  • Publication number: 20170100542
Abstract: A syringe cartridge comprising a reservoir part and an extension extending from said reservoir part, said extension defining a fluid path and comprising a molding and a first needle extending from said molding, the extension turning to a finite angle with respect to an axis of said reservoir part and wherein at least part of said first needle is likewise at said finite angle, at least some of said part of said first needle at said finite angle being enclosed within said molding of said fluid path. A drug delivery device may be used with the cartridge and includes a skin-contacting surface. In use the longitudinal axis of the interior of the cartridge may be disposed substantially parallel to the skin-contacting surface.

  • Publication number: 20170080158
Abstract: A method and system are disclosed for driving a plunger in a drug reservoir. In some embodiments, a variable friction element interconnects between a pushing shaft and a wall of the reservoir. For example, rotation of a driving element in a first direction relative to the pushing shaft may advance the pushing shaft in the reservoir. The friction element may have increased friction resistance to rotation of the pushing shaft in the first direction in comparison to frictional resistance to advancing the pushing shaft. For example, the increased friction may result from wedging a radial element between the pushing shaft and the wall of the reservoir.

  • Publication number: 20160296716
Abstract: A method and system for a drug delivery device with multiple status indicators is disclosed. For example the device may include an operator indicator and/or second indicator. The indicators may be seen in one location. For example they may be viewed through one optical path. Optionally the operator indicator may attract attention. The operator indicator may give information that is pertinent to operation of the device to an operator of the system. The operator indicator may have an encoded output signal. Optionally a second indicator may convey information that is not conveyed by the user operator by the operator indicator, for example information that is not pertinent to the regular operation of the machine. Alternatively or additional, the second indicator may function at times when operator indicator is not functioning.

  • Publication number: 20160235915
Abstract: The application concerns an autoinjector comprising a syringe, a driver for driving the plunger of the syringe and a stabilising adaptor for holding the injector on the skin of a patient. The stabilising adaptor has an adhesive base with a long axis to short axis ratio of at least 1.5 to 1. The syringe is orientated with its axis at an angle of between 60 and 120 degrees to the base during operation of the autoinjector.

  • Publication number: 20160228652
Abstract: An aspect of some embodiments of the present invention relates to a needle safety mechanism for an autoinjector. Optionally, an unshielded needle may be safeguarded when there is a change in resistance discharging the injector payload. The needle may optionally be safeguarded by retraction to a protected space and/or by deployment of a needle shield. Optionally the stress that prompts safeguarding the needle may include a torque and/or a linear stress.

  • Patent number: 9393369
Abstract: In accordance with some embodiments of the present invention an automated injection device may be loaded with a standard type syringe and/or hypodermic needle. Optionally the syringe may be supplied loaded with medicine and/or covered with a sterile needle cover. The syringe may be loaded into the injector with in a sterile state with needle cover in place. Injector may include for example a fastener (for example an adhesive base). In some embodiments, the fastener may assist a user to hold injector steady on the skin of a patient for an extended period. For example, injector may be used to give injections of volume ranging between 0.5 and 3.0 ml over a time period ranging between 30 sec to 180 sec.
