  • Publication number: 20230073827
Abstract: Disclosed is a signal processing method for a distributed acoustic sensing system (DAS), where a scattered signal that was scattered at a scattering location along an optical path is received and interfered with a local oscillator signal to generate a first carrier signal that is modulated by a phase difference between the local oscillator signal and the scattered signal. The first carrier signal is then digitally processed in order to generate a second carrier signal that is modulated by a spatial differential of the phase difference. The spatial differential of the phase difference is directly related to the strain (or acoustic environment) of the optical path at the scattering location, and so enables the strain at the scattering location to be estimated.

  • Publication number: 20220415203
Abstract: An item generation interface may generate knowledge assessment items directed a subject area based on a set of model items collectively directed to the subject area. The item generation interface may group the set of model assessment items into a plurality of similar item groups using numeric features corresponding to the model assessment items. Similar item groups may include model assessment items covering conceptually similar concepts within the subject area. A conditioning input may be generated for each of the item groups based on the numeric features corresponding to the model assessment items in the item group. Responsive to providing the conditioning inputs to a transformer-based natural language generation model, the item generation interface may receive raw assessment items from the transformer-based natural language generation model. Knowledge assessment items may be identified from the raw assessment items.

  • Patent number: 11539969
Abstract: Techniques for encoding image data are discussed. Image data containing multiple image frames can be received from an image sensor associated with a vehicle. A first image frame and a second image frame may be associated with a first data chunk. A first metadata associated with the first image frame can be identified. Additionally, a second metadata associated with the second image frame can be identified. The first data chunk can be created that includes the first image frame, the second image frame, the first metadata, and the second metadata. The first data chunk can be stored in a video container, where the video container can be indexed to access the first image frame with the first metadata or the second image frame with the second metadata.

  • Patent number: 11494538
Abstract: Techniques for determining simulations to confirm programmatic logic are discussed herein. Such simulations may be used to identify errors in programmatic logic. As an example, a system may simulate an autonomous vehicle operating in an environment by setting various initialization parameters. Temporal logic, such as Linear Temporal Logic (LTL) and/or Signal Temporal Logic (STL) may be used to determine a numeric cost associated with how closely one or more policies are violated for each simulation of a group of simulations. Based on the costs computed, additional sets of simulations may be created using an evolutionary algorithm. Flaws in programmatic logic controlling the system may be identified based on the evolutionary algorithms and cost defined.

  • Publication number: 20220328140
Abstract: In some embodiments, the early feasibility assessment (EFA) system generates a set of quantitative systems pharmacology (QSP) models using rule-based reasoning systems to efficiently assess the feasibility of therapeutic drug candidates. With each QSP model, the EFA system provides sets of parameters for the user to easily contrast and compare various scenarios to explore risk and uncertainty of developing the therapeutic drug candidate, while high-performance computing provides near real-time simulation of the scenarios. The EFA system performs 1-dimensional or 2-dimensional scans of parameters and output feasibility criteria including, for example, maximum inhibition, activation, and target engagement. The assessment results and key parameters values can be presented via a user interface of the EFA system which allows user interactions with, for example, dose-response and pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic (PK/PD) plots.

  • Patent number: 11460500
Abstract: Detecting whether a target device that includes multiple electronic components is genuine or suspected counterfeit by: performing a test sequence of energizing and de-energizing the target device and collecting electromagnetic interference (EMI) signals emitted by the target device; generating a target EMI fingerprint from the EMI signals collected; retrieving a plurality of reference EMI fingerprints from a database library, each of which corresponds to a different configuration of electronic components of a genuine device of the same make and model as the target device; iteratively comparing the target EMI fingerprint to the retrieved reference EMI fingerprints and generating a similarity metric between each compared set; and indicating that the target device (i) is genuine where the similarity metric for any individual reference EMI fingerprint satisfies a threshold test, and is a suspect counterfeit device where no similarity metric for any individual reference EMI fingerprint satisfies the test.

  • Patent number: 11438059
Abstract: An improved technique for acoustic sensing involves, in one embodiment, launching into a medium, a plurality of groups of pulse-modulated electromagnetic-waves. The frequency of electromagnetic waves in a pulse within a group differs from the frequency of the electromagnetic waves in another pulse within the group. The energy scattered by the medium is detected and, in one embodiment, the beat signal may be used to determine a characteristic of the environment of the medium. For example, if the medium is a buried optical fiber into which light pulses have been launched in accordance with the invention, the presence of acoustic waves within the region of the buried fiber can be detected.
