cards. The techniques include continually or periodically tracking a location of a user's card by a user computing device, e.g., a “smart” phone, and storing a log of datasets relating to the location of the user's card at a server device. Based on the tracking, the user computing device may alert the user via a push notification or other message when the user's card is not within a preset range of the user computing device. In addition, an authentication server determines a location of a purchaser computing device attempting to perform a CNP transaction using the user's card information, and compares the location of the purchaser computing device with a most recent location of the user's card retrieved from the log of datasets to determine whether to approve the CNP transaction.

Abstract: This disclosure describes one or more embodiments of systems, methods, and non-transitory computer-readable media that determine a degree of diversification for item recommendations to a user based on the user's input and generate diverse item recommendations for the user according to the degree of diversification. For instance, the disclosed systems can receive a diversification metric from a client device based on a user interaction with a selectable tool (or another interactive element) in a graphical user interface. From among data segments representing users clustered according to item affinities, the disclosed systems can subsequently use the diversification metric to identify a data segment that is diverse from a reference data segment for the user. The disclosed systems further rank items associated with the diverse data segment to select an anomalous item as an item recommendation for display on the client device.

Abstract: Techniques described herein are directed to transacting via social media interactions. In an example, content posted by a first user of a social media service provider and/or response(s) to the content posted by the first user of the social media service can be analyzed by computing system(s) of a payment processing service provider. The response(s) can be associated with second user(s) of the social media service provider. The computing system(s) can determine, based at least in part on the analyzing, an intent of at least the first user or the second user(s) to participate in a transaction for an item depicted in the content and can create a record indicating that item(s) depicted in the content are available for purchase by the second user(s). The record can be created at or near a time that the content is posted by the first user and used for facilitating the transaction.
