    Abstract: A device for measuring the flow rate of air includes an electric heater arranged in a path of the air flow and a temperature compensation resistor arranged at a distance from the heater in the path of the air flow, the resistance of the resistor being changed according to the temperature of the air. A selective current supply unit supplied the heater with a current having a current value selected from one of two, large and small, current values. A temperature selection unit selects a plurality of temperature values of the electric heater according to the change of the resistance of the temperature compensation resistor. A current value switching unit switches the current level of the selective current supply under the condition that one of the selected temperature values is attained or maintained.

    Abstract: A device for driving a load reactance element, such as a piezoelectric actuator for a fuel injection system, including a series reactance element connected in series with the load reactance element, and a resonance circuit formed by the load reactance and the series reactance. Each of the first and second switching elements is rendered conductive only during a half cycle of resonance. The directions of the load current flowing through the load reactance element are switchable by making alternately the first and second switching elements conductive.

    Abstract: A coated layer type resistor device having a first resistor element and a second resistor element. The ratio between the resistances of the first and second resistor elements is selected to be greater than a predetermined ratio. The first resistor element is formed on an insulator substrate and consists of a resistor layer and end conductor electrodes at the ends of the resistor layer, while the second resistor element is formed on the substrate and consists of a resistor layer, end conductor electrodes, and a plurality of intermediate conductors. The distance between adjacent ones of the intermediate conductors and the distance between one of the end conductor electrodes and the adjacent intermediate conductor in the second resistor element is equal to the distance between the end conductor electrodes in the first resistor element, so that the temperature coefficient property of the resistance is equal in both the first and second resistor elements.

    Abstract: An ignition device for an internal combustion engine has a DC power source, first and second switching elements, a control signal generator for the switching elements, an ignition coil, and spark gaps. A first part of a primary coil of the ignition coil, a capacitor, the DC power source, and the first switching element form a closed circuit. A second part of the primary coil and the second switching element form another closed circuit. The signal generator generates ON signals for alternately turning on the first and second switching signals at predetermined timings based on an ignition command signal. The ignition performance of this ignition device for an internal combustion engine is improved.

    Abstract: In a fuel supply control apparatus for an internal-combustion engine, liquid fuel is vaporized and is supplied to a fuel gas passage leading to an intake air passage. The flow rate of the vaporized fuel flowing through the fuel gas passage is detected, and the flow rate of the fuel is calculated in accordance with the load of the engine. As a result, feedback control of the fuel to be supplied to the engine is carried out so that the detected flow rate of the vaporized fuel is close to the calculated flow rate of the fuel.

    Abstract: A method for measuring the flow rate of fluid such as liquified petroleum gas fuel for an automobile fuel. A signal of the fluid flow rate and a signal of the fluid temperature are produced by using the signals from an electric heater and a first, second, and third temperature-dependent resistors in a signal processing circuit. The produced signals are supplied to a computer circuit to carry out modification, linearization, and multiplication by a conversion constant for linearization which is corrected regarding temperature characteristic. The result of calculation in the computer circuit is displayed on a display device.

    Abstract: A pair of power transistors in a push-pull connection are connected with a pair of primary coils of a transformer acting as an ignition coil. Between the neutral point of the pair of the primary coils and a power source at least one diode is connected. The paired power transistors are turned on and off with a high frequency to generate in the secondary coil of the transformer high voltage trigger pulses and substantially continuous discharge voltages which last over a long period during each ignition period.

    Abstract: Two closed circuits respectively are each comprised of a primary coil of a transformer for plug ignition, a transistor, a diode, a resistor and a common power source. When one of the transistors is conductive during the ignition period, the current in the related closed circuit increases. When the increased current appearing across the associated resistor exceeds a reference value, the associated comparator renders the conducting transistor nonconductive while it renders the other nonconductive transistor conductive, whereby the transistors continues a push-pull operation at given periods. Each diode is inserted either between the associated primary coil and the associated transistor or between the associated primary coil and the common power source.
