  • Publication number: 20160250780
Abstract: Disclosed is a block press and associated process, for dynamically forming a block mold, to produce a masonry block. In some embodiments, the block mold includes a plurality of mold elements, such as a lower impact plate, an upper impact plate, and a plurality of side plates, and can further include one or more block cores. In operation, one or more of the mold elements are moved to dynamically forming a block mold, which is then filled with product formula. The product formula is then compressed, to form a masonry block. One or more of the mold elements are then released, such as to release pressure on the formed masonry block, and to allow removal of the formed masonry block from the block press, wherein the formed masonry block can be moved to a curing area, and the block press can reform the block mold for subsequent production.

  • Patent number: 9164519
Abstract: Environmental conditions within an enclosure containing critical equipment and devices are monitored and when outside of acceptable parameters corrective action is taken to modify these environmental conditions so as to bring them within acceptable limits. Unless an environmental condition is outside of an acceptable limit, no energy expenditure is made by the environmental conditioning equipment since it does not need to be in use. When the environmental conditioning equipment is called into operation, its environmental modification influence is monitored to determine if the expected environmental modification is occurring within an expected time period(s). If the expected environmental modification does not occur within the expected time period, and/or does not occur at an expected time rate of change, then an alarm is generated to indicate that maintenance may be required for the environmental conditioning equipment.

  • Publication number: 20150165645
Abstract: Masonry units, such a blocks, are fabricated in a sequential process, using improved mold structures, such as within a production corridor of a corresponding fabrication system. A compressible masonry feedstock or formulated material, which can be de-agglomerated before use, is filled within a block mold having releasable elements. The feedstock or formulated material is then compressed within the mold structure. The compressed workpiece can be further processed, such as for any of final height adjustment, the establishment of a surface feature, or to remove cores. The block mold, having releasable elements or sides, such as using hinges or springs, is released from the formed block, wherein the formed masonry unit can be removed for curing, and wherein the block mold can be reused to fabricate a subsequent masonry unit.

  • Patent number: 8570179
Abstract: A sensor is coupled to a device positioned within an enclosure and is configured to determine the status of the device or its surrounding environment. The sensor transmits the information to a central computer and/or a local indicator. Once the information is received at the central computer, the information is processed for the operators and maintainers to interpret. Based on the information received, the operators and maintainers may implement procedures to maintain the device or its surrounding environment under observation. In certain embodiments, the central computer provides instructions to a second device within or adjacent to the enclosure to implement corrective actions. In some embodiments, the sensor is coupled to a microcontroller which performs analysis received from the sensor and provides instructions to the second device to implement corrective actions.
