Publication number: 20010010249Abstract: A machine and process are disclosed for bonding an elastic member to a moving substrate web while the elastic member is in an un-stretched condition. The machine provides for upwardly folding a moving substrate web along a longitudinal centerline while maintaining the side edge regions of the web in a flat un-folded or un-gather condition. An elastic member is applied to the moving web while the elastic member is un-stretched, applying the first and second end regions of the elastic member to the respective first and second side edge regions of the moving web. The end regions of the elastic member are next bonded to the side edges of the web, leaving the remainder of the elastic member un-bonded to the web. The web is then un-folded or un-gathered to its first normal width, stretching the bonded elastic member. At least a portion of the remainder of the elastic member previously un-bonded to the web is then bonded to the web, and the stretched elastic member is allowed to relax.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 5, 2001Publication date: August 2, 2001Inventor: Patrick Sean McNichols

Publication number: 20010010279Abstract: A damping force control type hydraulic shock absorber capable of generating stable damping force even if the flow rate of hydraulic fluid changes sharply. A slider is slidably fitted in a piston bolt. Valve members are secured to both ends of the slider to form extension and compression pressure control valves for controlling the pressure of hydraulic fluid between upstream and downstream ports provided in the piston bolt. Hydraulic fluid chambers at the respective ends of the valve members are cut off from the downstream ports of the extension and compression pressure control valves by flange portions of the valve members. When the flow rate of hydraulic fluid increases sharply, even if the pressure in the downstream ports changes sharply owing to the flow resistance in check valves on the downstream side of the downstream ports, the pressure is not transmitted to the hydraulic fluid chambers. Therefore, there is no possibility of the slider moving under the influence of such a pressure change.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 30, 2000Publication date: August 2, 2001Inventors: Takuya Matsumoto, Takashi Nezu

In the process of the present invention, the low boiler fraction is taken off at the top of the distillation apparatus. The intermediate-boiling pure fraction is obtained at a side offtake which is preferably provided with droplet precipitators. In addition, the gas loading of the distillation column is restricted so that the operating pressure is in the range from 2 to 30 bar and the F factor does not exceed 2.0 Pa0.5.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 24, 2001Publication date: August 2, 2001Inventors: Karl-Heinz Wostbrock, Gerd Kaibel, Christian Tragut, Gabriele Anken

Publication number: 20010010290Abstract: A limiting-current-type hydrocarbon sensor comprising a solid electrolyte formed of a barium-cerium-based oxide, capable of detecting hydrocarbon stably and accurately regardless of whether no oxygen is present or a high concentration of oxygen is present. The cathode on the surface of the solid electrolyte is formed of an alloyed layer including Au and Al. In particular, an alloyed layer including an Al—Au intermediate phase is suited for the alloyed layer of the cathode. The alloyed layer comprises a first layer including an Al—Au intermediate phase and making contact with the surface of the solid electrolyte and a second layer including a metal Al phase and covering the first layer. The Al phase of the alloyed layer blocks oxygen, and the Al—Au intermediate phase smoothens hydrogen association and reduces the resistance of the electrode. The hydrocarbon sensor can thus detect hydrocarbon accurately even when oxygen is included in an atmosphere.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 13, 2001Publication date: August 2, 2001Inventor: Noboru Taniguchi

Publication number: 20010010291Abstract: A tool holder device comprises a main board, a slide seat releasably engaged with the main board and including a plurality of pegs, and a tool holder including a plurality of receptacles with different diameters for releasably holding wrenches of various sizes. The tool holder is releasably engaged with the slide seat. Each receptacle includes a resilient holding member for releasably holding an associated wrench in place. When the tool holder is engaged with the slide seat, each peg of the-slide seat is received in an associated receptacle of the tool holder, and a wrench received in the tool holder rests on an associated peg with the wrench being not held by an associated holding means, thereby allowing ready removal of the wrench from the tool holder.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 21, 2000Publication date: August 2, 2001Inventor: Bobby Hu

Publication number: 20010010292Abstract: The invention provides an improvement in a pellicle container for containing a framed pellicle conventionally made from a plastic resin, which is mounted on a photolithographic photomask for dust-proof protection thereof. A serious problem in the plastic resin-made container is adsorption or deposition of organic matters emitted from the container body by or on the pellicle membrane during storage or transportation resulting in a decrease in the light transmission as well as accelerated degradation of the pellicle membrane to the light of an extremely short wavelength for patternwise exposure in the photolithography while this problem can be solved by the improvement of the invention according to which at least the surface layer of the container surfaces facing the space for containing the framed pellicle is formed from an inorganic material, e.g., metals, glass materials and ceramics, free from emission of any organic matters.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 3, 2001Publication date: August 2, 2001Applicant: SHIN-ETSU CHEMICAL CO., LTD.Inventor: Toru Shirasaki

Publication number: 20010010294Abstract: The process is designed for the flotation of interfering materials from an aqueous fibrous pulp suspension and is in particular used in the processing of printed or used paper that is otherwise contaminated. The separation of gas bubbles of the suspension occurs in a flotation layer that has a maximum thickness of approximately 100 mm. The process also achieves good flotation results in fibrous pulp suspensions that have a fiber pulp content significantly larger than 1 % by weight, for example around 2% by weight. A flotation apparatus is provided for performing the flotation process. The apparatus includes a flotation vessel, an inlet, an outlet, and a skimmer device.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 19, 2001Publication date: August 2, 2001Applicant: VOITH SULZER PAPIERTECHNIK PATENT GmbHInventors: Herbert Britz, Axel Gommel, Herbert Holik, Martin Kemper, Almut Kriebel, Wolfgang Mannes, Boris Reinholdt, Klaus Steinbild
