Within the unified system, parallel processing computer systems, each having an input (e.g., 77) controlling a plurality of computers (e.g., 205), generate and output user information at receiver stations. Under broadcast control, local computers (73, 205), combine user information selectively into prior art communications to exhibit personalized mass media programming at video monitors (202), speakers (263), printers (221), etc. At intermediate transmission stations (e.g., cable television stations), signals in network broadcasts and from local inputs (74, 77, 97, 98) cause control processors (71) and computers (73) to selectively automate connection and operation of receivers (53), recorder/players (76), computers (73), generators (82), strippers (81), etc.

Abstract: In general, certain embodiments of the present disclosure provide methods and/or systems for implementing a program guide, which comprises sending a first request and receiving a first response associated with a current or future program guide information. The current or future program guide information includes a first plurality of channel identifiers and a plurality of time slots that correspond to current or future time slots, and is displayed at a client device. A second request is sent, which indicates a requested time period that has already occurred and not displayed on the client device, and corresponds to navigation to a previous time slot. A second response is received, which is associated with past program guide information. The past program guide information includes a second plurality of channel identifiers and on-demand program information, and is displayed at the client device.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present application relate to a method, apparatus, and system for processing subtitle data. The method includes dividing subtitle data into multiple subtitle groups according to subtitle data display time information related to a played object, wherein a subtitle group comprises at least one subtitle data entry, and wherein a subtitle data entry comprises subtitle content, a subtitle display time in relation to the played object, and a speed of subtitle motion, selecting a piece of subtitle data from a subtitle group according to the display time information of the played object, and causing the selected piece of subtitle data to be displayed on a track such that the selected piece of subtitle data does not overlap with or pass another piece of subtitle data displayed on the track.

Abstract: The wood tracking system for a production line generally has a wood product optimizer; a wood product trimmer downstream from the optimizer in the production line; a conveyor for moving wood products from the optimizer to the trimmer and across a handling area therebetween, the optimizer being configured to scan each of the wood products in a given order and to generate optimization data for each wood product; and a computer vision system positioned proximate the handling area along the production line, the computer vision system having a camera, a processor in communication with the optimizer and with the trimmer and a computer-readable memory for storing the optimization data, the processor being configured to acquire images of the handling area from the camera, the processor being configured to associate the optimization data of a given wood product across each of the images until it arrives at the trimmer.

Abstract: The present invention proposes a method for transmitting a broadcast signal. The method for transmitting a broadcast signal according to the present invention proposes a system which can support a next-generation broadcast service in an environment supporting next-generation hybrid broadcast using a terrestrial broadcast network and an Internet network. Further, in the environment supporting the next-generation hybrid broadcast, the present invention provides an effective signaling scheme that covers both the terrestrial broadcast network and the Internet network.

Abstract: The present invention discloses an information pushing method. The method includes: a cloud server receiving program information from a program server and analyzing program content in the received program information to find available regions in image frames of the program content; the cloud server generating a block information record table for the found available regions; and an information server receiving the block information record table from the cloud server, finding corresponding information to be pushed for identifiers of the available regions in the block information record table according to a preset information association rule, associating the information to be pushed with the identifiers and sending the found information to be pushed to a corresponding playing terminal. The present invention also discloses an information pushing system, a cloud server and a information server.

Abstract: A vision system for a vehicle includes a camera configured to be disposed at a vehicle so as to have a field of view exterior of the vehicle. The camera includes a lens and an imager, and light passing through the lens is received at the imager via an optic path from the lens to the imager. The camera includes at least two spectral filters, each having a respective cutoff wavelength and (i) passing visible light below the respective cutoff wavelength, (ii) attenuating light above the respective cutoff wavelength. A control is operable to move the spectral filters relative to the optic path. The control positions a selected one of the spectral filters in the optic path so that the imager images visible light below the respective cutoff wavelength of the selected spectral filter. An image processor is operable to process image data captured by the camera.

Abstract: An easy-to-use metadata modifying system to obscure video metadata when sharing a video between different client devices to encourage the recipient to view the video is described. Content items are received at a first client device associated with a first user account. The content items can include metadata associated with the content item and metadata associated with the sender of the content item. The content item can be displayed on the client device with at least some of the metadata obscured from view. In response from an input to the client device, the metadata that was previously obscured can be provided for display on the client device.

Abstract: Embodiments provide for outputting video and allowing a user to switch between different audio steams in a synchronous manner without impacting the timeline of the audio presentation. The audio and video streams may be directed to a single sporting event. For example, a user can view video associated with a national television broadcast of a baseball game, and switch between the audio from the national broadcast and the audio from the radio broadcast. Similarly, the user can view video associated with a local television broadcast, and switch between the audio from the national, regional, and/or radio broadcast. As any sport fan would appreciate, such flexibility enables users to watch the video with, e.g., the best quality and camera angle, while at the same time listening to the audio or broadcaster they find the most appealing.

Abstract: A method and system for micro-cloud computing is described. An application serving node, which is a specifically configured piece of customer premises equipment such as a set-top box, is the server for a micro-cloud network. Various user devices that form part of the micro-cloud network, such as television sets and smart phones, communicate with the application serving node. The application serving node is configured with software that allows various heterogeneous types of data to be obtained and streamed to the user devices in multiple ways. The application serving node performs much of the processing necessary for such content streaming itself and thus represents an edge-based network architecture.

Abstract: An exemplary method includes a user interface navigation assistance system detecting user input representative of an impending selection of a button of a remote control device associated with a media content processing device while a navigable user interface is being displayed by the media content processing device on a display screen, determining a current position of a selector object within the navigable user interface, and providing, based on the current position of the selector object, audio feedback that indicates an action that will occur if the user selects the button of the remote control device while the selector object is in the current position. Corresponding methods and systems are also disclosed.

The method for transmitting a broadcast signal according to the present invention proposes a system which can support a next generation broadcast service in an environment supporting a next generation hybrid broadcast using a terrestrial broadcast network and an Internet network. Further, the present invention proposes an efficient signaling scheme which can cover both the terrestrial broadcast network and the Internet network in an environment supporting the next generation hybrid broadcast.

Abstract: Disclosed are various embodiments for facilitating uninterrupted playback of video streams using lower quality cached files. A video file corresponding to an entirety of a video content feature encoded at a first quality may be obtained from another client on a local network. A video stream corresponding to the video content feature encoded at a second quality higher than the first quality is then obtained. The video stream is rendered for playback on a display. In response to detecting an unavailability of the video stream at a particular time in the video content feature, the video file is rendered for playback on the display in place of the video stream and commences at the particular time in the video content feature. The video file may then be sent to yet another client on the local network.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and media for generating an advertisement from a video stream are provided. In accordance with some embodiments, the method comprises: receiving, from a first user device, advertisement parameters associated with an advertisement campaign for placing an advertisement based on the advertisement parameters, wherein the advertisement parameters include one or more keywords; associating the advertisement parameters with an identifier of the first user device; receiving, from the first user device, a live video stream; receiving, from a second user device, a request to present an advertisement; identifying the live video stream based at least in part on the one or more keywords; generating the advertisement using the live video stream and the advertisement parameters; and causing the advertisement to be presented on the second user device as the advertisement.

Abstract: Systems for electronic media distribution includes a differential versioning server configured to receive a first media file including a first set of data with a first set of attributes and a second media file including a second set of data with a second set of attributes, generate a first differential data file as a function of differences between the first media file and the second media file, and generate a first differential metadata file including an encoding data set configured to enable a media decoder to regenerate the second media file by applying the first differential data file to the first media file. Systems for electronic media distribution may also include a receiver communicatively coupled to a differential versioning decoder configured to receive the first media file and the first differential data file and generate the second media file by applying the first differential data file to the first media file.
