Abstract: A method and arrangement for pressing of windings assembled onto a transformer. The method includes applying pressing force on the windings, and controlling the pressing force on the windings during drying of transformer active part. Thus, before the drying process commences, the windings are assembled onto the transformer core and a pressing force is applied to the windings assembled onto a respective transformer core limb, wherein an individual pressing force is applied to the respective winding. This individual pressing force applied to the respective winding is then controlled during the process of drying the transformer active part. The windings will as a result advantageously be effectively compressed onto the core and stabilized.

Abstract: An alkali/oxidant battery is provided with an associated method of creating battery capacity. The battery is made from an anode including a reduced first alkali metal such as lithium (Li), sodium (Na), and potassium (K), when the battery is charged. The battery's catholyte includes an element, in the battery charged state, such as nickel oxyhydroxide (NiOOH), magnesium(IV) (oxide Mn(4+)O2), or iron(III) oxyhydroxide (Fe(3+)(OH)3), with the alkali metal hydroxide. An alkali metal ion permeable separator is interposed between the anolyte and the catholyte. For example, if the catholyte includes nickel(II) hydroxide (Ni(OH)2) in a battery discharged state, then it includes NiOOH in a battery charged state. To continue the example, the anolyte may include dissolved lithium ions (Li+) in a discharged state, with solid phase reduced Li formed on the anode in the battery charged state.

Abstract: An improved electrical connector for connecting bus lines to a card such as a memory card or media card, including a multi-level connector comprising a latching device having a plurality of insertable latch positions that advantageously allows for selectively connecting or isolating an electrical path to an adjoining connector. The connectors of unpopulated DIMM slots are disconnected from the network along with the traces that would normally form a stub with associated undesirable signal reflections that would otherwise disturb the signal transmitted to the receiving end if not properly terminated. The contacts of the edge connector itself are used as a means to selectively connect or disconnect adjacent/downstream cards in a serially cascaded architecture. The burden of the stubs due to unpopulated card slots and the need to place one card at the far end of the network are thus eliminated.

Abstract: A gas heater with specialized controls allows an operator to deploy a single device to heat and to dry when extracting moisture from a structure. The heater has a fan in a blow thru arrangement ahead of a burner. The burner uses either natural gas or liquefied petroleum gas. The heater has air flow, fan motor, temperature, and ignition controls and sensors. The heater delivers high temperature air to the structure that hastens evaporation as the heated air absorbs great concentrations of water vapor. Then the moisture laden heated air exits the building as the heater draws in fresh air, ducts it into a structure, and pressurizes the structure. This moisture laden air then leaks from the building through select windows using the energy imparted from the fan and then exhausts the moisture to the atmosphere, drying the structure.

Abstract: An item of footwear comprises an upper having a first overlap area and the bottom having a second overlap area. The upper is attached to the bottom by stitching high frequency adhesive tape to the overlap area of the upper and separately to the overlap area of the bottom. The upper and the bottom are brought together so that the two overlap areas are in solid contact with one another when the footwear is subjected to the high frequency signal which turns the solid adhesive tapes into a molten liquid. When the liquid cools, the upper and bottom are welded to one another. The seal between the components is waterproof.
