  • Publication number: 20220086712
Abstract: Embodiments include methods for a network node of a 3GPP RAN. Such methods include determining a configuration that enables a UE to steer the UE's traffic between the 3GPP RAN and a WLAN without receiving a traffic steering command from the 3GPP RAN. The configuration includes a forward traffic steering configuration comprising a first plurality of thresholds/conditions for which the UE, when connected to 3GPP RAN, can initiate steering at least some of the UE's traffic from 3GPP RAN to WLAN; and a backward traffic steering configuration comprising a second plurality of thresholds/conditions for which the UE, when connected to WLAN, can initiate steering at least some of the UE's traffic from WLAN to 3GPP RAN. The backward traffic steering configuration includes threshold(s)/condition(s) based on different values of a same parameter as threshold(s)/condition(s) of the forward traffic steering configuration. The configuration is sent to the UE in a single message.

  • Patent number: 11265136
Abstract: Example methods and apparatuses provide for the advantageous use of “first” and “second” indicators for cell state control with respect to a wireless communication device. When sent singularly, the first indicator indicates activated/deactivated state transitions according to corresponding sequential state transition logic implemented in the device, and the second indicator indicates activated/dormant state transitions according to corresponding sequential state transition logic implemented in the device. When sent Jointly for a given serving cell of the device, the first and second indicators operate as a combinational pair that indicates what the operational state of the cell shall be for the device, irrespective of the current cell state.

  • Patent number: 11252783
Abstract: A wireless device (300, 400), e.g., a wireless communication device (e.g., a UE) or a network node (e.g., an eNB) having a Medium Access Control (MAC) layer (410) and a physical (PHY) layer (430) configured to send/resend transmissions is presented herein. The MAC layer (410) sends transmissions to the PHY layer (430) for transmitting, by the PHY layer (430), to a remote wireless device (300, 400). The PHY layer (430) receives the transmission from the MAC layer (410), and attempts to send the transmission. The PHY layer (430) further indicates to the MAC layer (410) whether the attempt to send the transmission, by the PHY layer (430), was successful. Responsive to the indication, the MAC layer (410) determines whether the attempt, by the PHY layer (430), to send the transmission was successful. The MAC layer (410) then selectively indicates to the PHY layer (430) whether to attempt to resend the transmission responsive to the determination.

  • Patent number: 11246059
Abstract: A method performed by a transmitting device is disclosed herein. The transmitting device operates in a communications network. The transmitting device performs a reset on a buffer of the transmitting device. The transmitting device then switches, based on the performed reset, a first value in an indication to a second value. The indication is of the reset of the buffer. The transmitting device sets the indication to the second value for all packets generated by the transmitting device after the performed reset. This is set until the second value is switched again by the transmitting device in another indication, based on another performed reset of the buffer. The transmitting device then sends the indication with the second value to a receiving device operating in the communications network. The second value indicates that the reset was performed by the transmitting device.

  • Patent number: 11234120
Abstract: According to certain embodiments, a method by a wireless device for reporting a connection status is provide that includes receiving a message from a network node. The message may be related to a mobility set associated with the wireless device. The wireless device may determine that the wireless device is not connected to a WLAN access point included within a mobility set. A timer may be started, and the wireless device may attempt to establish a connection between the wireless device and at least one WLAN access point within the mobility set before an expiration of the timer. If the connection is established between the wireless device and the at least one WLAN access point within the mobility set before the expiration of the timer, the timer may be stopped. If the connection is not established between the wireless device and the at least one WLAN access point within the mobility set before the expiration of the timer, a report may be sent to a network node to indicate a connection failure.

  • Publication number: 20210323416
Abstract: A multi-motor switching system and method for obtaining a global optimization of performance criteria that takes into account variables and conditions across an entire driving cycle. The controller of the system is adapted to conduct a global optimization in that it determines the most optimal distribution of motor loads over an entire trip or driving cycle, as opposed to sequentially determining the optimized solution for a given point of time and localized set of current condition. In one embodiment where the control system provides for global optimization, the controller receives trip information through a trip planning tool. The controller utilizes the trip information to generate a driving cycle and further incorporates this information into the optimization process performed by the controller to determine the optimal solution for the entire trip.
