Abstract: A video service is provided by one or more servers which communicate directly with one more clients over a network. The service may provide digital optical disc data storage formatted video, such as for example a Blu-ray format video, and allows Blu-ray video to be streamed to a client device over the network. The system may utilize direct and fast content delivery of content typically found on a high definition digital optical disc. The content may include a movie as well as featurettes and other content. The video service may also include augmented content and may provide overlay content. In addition to these features, the video streaming service may also provide community content as an overlay to improve a user's viewing experience.

Abstract: Provided are a networking method and a networking device. The method is applied to the networking device, and the networking device is connected with at least one service switch and at least one streaming media server respectively. The method includes that a configuration module in the networking device configures networking configuration information of the at least one streaming media server, a control module in the networking device acquires the networking configuration information, and the control module sets a switching module through a setting interface of the switching module on the basis of the networking configuration information. According to the disclosure, the technical problem of complexity in a networking mode in the existing technology can be solved, and unified network management and configuration can be realized.

Abstract: Systems and methods for providing an interactive multimedia experience are described. For example, a method for providing interactive content includes receiving content data, receiving an indication of a region within a frame of the content data, receiving a scripting event associated with the region, wherein the scripting event specifies an action to be taken responsive to a trigger, receiving a metadata tag or a reference to the metadata tag, the metadata tag associated with the region, and formatting at least a portion of the content data, the indication of the region, the scripting event, and the metadata tag or the reference to the metadata tag in accordance with a file format for transmission.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and computer readable media may be operable to facilitate anticipatory conditioning of multimedia content for delivery to one or more devices. A multimedia device may track and record correlations between each of a plurality of devices, wherein the correlations are based on the order in which one or more devices request synchronization of a piece of content following a request by a first device for synchronization of the same piece of content. The multimedia device may update device correlations with each subsequent content synchronization request. When the multimedia device receives a synchronization request for a piece of content, the multimedia device may identify a device correlated with the requesting device and may initiate a conditioning of the piece of content for delivery to the correlated device without first receiving a request for synchronization of the piece of content from the correlated device.

Abstract: Methods and systems for granting temporary access to videos from a programmer to viewers based on the viewers having subscriptions with a separate MVPD. An exemplary technique involves receiving a request for the programmer to provide a video to a viewer and accessing the MVPD to authenticate that the viewer has a subscription with the MVPD and confirm that the viewer is authorized to receive the video. The technique determines that the MVPD is not able to timely authenticate the viewer subscription or confirm that the viewer is authorized to receive the video. While waiting for the MVPD to respond, the viewer is granted temporary access to the video. When a subsequent response from the MVPD is received, the technique continues to grant access to the viewer to the video from the programmer or cuts off access of the viewer to the video from the programmer based on the response.

Abstract: A system and method are provided for recording a video production from one or more panoramic and/or high resolution video feeds and recreating the video production at a remote location, or client using meta data, production data, and video feed from a remote source, and serve the video feed to multiple clients on a local area network.

Abstract: Systems and methods presented herein provide for Content On Demand (COD) asset insertion. A COD asset insertion decision system (CODAID) is communicatively coupled to a content distributor to process information about a COD content selection by a Customer Premises Equipment (CPE). The CODAID also processes information about assets from asset providers. The CODAID ranks the assets based in part on the COD content selection information and the asset information, identifies one or more of the ranked assets for insertion into the COD content selection, and directs the content distributor to insert the identified one or more ranked assets into the COD content selection. The system also includes an auction system which identifies asset placement opportunities remaining in the COD content selection after the CODAID identifies the one or more ranked assets for insertion so as to provide an auction for the asset placement opportunities.

Abstract: A projection system includes a display device, a wireless presentation gateway, a computer terminal, and a portable device. The display device is used for displaying an image. The wireless presentation gateway is linked to the display device for transmitting image data to the display device. The computer terminal is linked to the wireless presentation gateway for transmitting the image data to the wireless presentation gateway. The portable device is connected to the computer terminal through a communication port for driving the computer terminal, the wireless presentation gateway, and the display device for performing an image display process automatically.

Abstract: A method for controlling media presentation during a teleconference. The method generally includes the steps of coupling a buffer operatively to a host device and a participant device, storing media information associated with the teleconference in the buffer and directing playback of the media information from the buffer to the participant device. The host device is associated with a host of the teleconference and the host thereby enables playback of the stored media information to a participant other than the host.

Abstract: Disclosed are various embodiments for facilitating uninterrupted playback of video streams using lower quality cached files. A video file corresponding to an entirety of a video content feature encoded at a first quality is obtained. A video stream corresponding to the video content feature encoded at a second quality higher than the first quality is then obtained. The video stream is rendered for playback on a display. In response to detecting an unavailability of the video stream at a particular time in the video content feature, the video file is rendered for playback on the display in place of the video stream and commences at the particular time in the video content feature.

Abstract: A portable video delivery device includes data storage, a secure processor, and a wireless network interface that acts as an access point for a secure personal wireless network. Transcoded media files are stored in the data storage so that the portable device maintains a library of stored media programs that can be carried along with the user during commuting, travel and/or other activities. To playback the stored programming, other media player devices use the personal wireless network to securely connect to the portable device and to obtain previously-transcoded content from the data storage of the device.
