  • Publication number: 20170093891
Abstract: A method for managing network traffic at a portable electronic device connected to a network that includes establishing a virtual network interface to queue network traffic originated by applications running on the device, monitoring the virtual network interface for queued data, assembling a data packet from the queued data, wherein at least some data in the data packet is intended for a node of the network, applying a first set of rules to the data packet, in accordance with a determination that application of the first set of rules triggers a predetermined response associated with the first set of rules, processing the data packet according to the predetermined response, and in accordance with a determination that application of the first set of rules does not trigger the predetermined response, forwarding at least a portion of the data packet to a connection with the node for transmission to the node.

  • Publication number: 20170071081
Abstract: A shield can assembly is described. In one or more implementations, a frame is installed on a printed circuit board (PCB) by using a cross-bar connected to opposing sides of the frame to place the frame on the PCB. Subsequent to installation of the frame on the PCB, the cross-bar is removed from the frame. Once the cross-bar is removed, one or more flexible printed circuits (FPCs) are installed on the PCB. Then, a lid is connected to the frame to from a shield can over the FPCs.

  • Patent number: 9328575
Abstract: A method of drilling a subsea wellbore includes drilling the wellbore by injecting drilling fluid through a tubular string extending into the wellbore from an offshore drilling unit (ODU) and rotating a drill bit disposed on a bottom of the tubular string. The method further includes, while drilling the wellbore: mixing lifting fluid with drilling returns at a flow rate proportionate to a flow rate of the drilling fluid, thereby forming a return mixture. The lifting fluid has a density substantially less than a density of the drilling fluid. The return mixture has a density substantially less than the drilling fluid density. The method further includes, while drilling the wellbore: measuring a flow rate of the returns or the return mixture; and comparing the measured flow rate to the drilling fluid flow rate to ensure control of a formation being drilled.

  • Patent number: 9085942
Abstract: The present invention embodies a drill pipe in which various damaged sections of the pipe are repaired in order to maintain or improve the wear and buckle resistance of the drill pipe. The sections are strengthened using various hardening methods such as heat treatment processes and/or expansion techniques. A sleeve can also be applied to the strengthened portions. Surface enhancers, such as hardbanding, can be applied to the strengthened portions or the sleeve in order to provide abrasion resistance or to reduce friction.

  • Publication number: 20140263085
Abstract: A continuously-operable flow stream processing system and method has two or more fluid processing media arranged in a fluid conduit network to provide alternate flow paths for a flow stream to be processed (e.g. filtered). Valves and other flow control devices, e.g. controller module and sensors, are used to redirect the flow stream from one or more service-needed fluid processing media to service-ready fluid processing media without taking the system offline to remove, repair, replace, clean in situ, or otherwise service the service-needed fluid processing media, so that the system may operate continuously to process the flow stream without stoppage. Redirection into alternative flow paths and media may be automatically implemented based on a predetermined threshold or trigger condition, such as may be detected by sensors directly or indirectly monitoring media condition.

  • Patent number: 8771434
Abstract: An artificial turf remover and infill separator comprising an artificial turf removing station, an infill separating station and an artificial turf collection station. The infill separating station comprises rotatable spinning devices comprises corners, wherein each corner comprises chain links. The artificial turf remover and infill separator is utilized by positioning a strip of artificial turf on an angular ramp, conveying the artificial turf over a first pair of rotatable rollers, conveying the artificial turf between a second pair of rotatable rollers, separating infill from the artificial turf via fin-shaped picks, square-shaped rotatable diggers and the rotatable spinning devices, wherein the chain links jostle the infill material from the artificial turf onto a first and second infill collection conveyor belt. The artificial turf is then conveyed over a first and second base roller, between a rear pair of counter-rotating rollers and then wound around a final artificial turf collection roller.
