  • Patent number: 8346601
Abstract: A system and method for processing promotional savings using existing communications platforms. A plurality of promotional codes are assigned and stored in a promotions database. These promotional codes are positioned by marketers on products, packaging, or the like, along with instructions informing consumers to transmit the promotional code to a predefined destination address, such as a phone number, a short code text number, or an email address. After a message containing the promotional code is received from the consumer, the received code is parsed from the message, validated, and a promotional savings value associated with the code is identified. That amount is communicated to an operator of at least one account associated the consumer, and applied as a savings to the operator's billing statement.

  • Publication number: 20120203638
Abstract: A campaign management system having a user interface that enables a content provider to initiate a request for a short code campaign, and identify information relating to the requested short code campaign; a first communication interface for communicating with a code registry; and a second communication interface for communicating with one or more carriers, each of which is capable of communicating with mobile devices using short code messaging. The campaign management system further includes a controller configured to receive the information for the requested short code campaign, reserve a short code with a code registry for use in the campaign via the first communication interface, activate the reserved short code with the one or more carriers via the second communication interface, and process messages received by the one or more carriers from end-users via the activated short code.

  • Publication number: 20120167986
Abstract: Photovoltaic modules comprising back-contact solar cells manufactured using monolithic module assembly techniques comprising a flexible circuit comprising a back sheet and a patterned metallization. The module may comprise busses in electrical contact with the patterned metallization to extract the current. The module may alternatively comprise multilevel metallizations. Interlayer dielectric comprising islands or dots relieves stresses due to thermal mismatch. The use of multiple cord plates enables flexible circuit layouts, thus optimizing the module. The modules preferably comprise a thermoplastic encapsulant and/or hybrid adhesive/solder materials. An ultrathin moisture barrier enables roll-to-roll processing.

  • Patent number: 8146564
Abstract: An engine assembly may include a cylinder head, an intake manifold assembly, first and second vanes, and an actuation mechanism. The first and second vanes may be rotatably coupled to the intake manifold assembly. The first vane may be located within an outlet of a first intake passage and the second vane may be located within an outlet of a second intake passage. The first and second vanes may be displaceable from an open position to a closed position. The first vane may extend along a wall defining the first intake passage when in the open position and the second vane may extend along a wall defining the second intake passage when in the open position. The actuation mechanism may be coupled to the first and second vanes to rotate the first and second vanes between the open and closed positions.

  • Publication number: 20120006930
Abstract: An artificial turf remover and infill separator comprising an artificial turf removing station, an infill separating station and an artificial turf collection station. The infill separating station comprises rotatable spinning devices comprises corners, wherein each corner comprises chain links. The artificial turf remover and infill separator is utilized by positioning a strip of artificial turf on an angular ramp, conveying the artificial turf over a first pair of rotatable rollers, conveying the artificial turf between a second pair of rotatable rollers, separating infill from the artificial turf via fin-shaped picks, square-shaped rotatable diggers and the rotatable spinning devices, wherein the chain links jostle the infill material from the artificial turf onto a first and second infill collection conveyor belt. The artificial turf is then conveyed over a first and second base roller, between a rear pair of counter-rotating rollers and then wound around a final artificial turf collection roller.

  • Patent number: 8037418
Abstract: A wireless communication device stores a system GUI configuration file and a downloaded service provider GUI configuration file, each of which contains a text name checksum value that is calculated using the text names of the GUI parameter data stored either the system GUI configuration file or the service provider GUI configuration file. The text name checksum values are based on the text names of the GUI parameter data. After the download operation is complete, a text name checksum comparator program compares the downloaded text name checksum value to the initial text name checksum value in the system GUI configuration file. If the two text name checksum values do not match, the downloaded service provider GUI configuration file is rejected.

  • Patent number: 7568664
Abstract: A pipe holder comprises a handle and a slant piece. The slant piece includes a handle attachment point, a mouth, and a support point. A centerline runs through the mouth and support point. The handle attachment point resides between the mouth and support point, and is configured to point the handle approximately orthogonal to the slant piece centerline. The mouth is sized and shaped to urge a pipe to reside in the mouth substantially orthogonal to the handle and at an angle other than 90 degrees from a plane of the slant piece. When an inserted end of the pipe is inserted through the mouth, a three point stance is formed by the support point, an opposite end of the pipe, and a support end of the handle. The inserted end of the pipe is thereby supported above the ground. The pipe holder is stabilized by stepping on the handle.

  • Publication number: 20080014050
Abstract: A non-circular can end for a container having walls which form an opening includes a corner-mounted pull tab opener secured to a severable panel portion by an integral rivet. The corner-mounted opener facilitates easy opening of the can end. A pair of generally parallel bead recesses on either side of the integral rivet stiffen the severable panel portion in order to facilitate bending of the panel aft of the rivet to easily open the can end. The severable panel optionally further includes a mustache-shaped scoreline to reduce the amount of force required to lift the opener. Tooling and a conversion press for converting shells into the non-circular can ends are also disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20070253521
Abstract: This invention provides a support for supporting a reflector for a high temperature gas cooled nuclear reactor. The support includes a plurality of straps which extend around the reflector. Each strap includes interconnected segments. The segments are formed of metal and the segments are formed of fibre reinforced ceramic so that the coefficient of thermal expansion of the strap corresponds to that of the reflector. The invention also provides a high temperature gas cooled nuclear reactor and a method of supporting a reflector of a high temperature gas cooled nuclear reactor.
