  • Patent number: 6740024
Abstract: The folding station of a rotary printing press has a folding cylinder on which the printed paper web is cut into sections. Mounted opposite the folding cylinder, a jaw cylinder has cut in its surface several jaw cavities each extending parallel to the jaw cylinder axis for receiving the midpart of the web section as the same is inserted therein by a folding blade on the folding cylinder. Each jaw cavity has mounted therein a series of fixed jaw parts and a series of movable jaw parts, the latter being jointly movable toward and away from the former for engaging and folding the midpart of the web section. The two outmost ones of the movable jaw parts are positioned closer to the fixed jaw parts than are the other, medial movable jaw parts, in order to more firmly engage the margins of the web section without causing ink offset between the contacting surfaces of the image areas of the web section.

  • Patent number: 6709376
Abstract: A jaw cylinder in a jaw folder is provided. A first base (1) includes a stationary member (11) in a jaw mechanism. A second base (2) includes a swing member (21) having a jaw portion accessible to the jaw portion of the stationary member (11). A third base (3) has end axes (31a, 31b) at both ends and is rotatably supported by the end axes (31a, 31b) on a pair of opposite frames (Fa, Fb). The first (1) and second (2) bases are rotatably located on the third base (3) about the rotational centerline of the third base (3) relative to the third base (3). The first (1), second (2) and third (3) bases synchronously rotate to move the swing member (21) close to and apart from the stationary member (11) to grip a print therebetween. • Publication number: 20040005056
Abstract: An optical system of a transmission device for quantum cryptograph includes a Faraday mirror and a phase modulator. The phase modulator has multiple refractivity, and it is inevitable to lose an extreme amount of input due to the configuration of the optical path. As a result, the S/N ratio is reduced, which makes an adjustment at start time difficult. A light pulse incident to the transmission device includes two light pulses of the TE polarization wave and the TM polarization wave for a phase modulator 8. The light pulse of the TE polarization wave is changed to the TM polarization wave by a Faraday mirror 7, and the TM polarization wave is changed to the TE polarization wave by rotating the polarization plate and reflecting by the Faraday mirror 7, and output from the transmission device. Two polarization beam splitters 5 and 6 are used so that the light pulse of the TM polarization wave should bypass the phase modulator 8. Only light pulse of the TE polarization wave is carried to the phase modulator 8.

  • Patent number: 6673004
Abstract: A continuous web of printed paper is cut by a cutting cylinder into discrete sheets on being wrapped around part of a folding cylinder. The folding cylinder has sets of the folding blade in the cavity each aligned parallel to the cylinder axis and all arranged at constant circumferential spacings. Each folding blade is movable radially of the folding cylinder for pushing one sheet of printed paper off the cylinder surface in the middle of the sheet. Disposed opposite the folding cylinder, a jaw cylinder has cavities opening to its surface at constant circumferential spacings, each for receiving the midpart of the sheet being pushed by the folding blade in the cavity. Each cavity has a movable jaw arranged therein for pivotal motion toward and away from a fixed jaw in order to crease the sheet. An indentation is formed in the fixed jaw so as to be in opposed relationship to the insert part of the folding blade on the folding cylinder in the cavity as the folding blade is inserted in the cavity with the sheet.

  • Publication number: 20030235652
Abstract: The precoat film forming method of a film forming device having a loading table for loading the object, includes a deposition step of feeding processing gas inside the film forming device and depositing a precoat TiN film on the surface of the loading table and a stabilization step of reducing and stabilizing the precoat film on the loading table, wherein the precoat film formed on the loading table at the deposition step has a film thickness within a range such that even if the film thickness of the precoat film changes, a radiation heat quantity from the loading table becomes generally constant. Therefore, as the thermal stability is maintained at the film forming process of semiconductor wafers, it is possible to improve the reproducibility in the film forming process.

  • Publication number: 20030184840
Abstract: In case of the high-speed operation, it is difficult to ignore the time required for the voltage to rise to the level of voltage to be applied and the time to fall to 0V when the voltage is applied to the phase modulator. The first phase modulator 71 and the second phase modulator 73 are connected in parallel, and the optical path is switched by the switching unit 55 of the control unit 51 between the first optical switch 33 and the second optical switch 35. The switching unit 55 of the control unit 51 supplies the phase modulation data 31 stored in the phase modulation data memory 53 to the first voltage generating unit 57 or the second voltage generating unit 59 to generate the voltage necessary for the phase modulation.

  • Publication number: 20030165620
Abstract: The precoat film forming method has the deposition step of feeding processing gas into the film forming device having the loading table structure 18 internally which has the loading table 16 for loading the article W to be processed and depositing the precoat film 22 composed of a TiN film on the surface of the loading table and the stabilization step of exposing and stabilizing the precoat film in NH3 (ammonia) containing gas by keeping the loading table at a temperature higher than the temperature at the deposition step. By doing this, the precoat film is stabilized, thereby even during a period of idling, there is no need to lower the temperature of the loading table and the throughput can be improved.

  • Patent number: 6564480
Abstract: In a working apparatus, a recessed portion is formed at an end surface of a pin provided at a boom to house a case of an angle sensor in the recessed portion. A flange is projected from the case along the direction of the axis of an input shaft so as to enclose the input shaft outside the movement range of a lever. By projecting the flange further out than the distance over which the input axis projects out, the protection provided by the flange for the input shaft is enhanced.
