  • Publication number: 20240004707
Abstract: An energy-efficient assignment of a task set T to a group of M processing devices models the process of deciding the assignment as a combinatorial optimization problem having an objective function optimizing the power consumption of the devices when executing subsets of the tasks, under a constraint that the total utilization of the task subset assigned to each respective processing device is lower than a threshold depending on the number of its processor cores. The objective function may be: min ?i=1M Pi(?i), where ?i denotes the subset of tasks allocated to the ith device, and Pi(?i) represents power consumption of the ith device when executing ?i, and the constraint U?i?Mi/4 for all the devices, where U?i is the total utilization of ?i executing on the ith device, and Mi denotes the number of cores of the ith device. Solving the problem using a MaxMin or genetic algorithm gives good energy efficiency.

  • Publication number: 20240004706
Abstract: According to a directed-acyclic-graph representation, each real-time task is decomposed into sub-tasks, and a timing diagram is generated representing execution of the sub-tasks on a schedule respecting their deadlines and dependencies assuming an infinite number of processor cores. The timing diagram is segmented based on sub-task release times and deadlines, and each segment includes one or more parallel threads. For each segment, dependent on its workload, the frequency and/or voltage is selected to be used by the processor node(s) that are to execute the one or more threads of the segment, so as to reduce power consumption consistent with respecting the sub-task deadlines. Execution of the sub-tasks of the segments is then scheduled assuming the processor-core frequencies and/or voltages set in the deciding step, preferably by a global earliest deadline first algorithm.

  • Patent number: 11827743
Abstract: Poly(aryl alkylene) polymers or poly(aryl-crown ether-alkylene) polymers with pendant cationic groups are provided which have an alkaline-stable cation, such as imidazolium, introduced into a rigid aromatic polymer backbone free of ether bonds. Hydroxide exchange membranes or hydroxide exchange ionomers formed from these polymers exhibit superior chemical stability, hydroxide conductivity, decreased water uptake, good solubility in selected solvents, and improved mechanical properties in an ambient dry state as compared to conventional hydroxide exchange membranes or ionomers. Hydroxide exchange membrane fuel cells and hydroxide exchange membrane electrolyzers comprising the poly(aryl alkylene) polymers or poly(aryl-crown ether-alkylene) polymers with pendant cationic groups exhibit enhanced performance and durability at relatively high temperatures.

  • Publication number: 20230367760
Abstract: Embodiments are directed to novel techniques for performing domain adaptation on time series data. Using embodiments, labeled source time series data can be used in order to label unlabeled target time series data as either normal or anomalous. Embodiments can accomplish this using an anomaly detector system comprising an anomaly detector component and a context sampler component. The context sampler can determine source and target window sizes used to sample data from the source and target data sets respectively. These samples can be input into the anomaly detector, which can label a target data value corresponding to the target sample as normal or anomalous. The anomaly detector can additionally generate a state value, which can be used by the context sampler to adjust the source and target window sizes accordingly. In this way, embodiments can accurately and automatically perform domain adaptation.
