Abstract: A hinge device for a portable terminal including a first housing, a second housing foldably coupled to the first housing is disclosed. The hinge device causes the first housing and the second housing to be rotatably coupled in such a manner that both housings are either rotated away from each other, or both housings are rotated close to each other. The hinge device includes a hinge shaft fixed to one of the first housing or the second housing. The hinge shaft has a first cam surface on one surface. A hinge cam is movably coupled on the other housing of the first housing and the second housing and has a second cam surface opposite to the first cam surface. An elastic member provides an elastic force in such a way as to cause the second cam surface to contact the first cam surface. The first cam surface has a first peak portion, and the second cam surface has a stopper groove.

Abstract: An apparatus for producing core packets used in the foundry industry wherein a plurality of tools for shooting cores are arranged on a rotary table so that the tools can be serially moved between a shooting station and a removal station where the cores are removed and assembled to form core packets on an assembly line. A plurality of shooting caps are provided, each comprising a sand store and a shooting plate, and the shooting caps are mounted on a second rotary table so that they can be selectively moved to the shooting station in coordination with the movement of the tools.

Abstract: The present invention relates, in general, to a method for three-dimensional (3D) microfabrication of complex, high aspect ratio structures with arbitrary surface height profiles in metallic materials, and to devices fabricated in accordance with this process. The method builds upon anisotropic deep etching methods for metallic materials previously developed by the inventors by enabling simplified realization of complex, non-prismatic structural geometries composed of multiple height levels and sloping and/or non-planar surface profiles. The utility of this approach is demonstrated in the fabrication of a sloping electrode structure intended for application in bulk micromachined titanium micromirror devices, however such a method could find use in the fabrication of any number of other microactuator, microsensor, microtransducer, or microstructure devices as well.

Abstract: Method and apparatus are disclosed for flow control over Point-to-Point Protocol (PPP) data links. A method of negotiating such flow control between two PPP peers is disclosed, along with methods for operating flow control across a PPP link. In one embodiment, flow control frames carry an IEEE802.3x MAC control frame payload—the PPP implementation repackages such frames as MAC control frames and passes them to a MAC, which performs flow control. In another embodiment, flow control frames allow flow control commands to be applied differently to different service classes such that PPP flow can be controlled on a per-class basis.

Abstract: In a method and apparatus for staking a hardened shaft in bores in a hydraulic lifter body, the shaft is inserted into the bores such that the shaft ends are substantially flush with the bore exits which are slightly chamfered to receive staked material displaced from the shaft. Mechanical rams that also define a first electrode are advanced axially of the shaft into contact with the shaft ends. A second electrode is brought into contact with the lifter body. Electric current is passed between the electrodes, causing resistive heating of the body and the shaft ends. The time and applied amperage are sufficient to cause softening of the shaft ends, at which time the current is switched off, and the first electrode is then driven against the shaft ends, causing the ends to be radially expanded into the chamfers. The remainder of the shaft is not softened nor retempered.

This method comprises the following steps: (a) providing a turbine component comprising an airfoil having a metal substrate with a wall thickness, wherein a portion of the wall thickness has been removed so as to provide a residual wall thickness; (b) providing a metal composition that at least substantially matches that of the residual wall thickness; and (c) applying the metal composition to the residual wall thickness such that the metal composition: (1) is adhered to the residual wall thickness; and (2) at least substantially restores the removed wall thickness. Also provided is a method for restoring a removed portion of the airfoil wall of a previously repaired turbine component.

Abstract: A method of regenerating gas-turbine stator vane comprising the steps of: grinding the oxidized layer and the cracks 2 formed at surface portion so that a part of the cracks 2 remains; filling an equivalent material and a brazing material 4 into the ground portion, the equivalent material 3 having an equality with the base material 1 for the stator vane, and the brazing material 4 having a melting point lower than that of the equivalent material 3; heat treating the filled portion under pressurized inert gas atmosphere so as to melt the brazing material; performing brazing treatment by diffusing the molten brazing material into the cracked portions. According to the above method, the stator vane occurred with material deterioration and damages or the like due to operation of a gas turbine can be efficiently regenerated to provide a high quality without requiring to completely grinding and removing the cracks including a closed crack formed at surface of the stator vane.
