Abstract: A locking system that controls access to a parcel storage box having a lockable door or lid with an electrically controllable locking mechanism. The locking system includes an optical scanner for scanning a barcode on a parcel that includes tracking information. A communication module transmits the tracking information to a separate computing system over a wireless network and then receives a response from the computing system indicating whether or not the transmitted barcode information is associated with an expected delivery. Electrical circuitry opens the locking mechanism if the tracking information is associated with an expected delivery.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to an article storage and retrieval apparatus, including a frame body, configured to be fixed on a vertical mounting surface; a cover body, the cover body hinged with the frame body at upper end, left end or right end to realize rotary opening and closing; and a container, an open end of the container being arranged on an inner side of the cover body and the container being located in a space formed between the frame body and the cover body, wherein the container has a variable volume and is configured to be unfolded to form a space for accommodating articles after the cover body is opened relative to the frame body and allow the cover body to be closed relative to the frame body after being folded.

Abstract: A modular system of locker banks for receipt and delivery of packages is described. The system may include associate modules each having one or more lockers and a control board in communication with each of the lockers in the module. Each locker may include a locker board having a processor and memory configured to control operation of the locker. Each locker may include a lock and a light. The system may further include one or more control modules, each having the above components and further including a kiosk having one or more input and output devices for entering information to the module for controlling operation of the system. The modular system may be connected to a server and/or an administrator terminal.

Abstract: Caskets, cap panel assemblies for a casket, and methods for manufacturing cap panel assemblies are described. A casket may include a casket shell, at least one casket cap pivotally mounted on the casket shell, and a cap panel assembly mounted in the at least one casket cap. The cap panel assembly may include a cap panel, a puffing member attached to each edge of the cap panel, and a cap panel insert. The cap panel insert is fastened to the cap panel using pins. The cap panel insert can include a frame, fabric, filler, and a backing board. The cap panel insert can include elastic or ribbon-shaped straps positioned on a front face of the cap panel insert. The elastic or ribbon-shaped straps can be positioned in a lattice or grid-like arrangement. The cap panel insert can include a mounting bracket or a screw and wire assembly for mounting the cap panel insert on a wall.

Abstract: A biodegradable burial pod, comprising a shell and a lid defining a cavity therein, the shell and the lid being composed of a biodegradable resin, wherein an inner wall of one of the shell and the lid includes living mushroom spores disposed thereon, wherein one or more channels are defined in the inner wall thereof to receive fluids, the one or more channels having one or more outlets opening through the inner wall, the one or more channels being angled to facilitate flow of fluids to the one or more outlets, and wherein the lid includes a substance disposed thereon which is consumed by the mushroom spores.

Abstract: A mailbox having a housing, floor, mail receptacle, front door and traveling rod. The mail receptacle is situated on top of a sliding rail assembly affixed to the floor. A first end of the traveling rod is pivotally connected to a first horizontal bar that is secured to a rear portion of the sliding rail assembly. Two first support members are pivotally connected to the right and left ends of the first horizontal bar. The first support members are also pivotally connected to two second support members that extend from the rear end of the mailbox to the front door inside of the housing. A second end of the traveling rod is attached to a shaft, and a wheel bearing is situated on either end of the shaft. A receiving bracket attached to the rear wall of the mail receptacle is configured to receive the wheel bearings and shaft.

A rotatable content deposit includes a content delivery door and an inner panel affixed on a proximate end at an angle to a bottom of the content delivery door, and is pivotably attached to the front side of the housing. A content slot is formed as an opening within a front surface of the housing when the rotatable content deposit is in a fully open position allowing content to be deposited through the opening over each of the inner panel and the safety arm. A content retrieval door is located below the rotatable content deposit and is pivotably attached to the front side of the housing.

Abstract: A collapsible casket viewing barrier includes a first transparent shield pivotally connected to a second transparent shield. The transparent shields are disposed within supporting frames that are connected via one or more hinges. Each supporting frame includes attached support legs, which may be telescopically adjustable and include wheels for easy transport. The first supporting frame and the second supporting frame are configured to move between a deployed configuration for use and a collapsed configuration for storage. When deployed during a funeral service, the collapsible casket viewing barrier can be positioned adjacent a casket such that the longer first transparent shield extends lengthwise along the casket while the shorter second transparent shield extends perpendicularly along the upper end of the casket. The casket is shielded in a way that allows individuals to view the deceased while reducing the transmission of germs.

Abstract: The disclosure provides an innovative delivery receptacle for receiving objects (such as parcels and mail) deposited into the receptacle and securely storing them once deposited. The receptacle allows for the orientation of the position of an input opening and delivery door for a delivering party, such as a courier, to deposit the objects in the receptacle to be changeable with respect to the orientation of an access opening and access door for a receiving party to remove the objects. In one embodiment, the delivery door also restricts access to the deposited objects while they are deposited into the receptacle. The receptacle may be a stand-alone receptacle or it may be a structure-mounted unit, such as installed in a wall or other structure. The receptacle may comprise a separate first and second sections that may be shipped separately and assembled with the desired orientation.
