    Abstract: In a method for adapting a mobile network, a terminal is connected to a first access node of the mobile network via a first connection and to a second access node via a second connection. The first access node controls a data transmission for the terminal and the second access node assists in the data transmission for the terminal. The method comprises determining whether a quality of at least one of the first connection and the second connection is degraded, acquiring quality degradation information about the degradation of the quality of at least one of the first connection and the second connection based on the step of determining, and adapting the mobile network based on the step of acquiring.

    Abstract: A system for generating short-, medium, long-range and specific area and effect weather or climate forecasts by training a cluster of Al to “understand” the physics that effects the weather and running the clusters on a decentralized computing system or network. Individual modules for specific knowledge of different climate-variability phenomena can be integrated and interrogated to calculate the forecast based on a consensus of future predictions based on a subset of the clusters. The selection criteria determining which modules are deemed to fit may be adjusted to optimize the use of observations in forecasting specific climate variables or geographic regions in order to develop forecasts tailored to particular applications.

    Abstract: A wireless communication device (12) served by a wireless wide area network (WWAN) base station supports per-bearer switching of bearer traffic between the WWAN and a wireless local area network (WLAN) in a manner transparent to the WLAN. The device in this regard establishes a secure tunnel (24) through the WLAN to a security gateway (22), based on the device receiving a message from the WWAN base station (18) to establish the secure tunnel (24). The device switches bearer traffic between the WWAN and the WLAN on a per bearer basis, with bearer traffic switched to the WLAN being transported through the secure tunnel (24) and over a connection (26) between the security gateway (22) and the WWAN base station (18).

    Abstract: A multi-motor switching system and method for obtaining a global optimization of performance criteria that takes into account variables and conditions across an entire driving cycle. The controller of the system is adapted to conduct a global optimization in that it determines the most optimal distribution of motor loads over an entire trip or driving cycle, as opposed to sequentially determining the optimized solution for a given point of time and localized set of current condition. In one embodiment where the control system provides for global optimization, the controller receives trip information through a trip planning tool. The controller utilizes the trip information to generate a driving cycle and further incorporates this information into the optimization process performed by the controller to determine the optimal solution for the entire trip.

    Abstract: A method performed by a transmitting device is disclosed herein. The transmitting device operates in a communications network. The transmitting device performs a reset on a buffer of the transmitting device. The transmitting device then switches, based on the performed reset, a first value in an indication to a second value. The indication is of the reset of the buffer. The transmitting device sets the indication to the second value for all packets generated by the transmitting device after the performed reset. This is set until the second value is switched again by the transmitting device in another indication, based on another performed reset of the buffer. The transmitting device then sends the indication with the second value to a receiving device operating in the communications network. The second value indicates that the reset was performed by the transmitting device.
