  • Patent number: 11983503
Abstract: Artificial intelligence (AI) technology can be used in combination with composable communication goal statements to facilitate a user's ability to quickly structure story outlines in a manner usable by an NLG narrative generation system without any need for the user to directly author computer code. Narrative analytics that are linked to communication goal statements can employ a conditional outcome framework that allows the content and structure of resulting narratives to intelligently adapt as a function of the nature of the data under consideration. This AI technology permits NLG systems to determine the appropriate content for inclusion in a narrative story about a data set in a manner that will satisfy a desired communication goal.

  • Patent number: 11954445
Abstract: Artificial intelligence (AI) technology can be used in combination with composable communication goal statements to facilitate a user's ability to quickly structure story outlines using “explanation” communication goals in a manner usable by an NLG narrative generation system without any need for the user to directly author computer code. This AI technology permits NLG systems to determine the appropriate content for inclusion in a narrative story about a data set in a manner that will satisfy a desired explanation communication goal such that the narratives will express various ideas that are deemed relevant to a given explanation communication goal.

  • Patent number: 11785061
Abstract: A technique for sharing an application between devices is discussed. Embodiments of the present invention transmit information about an application from a source computing device to a target computing device. An application sharing service on the target computing device then automatically searches the target computing device for a resident corresponding application or its equivalent and if a corresponding application is not found, searches an application store or repository for the corresponding application. If the application or its equivalent is found in the application store or repository, a user may be prompted to download the application or the application may be downloaded automatically. If the corresponding application was found on the target computing device originally, a check may be performed to determine if the most recent update is installed and, if the most recent version is not installed, it may be downloaded from the application store.

  • Patent number: 11731620
Abstract: A vehicle may include a primary system and a secondary system to validate operation of the primary system and to control the vehicle to avoid collisions. For example, the secondary system may receive multiple trajectories from the primary system, such as a primary trajectory and a secondary, contingent, trajectory associated with a deceleration or other maneuver. The secondary system may determine if a trajectory is associated with a potential collision, if the trajectory is consistent with a current or previous pose, if the trajectory is compatible with a capability of the vehicle, etc. The secondary system may select the primary trajectory if valid, the secondary trajectory if the primary trajectory is invalid, or another trajectory generated by the secondary system if the primary trajectory and the secondary trajectory are invalid. If no valid trajectory is determined, the vehicle may decelerate at a maximum rate.

  • Publication number: 20230073827
Abstract: Disclosed is a signal processing method for a distributed acoustic sensing system (DAS), where a scattered signal that was scattered at a scattering location along an optical path is received and interfered with a local oscillator signal to generate a first carrier signal that is modulated by a phase difference between the local oscillator signal and the scattered signal. The first carrier signal is then digitally processed in order to generate a second carrier signal that is modulated by a spatial differential of the phase difference. The spatial differential of the phase difference is directly related to the strain (or acoustic environment) of the optical path at the scattering location, and so enables the strain at the scattering location to be estimated.

  • Publication number: 20220415203
Abstract: An item generation interface may generate knowledge assessment items directed a subject area based on a set of model items collectively directed to the subject area. The item generation interface may group the set of model assessment items into a plurality of similar item groups using numeric features corresponding to the model assessment items. Similar item groups may include model assessment items covering conceptually similar concepts within the subject area. A conditioning input may be generated for each of the item groups based on the numeric features corresponding to the model assessment items in the item group. Responsive to providing the conditioning inputs to a transformer-based natural language generation model, the item generation interface may receive raw assessment items from the transformer-based natural language generation model. Knowledge assessment items may be identified from the raw assessment items.
