  • Publication number: 20090262612
Abstract: An apparatus and a method for quickly starting recording seamless-playable data are provided. At the end of recording a preceding record content, identification information of a clip information file for a subsequent record content to be recorded next is recorded in an attribute information storage file set for the preceding record content. More specifically, a clip information file for a subsequent chapter is reserved at the end of recording of a preceding chapter, and an identifier of the clip information file is recorded in the clip information file for the preceding record chapter. Through the prior reservation process of the clip information file, an updating process for updating the clip information file at the start of recording of the subsequent chapter becomes unnecessary. Data recording, such as a photographing operation of a video camera is thus quickly started.

  • Publication number: 20090263103
Abstract: To improve user-friendliness in recording AV data created after recording is started until it is stopped as a file. AV data that are created after recording is started until it is stopped are recorded as a file. Information that represents a reproduction region and mark information that represents a jump position are additionally written to a reproduction list file. At this point, it is determined whether or not restrictions that have been set to the reproduction list file and an attribute file for additional writing are satisfied on the basis of the reproduction list file as an additionally writable candidate and the attribute file that correlates reproduction time and address of the AV data. When having been determined that they be satisfied, the reproduction region information and the mark information are additionally written to the reproduction list file as the additionally writable candidate. When having been determined that they be not satisfied, a new reproduction list file is created.

  • Publication number: 20090202229
Abstract: An apparatus and a method for performing a data recording process that permits seamless playing are provided. An information processing apparatus such as a video camera records data in a manner that permits contents having discontinued recording timings to be played in a seamless fashion. To this end, the information processing apparatus acquires seamless information of a preceding record content to be applied to a recording process of a subsequent record content, and records the seamless information in a record file defined by a record format. For example, the seamless information is recorded in a clip information file. The seamless information remains recorded on an information recording medium as long as the content recorded on the information recording medium remains undeleted. The information processing apparatus can thus read and use the seamless information at any time.

  • Publication number: 20090136145
Abstract: An editing process is to be properly performed for video data that have been compression-encoded using inter-frame compression. Identification information that identifies a device that has recorded the stream file is extracted from the stream file that stores the video stream to be edited. When the extracted identification information represents a device that can encode the video stream with the same attribute as an attribute that the encoder of the editing apparatus can handle, an editing process is performed on the basis of a technique of decoding only a necessarily minimum region and re-encoding it. Otherwise, the editing process is performed on the basis of a technique of encoding all a video stream to be edited and re-encoding it. It can be determined whether or not the encoding process on the basis of the technique of decoding only a necessarily minimum region can be performed on the basis of only predetermined identification information contained in the video stream.

  • Publication number: 20090047002
Abstract: A movie stream recorded on a recording medium with accompanying management information according to a predetermined standard format is edited while satisfying an upper limit condition. When the number of play items or the number of playlist marks in a playlist has reached or approached the upper limit condition, last chapter information in the playlist is moved to the beginning of a subsequent playlist or a newly created playlist. Furthermore, in a case where there exists a margin against the upper limit condition regarding the number of play items or the number of playlist marks as one playlist even if contents of two or more adjacent playlists are combined, the playlists are integrated to reduce the number of playlists on the recording medium.

  • Publication number: 20090034940
Abstract: When the BD-ROM standard is extended to recordable record mediums, a system which stores title numbers when a title is deleted and a system which stores the order of which titles were recorded when a title is deleted and which changes the title numbers are allowed to co-exist. Information title_id_ref that represents a title is added to a play list to which the title belonged when the play list was created. When a disc from which a title was deleted by a recorder A that stores the order of which titles were recorded, but not file numbers is loaded into a recorder B that stores title numbers, the recorder B rewrites the title number of the index based on information title_id_ref. A play list corresponding to a title that was deleted and its number was unused and an object that references the play list are created and a title that calls the object is registered to the index. Thus, the recorder A and the recorder B can have compatibility with respect to editing a title.

  • Publication number: 20080304813
Abstract: A data processing apparatus which divides stream data into portions is disclosed. An evaluation value calculating section calculates an evaluation value at a dividing candidate position of the stream data based on an evaluation function. A comparing section compares the evaluation value calculated by the evaluation value calculating section with a predetermined threshold value. A dividing candidate position obtaining section obtains the dividing candidate position of the stream data in each predetermined unit. A controlling section decides a dividing position of the stream data based on a compared result of the comparing section. A controlling section causes the dividing candidate position obtaining section to obtain a second dividing candidate position when the compared result of the comparing section denotes that the evaluation value at the first dividing candidate position does not exceed the threshold value.
