  • Patent number: 10307668
Abstract: Enhancements to existing gaming controllers facilitating expedient response time and fine-tuned accuracy are described. The enhancements comprise the internal modification of the stock resistance force supplied by the analog stick centering spring mechanism. Through modification, the force of resistance supplied may be increased to over 200 grams of force, or down to 40 grams of force, while maintaining full function of the analog stick mechanism. A second primary enhancement replaces the stock triggers, conventionally equipped with progressive resistance sensors, to a momentary ‘snap-action’ two-way switch, minimizing trigger pull distance, and removing the analog nature of the trigger to achieve optimal performance.

  • Publication number: 20190023569
Abstract: High strength, low salt solutions of alkali hypochlorite (e.g. sodium hypochlorite) can advantageously be produced in a system comprising a subsystem in which alkali hydroxide solution and chlorine are reacted to produce alkali hypochlorite and salt solids in a crystallizer, while drawing a vacuum in the crystallizer. In a system comprising a chlor-alkali plant, the alkali hydroxide solution and chlorine can be directly obtained (i.e. without concentrating) from the electrolyzer in the plant. A net energy savings in the system can be achieved and water consumption in the chlor-alkali plant can be substantially decreased by returning chlorinated condensate from the crystallizer to the recycle line in the chlor-alkali plant. Salt can be efficiently recovered by redissolving the salt solids produced in depleted brine and returning it directly to the electrolyzer. As a result, high strength, low salt hypochlorite can be produced without the need to evaporate caustic.

  • Publication number: 20180136787
Abstract: An optical touch panel includes an emitter light guide that receives and traps light from a light source. The optical touch panel also includes a collector light guide. Responsive to pressure being applied to the emitter light guide in at least one location that corresponds to at least one location on a display positioned underneath the light guides, optical coupling occurs between the emitter light guide and the collector light guide. The optical coupling causes light trapped in the emitter light guide to escape and be collected by the collector light guide. At least one optical sensor detects the collected light and determines the location at which pressure is applied to the emitter light guide that corresponds to the location on the display based on the detected collected light. The optical sensor may also determine the force of the pressure applied.

  • Patent number: 9588034
Abstract: An apparatus and method for performing permeation testing on materials used in personal protective equipment is described. Two or more test cells are loaded with swatches of material and inserted into the testing apparatus. Chemicals to be tested on the material are loaded into one or more syringes and may be introduced into the top of the test cells as a liquid or a vapor. Vapor is collected from the bottom of the test cells, underneath the swatches of material, and tested for concentration of the chemicals being tested. The apparatus and method facilitates instantaneous breakthrough analysis, control of the sample environment and ease of operator use and calibration.

  • Publication number: 20160307248
Abstract: An example method, set of machine readable instructions stored on a storage device, and computer system, each adapted for determining an acceptable offer price for a product or service are described herein. In the method, a reserve price is set for a desired product or service that is displayed to a user. Upon receiving an offer on the product or service by the user, a given fee may be billed to the user in response thereto. Upon the input of the offer, a determination is made as to whether or not it meets or exceeds the set reserve price. If the offer amount is less than the reserve price, the reserve price is automatically lowered by a given amount, otherwise the offered amount input by the user for the desired product or service is accepted.

  • Patent number: 9411530
Abstract: A method is used in selecting physical storage in data storage systems. A request for allocation of a portion of storage area of a data storage system is received from a requesting entity. The data storage system is comprised of a set of storage entities and a set of data buses for transferring data to and from the set of storage entities. The set of storage entities are organized into a set of logical units. Each logical unit of the set of logical units is subdivided into a set of slices. A slice is selected from a logical unit of the set of logical units for allocation for use by the requesting entity in response to receiving the request for allocation. The selection is based on an optimum value indicating physical location of the logical unit within the set of storage entities during access to data to be stored in the data storage system.

  • Patent number: 9321050
Abstract: An ultrasonic microfluidic system includes a separation channel for conveying a sample fluid containing small particles and large particles, flowing substantially parallel, adjacent to a recovery fluid, with which it is in contact. An acoustic transducer produces an ultrasound standing wave, that generates a pressure field having at least one node of minimum pressure amplitude. An acoustic extension structure is located proximate to said separation channel for positioning said acoustic node off center in said acoustic area and concentrating the large particles in said recovery fluid stream.

  • Publication number: 20160068415
Abstract: Fluoride ions can be removed from an aqueous stream to desirable levels (e.g. less than 1 ppm) using two precipitation reactions in series. In this method, calcium chloride and a phosphate salt are added to form a first precipitate and then a carbonate salt is added to form a second precipitate. However under certain circumstances, the conventional stoichiometries employed have been found to remove insufficient fluoride. Instead, sufficient fluoride can be removed by employing unconventional stoichiometries, specifically excessive calcium chloride or deficient carbonate salt.

  • Patent number: 9177603
Abstract: In a method of assembling an enhanced media content narrative, a navigation grid is initially defined by program name, chapter name and sub-chapter names. The grid is populated with program element file names, and the content is associated with the element file names in each chapter/sub-chapter. An automated toolbar is created for the grid matrix and combined with introductory content to provide an enhanced media content narrative for playback by a viewer.

  • Publication number: 20150252979
Abstract: Related to most light-emitting devices, such as LED luminaires, a filtering, beam-shaping optic is disclosed that controls the spectral content of the emitted light and the shape of the emitted beam. One or more filtering agents is mixed with a non-filtering material used for making an optic and the optic is then formed into a desired shape or configuration to control the beam shape. Light waves in a subrange of the overall wavelength range emitted from the light source are shifted to control the spectral content of the emitted light. Spectral density of the emitted light for various wavelengths is controlled to achieve a desired result, such as minimizing the amount of blue light emitted from outdoor lighting devices, particularly at night. Further, the color content of light emitted is controlled, for example, to minimize damaging effects to light-sensitive objects such as food products, certain art materials, etc.
