Fluid Pressure Patents (Class 100/170)
  • Patent number: 10941521
Abstract: Multiple groups of sensors are circumferentially spaced apart at each cross-directional position along a sensing roll of a nip press to measure and cancel or nearly cancel the effects of rotational variability which may be acting on the sensing roll. The strategically-placed sensors are designed to measure the pressure being placed against the web that is being advanced through the nip press. The average of the measurements of multiple sensors spaced circumferential apart provides a good cancellation of any rotational variability that might be found at a cross-directional position on the sensing roll. In this manner, a more true measurement of the nip pressure profile can be obtained and better adjustments made to reduce nip pressure profile variability. In addition, the nip variability profile may be used as a predictor of cover or bearing failures, resonant frequencies and other roll anomalies.

  • Patent number: 9366373
Abstract: Disclosed is an absorber system for absorbing pressure shocks and fluid volume shocks in a fluid system. In particular, the absorber system includes a housing with a joint for insertion within a fluid system, wherein the housing interior is in fluid communication with fluid in the fluid system. As such, when a pressure and/or fluid volume shock is developed within the fluid system, fluid is forced into the housing via the joint. A membrane is disposed within the housing in such a way that the fluid impacts the membrane which, in response, flexes to absorb and control the pressure and/or fluid volume shock within the fluid system. The absorber system, thus, controls pressure and/or fluid volume shock within a system and can prevent water hammer and other problems which can result from the development of pressure and/or fluid volume shock.

Abstract: A relief cylinder structure for guiding a roll in a multinip calender has a frame and an arm that is arranged to move linearly in relation to the frame. A quick-opening cylinder is placed inside the arm. In a fault situation, the relief cylinder causes the cylinder rolls to move rapidly further away from each other. An auxiliary coupling (8) opens in a fault situation, wherein the pressure produced in the quick-opening cylinder (6) is discharged to a hydraulic system in a substantially non-pressurized state. Abstract: A refrigerant gas is collected and a compressor is removed from a discarded refrigerator, a heat-insulating housing including a heat insulator is cut/processed and separated into a plurality of pieces, and the pieces are compressed/processed by compression rollers opposing each other so as to collect a gas contained in the heat insulator. In accordance with this method, substantially no gas contained in the heat insulator is diffused at the time of cutting the heat-insulating housing, and the gas can be collected at a high concentration because it is collected by being allowed to leak out at the time of compressing. Furthermore, by using the compression rollers, closed-cells in the heat insulator can be crushed easily, thereby collecting the gas completely and reliably. Thus, it is possible to collect a foaming gas contained in the heat insulator efficiently and disassemble a refrigerator at low cost without increasing the size of equipment and an installation space.

Abstract: An apparatus for joining dough blocks to form a continuous dough sheet. The dough blocks are cut from a dough mass and drop into a space between first and second groups of rollers. The first and second groups of rollers include horizontally-paired rollers arranged in tiers and forming a substantially V-shaped space for receiving the dough blocks, with the uppermost pair of rollers being separated by a first horizontal gap which is wider than a second horizontal gap separating the lowermost pair of rollers. The first group of rollers are rotated in a direction (e.g., clockwise) which is opposite to that of the second group of rollers. In addition, the first group of rollers is alternately moved toward and away from the second group of rollers, thereby applying vibrations to the dough blocks.
