Publication number: 20130052961Abstract: A method for surveying a site for installation of wireless access points is provided. A map of the site under survey is displayed. User input relating to the position of a first wireless device at the site is received. User input relating to the position of a second wireless device at the site is also received. Wireless signals broadcast by the second wireless device are measured using the first wireless device to obtain signal strength values corresponding to the strength of the wireless signals. Attenuation values based on the signal strength values are calculated and assigned to features on the map of the site under survey.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 31, 2011Publication date: February 28, 2013Applicant: Xirrus, Inc.Inventors: Jack Michael Horner, Dirk Ion Gates, Kurt Karl Sauter, Bruce Anthony Miller, Alexander Chernyakhovsky

Publication number: 20120227551Abstract: An adapter for a socket wrench includes a shaft with two socket drivers disposed along the shaft. Each of the socket drivers can, independent from one another, rotate around the shaft and slide along the shaft in either direction. There are two stops at each end of the shaft to prevent the socket drivers from falling off the shaft. The socket drivers can be attached to a variety of different socket accessories and sockets so that torque applied to one of the socket drivers can be multiplied and exerted at the end of the other socket driver. One particular embodiment includes a shaft and pedal that aids a person in correctly and easily tightening or loosening lug nuts.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 8, 2011Publication date: September 13, 2012Inventor: Anthony Miller

Patent number: 7677895Abstract: Arithmetic Measurement System quantifies arithmetic operations just by measurement and without arithmetic calculation or even counting. Playing cards may be annotated with size-coded marks or card tags to represent face value. For example, a tag representing a face value 5 is half the size of one representing a value 10 using a linear tag scale, or about 7/10th the size using a log10 tag scale. Users align linear tags in a contiguous row to add values or overlap tags to subtract values. Users align logarithmic tags in a row to multiply values or overlap tags to divide values. Integrated and separate measures with corresponding linear or logarithmic tag-scales quantify a total value of aggregate or net tag row size. Product developers may use the Arithmetic Measurement System of tags and measures to provide novel educational math manipulatives and playing card games for players unskilled in arithmetic.Type: GrantFiled: April 24, 2006Date of Patent: March 16, 2010Inventor: Anthony Miller

Publication number: 20080318021Abstract: A composite structure, such as a structural member (12), is formed by the steps of knitting a three dimensional pre-form (17) from one or more selected fibres such as natural fibres selected from hemp, cotton, flax, jute and synthetic fibres such as boron aramide fibres, carbon fibres, glass fibres and polymer based fibres, using a three dimensional knitting machine (16). The pre-form (17) has a shape commensurate with that of the structure (12) to be formed. The pre-form (17) is caused to take its three dimensional shape by inflating or otherwise expanding the pre-form such as by injecting a foamable synthetic plastics material into the interior of the pre-form, and thereafter fixing the shape of the shaped fibres to form the composite structure.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 13, 2007Publication date: December 25, 2008Applicant: Futuris Automotive Interiors (Australia) Pty LtdInventor: Jason Anthony Miller

Publication number: 20070281258Abstract: A system and method for generating flame effects. The system includes an array of burner heads, each having an igniter configured to generate an ignition spark. The system also includes a reservoir of a high flash point liquid and a pump configured to draw the high flash point liquid from the reservoir and pump it to the array of burner heads under high pressure. A valve is arranged at each burner in the array of burner heads to control a flow of the high flash point liquid through each burner head. Also, a nozzle is arranged at each burner head to atomize the high flash point liquid before ignition. A sensor is arranged at each burner head to generate an ignition confirmation signal upon detecting the ignition spark at the igniter. Accordingly, a controller is configured to independently control each valve to restrict the flow of the high flash point liquid to the burner unless the ignition confirmation signal is received from the sensor monitoring the burner.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 1, 2006Publication date: December 6, 2007Inventors: Russell Carlton Clark, Jerome Gene Engerski, John Anthony Miller, Richard Neal Fleming

Publication number: 20070248939Abstract: An educational game system offers fun and effective ways to readily learn about equivalent values in prevalent measurement or counting systems. These may include fractions, percentages, decimals and degrees. This child-friendly game system can include a set of playing cards and a measure. It is a low cost yet effective math learning tool. Interchangeable indicia such as symbols, words and pictures depict face values. These make play and learning accessible to all. Addition, subtraction, multiplication and division are supported. Even players unskilled in the prevalent measurement or counting system or in the underlying math may determine a group value. Cards denote hints and game strategies. The system supports existing and original card games. It may appeal to players of all ages and levels of mathematical proficiency from novices to experts. Game developers may customize the system for any application or market.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 24, 2006Publication date: October 25, 2007Inventor: Anthony Miller
