Abstract: The invention relates to a device for protecting pilots and other crew members of high-performance aircrafts, especially people wearing pressure suits (1) according to the hydrostatic principle with veins (6) filled with liquid. Said device consists of a tension pocket (2) located in the region of the back and a pressure pocket (3) located in the abdominal region, airtight bladders (4) being inserted into both pockets. Said bladders (4) contain woven spacer elements (5) defining a minimum air volume in the bladders (4). In the event of falling ambient pressure, the pressure pocket (3) first expands and supports the breathing of the person wearing the device by means of pressure on the viscera, when pressure respiration appliances are used. If the ambient pressure falls further, the tension pocket (2) inflates and increases the peripheral tension in the pressure suit (1). In this way, for example, a decompression syndrome can be counteracted in the event of a sudden pressure drop in the cabin at high altitude.

Each of these sections provides custom stretch characteristics using one or two yarns providing a tight glove that provides flexibility and ease of movement. The variable stitch dimension is achieved by 1) varying the depth of penetration of the knitting needle into fabric being knitted by a computer program, 2) adjusting the tension of yarn between a pinch roll and knitting head by a mechanism controlled by a computer and 3) casting off or picking up additional stitches in a course. The glove includes five finger components made from at least ten separately knitted sections, two palm components each made from at least two separately knitted sections, and a wrist component made from at least one knitted section.

A one-piece protective panel is attached to the palmar side of the glove. The protective panel covers portions of the wearing hand palm corresponding to the distal ends of the second through fifth metacarpal bones, as well as palmar side portions of the second through fifth digits corresponding to the second through fifth proximal phalanx bones. Flex notch cut-outs in the protective panel correspond to portions of the palmar region which tend to bunch during gripping of a bar or other object and help prevent discomfort during such gripping.

The ornamental assembly (100) has a base (102) with a generally concave lower surface (104). The lower surface includes a central recess (106) that houses a connector (120), for example a rare earth magnet. The connector engages the cap button (94), in one embodiment pulling the button into the recess. The ornamental assembly also includes an ornamental member (130) that connects to the base, for example with a post (224) by a friction fit or the like. The ornamental member (130) may be removable, whereby a number of different ornamental members may be selectively attached to the base (102) and cap (90) at different times.

Abstract: A method of making an article of headwear comprises forming a first fabric member such that a first intermediate portion extends between a first end portion and a second end portion. The method further includes forming a second fabric member having a first edge opposing a second edge and extending between a third end portion and a fourth end portion. Additionally, the method includes attaching the third end portion and the fourth end portion to the first intermediate portion so as to define a first opening and an opposing second opening between the first fabric member and the second fabric member. The first edge of the second fabric member and the first end portion and the second end portion at least partially define the first opening, while the second edge and the first intermediate portion define the second opening. Another aspect includes an article of headwear formed by this method.

The brim has a hole configured for allowing passage of the wearer's hair therethrough.

The combination changing and Atoileting station comprises a toilet assembly, and a changing table assembly removably attached to toilet assembly. The toilet assembly and changing table assembly are adjustable between a first position for use as a changing table, and a second position for use as a toileting station. A method of using a toilet liner with a portable toilet apparatus is also disclosed.

Abstract: A hinge assembly for coupling a spa cover to a spa includes a mounting bracket disposed near a top of the spa, a support arm which is pivotably coupled to the mounting bracket about an axis of rotation, and a spring member disposed between the mounting bracket and the support arm. The spa cover is movable between a fully closed position and a fully open position. The support arm is attached on an outside surface of the spa cover at a vertical offset from the axis of rotation when the spa cover is in the fully closed position. The spring member, which may be a gas spring, forms an angle of less than approximately 45 degrees with respect to the top of the spa when the spa cover is in the fully open position. A metal plate may be affixed using a double sided tape on an outside surface of the spa cover, and then anchored to the spa cover. The metal plate may be used to attach the support arm to the spa cover.

A child-proof manual override may be provided for disengaging the audible alarm. The body may further include a closing mechanism for attaching the spout cover to the faucet in a temporary, non-marring, non-residue attachment manner. The audible alarm may be a progressive audible temperature alarm with varied levels of activation corresponding to the severity of the scald condition sensed. The display is mounted in a manner visible from any viewing height above the faucet. The spout cover features may be incorporated directly into a safety spout.

The box spring wrap also has decking, of a different material than the unbroken-loop material, serving as a top panel of the wrap when installed on a box spring; alternatively, the strip and decking may a unitary piece of unbroken-loop material. A strap of material that is attachable to the unbroken-loop material of the box spring wrap, or to the underside of the box spring itself, may be provided to secure the box spring wrap at the underside of the box spring. The dust ruffle of the system has hook fasteners attached to the reverse side along the top, and thus may be attached at any height of the box spring.

Abstract: A resilient windshield wiper assembly is disclosed which comprises a resilient wind-deflector portion molded or extruded to provide a receiving hollow for insertion of a support beam. The resilient wind-deflector portion has a feature strategically positioned and structurally effective to prevent the resilient portion from being rotated or twisted around the support beam. The wind deflector is symmetrical with respect to the axial orientation of the support beam. The symmetry allows conversion of the wind force components from lifting forces to normal forces acting to press and/or hold the wiper against the wiper surface even when subjected to side gusts or reverse head-wind forces. The symmetry further provides a strength member acting directly over the top of the wiping lip surface avoiding introducing a twisting force into the support beam.
