Abstract: A method is provided for improving the wiping capabilities of a windshield wiper by causing the windshield wiper blade to vibrate or oscillate in a direction parallel to the longitudinal centerline of the blade during a windshield wiper sweep. The vibrating mode causes less wear on the blade due to windshield abrasion since the blade edge does not contact the same eroded point on the windshield all the time. Secondly, any debris that is caught underneath the blade is quickly ejected due to the vibrating action. In one embodiment, an electromechanical vibrating unit is secured at one or more positions to the blade, with the actuator being driven by a 12-volt source and provided with a quickie disconnect at the center of the blade support structure.

Abstract: An insert is provided for a mop bucket application to capture dirty water and/or clean water during floor mopping. The insert can be made of flexible PVC vinyl or of a similar substance giving the user the ability to quickly install the insert into a mop bucket. When the insert has collected the dirty water, the wringer can be quickly removed. Since the insert's bottom is flat, it will remain upright even when unsupported. The insert and contained dirty water can easily be removed by lifting the handles on the insert's two sides. The slick inside surface of the insert enables the dirty water to be poured with ease in a direct, substantially v-shaped stream. The structure of the insert preferably includes a body section which is connected at its two ends. A bottom portion forms a base for the body section, and side handles are affixed to the upper edge of the body section. A handle is secured to the outer side of the bottom portion.

  • Publication number: 20070022564
Abstract: A vacuum bag hold-down arrangement for a dust collection system maintains a negative pressure in the space between a dust collection drum and a plastic film liner or bag in the drum. A cyclonic separator at the station separates the dust from an air flow and deposits it into the liner in the drum. The hold-down arrangement employs a vacuum pump producing about 1 to 3 psig negative pressure. A vacuum conduit extends from the pump through a penetration in the drum and into the space between wall of the drum and the liner bag. A porous pad, e.g., open cell foam, is situated over the vacuum conduit and separates the bag liner from the vacuum conduit. This distributes the air flow into the vacuum conduit and creates a more uniform grip of the liner or bag to the drum.

Abstract: A method of manufacturing a stator of a rotating electric machine includes a conductor end shaping process for shaping multiple lead wires aligned side by side in a single layer into a specific form in a plane in which the lead wires are initially aligned before a flat-patterned winding assembly configured by aligning multiple line conductors side by side and shaping the line conductors in spiral form is fitted into multiple slots formed in a flat stator core plate. The shaping process includes the steps of shaping the lead wires into bent form by using a stairstep conductor shaping jig under conditions where the lead wires are separated from one another along a direction generally perpendicular to the plane in which the lead wires are initially aligned, and causing the lead wires to return to positions in the initial alignment plane thereof by removing the stairstep conductor shaping jig.

Abstract: A first part formed of a first material is positioned to a second part formed of a second material, which is different from the first material in degree of modification due to environmental variation, by contacting surfaces of the first and second parts. At least three projections are formed on the contact surface of the first part along a circle whose center is coincident with a reference point. Grooves are formed on the contact surface of the second part so that the respective projections are fitted therein and that have wall surfaces to which the projections can contact at the inner and outer sides of the projections. The width of the grooves is determined so that the projections contact the inner or outer wall surface of the grooves even when the first and second parts deform in different degrees due to environmental variation.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus are provided for sensing physical parameters. The apparatus comprises a magnetic tunnel junction (MTJ) and a magnetic field source whose magnetic field overlaps the MTJ and whose proximity to the MTJ varies in response to an input to the sensor. A magnetic shield is provided at least on a face of the MFS away from the MTJ. The MTJ comprises first and second magnetic electrodes separated by a dielectric configured to permit significant tunneling conduction therebetween. The first magnetic region has its spin axis pinned and the second magnetic electrode has its spin axis free. The magnetic field source is oriented closer to the second magnetic electrode than the first magnetic electrode. The overall sensor dynamic range is extended by providing multiple electrically coupled sensors receiving the same input but with different individual response curves and desirably but not essentially formed on the same substrate.

Abstract: An antifuse including a bottom plate having a plurality of longitudinal members arranged substantially parallel to a first axis, a dielectric layer formed on the bottom plate, and a top plate having a plurality of longitudinal members arranged substantially parallel to a second axis, the top plate formed over the dielectric layer. Multiple edges formed at the interfaces between the top and bottom plates result in regions of localized charge concentration when a programming voltage is applied across the antifuse. As a result, the formation of the antifuse dielectric over the corners of the bottom plates enhance the electric field during programming of the antifuse. Reduced programming voltages can be used in programming the antifuse and the resulting conductive path between the top and bottom plates will likely form along the multiple edges.

Abstract: A terminal inserting device is provided, by which pulling force to pull a terminal fitting can be changed after the terminal fitting is inserted. The terminal inserting device includes an inserting unit and a control device. The inserting unit includes a front chuck unit and electric wire chuck unit, by which an electric wire is chucked and a terminal fitting attached to the electric wire is inserted into a terminal-receiving chamber of a connector housing. The electric wire chuck unit includes a pair of electric wire chucks, an insertion motor and an air cylinder. The electric wire chucks chuck the electric wire therebetween. The insertion motor pulls the terminal fitting after the terminal fitting is inserted in the terminal-receiving chamber. The air cylinder changes force which brings the pair of the electric wire chucks close to the connector housing so that pulling force to pull the terminal fitting can be changed. The control device controls the air cylinder to change the pulling force.

Abstract: The present invention is directed toward methods of fabricating components for microelectronic devices, microelectronic devices including memory cells or other components, and computers including memory devices. For example, one embodiment is directed toward a method of fabricating a memory cell on a workpiece having a substrate, a plurality of active areas in the substrate, and a dielectric layer over the active areas. One embodiment of the method includes constructing bit line contact openings in the dielectric layer over first portions of the active areas and cell plug openings over second portions of the active areas. The method also includes depositing a first conductive material into the bit line contact openings to form bit line contacts and into the cell plug openings to form cell plugs. This embodiment continues by forming a trench through an upper portion of a plurality of the bit line contacts and portions of the dielectric layer between bit line contacts.
