  • Publication number: 20220226942
Abstract: A bracket presenter for an ultrasonic welder includes a one-piece first bracket portion and a one-piece second bracket portion mounted relative to one another. First and second tapered features are respectively provided by the first and second bracket portions and are nested relative to one another. The first and second tapered features engage in an extended position and are spaced from one another in a compressed position to provide a clearance enabling the first and second bracket portions to float lateral relative to one another. A spring biases the first and second bracket portions apart.

  • Publication number: 20220200512
Abstract: An electric drive system includes a controller and an inverter having a switch and a current sensor. The controller reduces power output of the inverter while a sensed temperature of the switch, a sensed current from the inverter, and parameter values of the current sensor are indicative of a predicted temperature of the current sensor being greater than a threshold to maintain inverter temperature lower than the threshold. The parameter values are obtainable from a thermal model of the current sensor. The thermal model is derived from testing a test version of the inverter under different drive cycles in which for each drive cycle a set of information is recorded including a sensed temperature of a switch of the inverter test version, a sensed current output from the inverter test version, and a sensed temperature of a current sensor of the inverter test version.

  • Patent number: 11305949
Abstract: Automated tray handling systems and methods may include robotic systems having various end effectors to move trays relative to item sortation systems. For example, the robotic systems may include robotic arms and gantry systems. In addition, the various end effectors may include dual end effectors and passthrough end effectors. The dual end effectors may lift, move, and place trays by engaging and clamping onto flanges of the trays. The passthrough end effectors may lift, move, and place trays through an interior of the end effectors by engaging and pulling or pushing flanges, edges, or other surfaces of the trays. The various automated tray handling systems and methods may increase the speed and efficiency of such processes while also reducing or minimizing the space required for such systems.

  • Publication number: 20210389315
Abstract: Early stage, rapid, low-cost, and accurate detection of disease components in a biological fluid is critically important. A point of care device can use functionalized magnetic beads to facilitate this detection. The device can include a sample holder with a collection region. A magnet can be used to draw the functionalized nanoparticles bound to the disease component into the collection region, where the disease component is captured. A light source can shine a light beam through the collection region; and a detector can detect the light beam after traversing the collection region to determine whether the disease component is present in the sample.

  • Patent number: 11156971
Abstract: The INTERIOR COMFORT HVAC USER-FEEDBACK CONTROL SYSTEM AND APPARATUS transforms qualitative feedback received from a user/occupant into a “comfort map,” or modifications thereto, a comfort map being defined at least in part by one or more comfort event windows. • Patent number: 11156572
Abstract: A processor-implemented method of controlling an HVAC system transforms a comfort map into a plurality of sequential constant-temperature segments that are used in generating a control temperature sequence that preserves occupant comfort while improving energy efficiency. The method balances user comfort, temperature trajectory execution complexity, operational HVAC trajectory realization, and energy efficiency. The system achieves this balance through utilization of comfort map metric data, analysis and control system execution. The system, comfort map metric data processing and analysis facilitates this balance by executing a control temperature sequence/temperature trajectories developed based on direct user comfort feedback data within the context of a comfort map and thermal equilibrium boundaries derived from the comfort map.
