Abstract: A sewing machine with needle threading device is disclosed, wherein the thread passed through the needle eye of a needle of the sewing machine by operation of a threading hook may be released from the threading hook during a process of the threading hook moving up to the upper initial position after the threading operation is finished.
Abstract: A sewing machine comprising one or more motion means to effect a sewing function, each motion means having a dedicated motion control processor responsive to sewing commands addressed to said motion control processor, for controlling said motion means to effect said sewing faction; and a high speed communications interface for exchanging information between each said motion control processor and an external computer, whereby said sewing commands are determined by the external computer.
Abstract: A sewing apparatus is disclosed in which a thread cassette holding a needle thread wound is used. The sewing apparatus includes a cassette mount to which the thread cassette is detachably attached, a carrier carrying the thread cassette between an attachment start position and an attachment finish position in the cassette mount and a control device for controlling the carrier.
Abstract: A sewing machine 100 comprises a nonvolatile memory 43, and it is possible to select two kinds of set modes including a normal mode and an initial set value changing mode when starting up the sewing machine 100.

Abstract: An apparatus for preventing the raveling of a seam wherein a looper thread hanging hook for catching a looper thread which is allowed to pass through a loop of a needle thread immediately before the completion of a sewing operation and a driving mechanism of the hook together with a mechanism for cutting the looper thread and the needle thread are arranged on the right side of a needle drop point of a sewing machine.
Abstract: The present invention comprises a method and an apparatus for rapidly orienting and advancing buttons to be sewn. The invention employs a Programmable Logic Controller to control the steps of orientation and advancement and eliminates the need for time consuming set-up and adjustment of limit switches to control the movement of components within the button oriented and advancer. The use of a Controller to actuate the steps of orientation and advancement allows for the reduction of parts and consolidation of parts onto one plate that may be easily affixed to an industrial sewing head.
Abstract: A sewing or embroidery machine, comprising a needle, a gripper and a workpiece advancing device with at least one driven advancing element. Said advancing device has a linear drive for driving the advancing element. The linear drive has two armatures which can be driven in different directions. A control device with a control circuit for the horizontal movements and a control circuit for the vertical movements of the advancing element is allocated to the advancing device and both control circuits are subordinate to a main control device comprising a data processing device. Said main control device receives synchronization impulses from an encoder according to the current position of the needle or the gripper. The actual values of the horizontal and/or vertical movements of the advancing element can be supplied to the main control device at option.

Abstract: An apparatus according to the present invention comprises a sensor and a control circuit. The sensor is disposed near a needle drop portion of a needle plate and detects the quantity of light transmitted through cloths passing over the needle plate. The control circuit determines defective sewing from increase and decrease of said light quantity. The control circuit comprises means for storing the averaged value of the light transmitted in a few stitches of initial sewing operation, and means for determining defective sewing continuously from the initial sewing operation by comparing the average value with the value of the light transmitted and detected each time. Thus, it is possible to immediately start the practical sewing operation without taking time for test sewing or other extra jobs even when every cloth to be sewn is different in properties.
Abstract: A memory 36 previously stores therein a plurality of sets of color combination data indicative of a plurality of desirable combinations of colors. Color of a cloth to be sewn is read by a scanner 28. With referring to the memory 36, an embroidery data editing device selects one combination of colors suited for the color of the cloth. The device displays the selected color combination so that a user can confirm the selected color combination. When color of some sewing region is limited to a certain color as stored in the memory 37, hemming embroidery data is added to the embroidery data at an outer rim of the embroidery pattern if needed.
Abstract: There is disclosed a material or fabric making or processing operation involving needle penetration of a fibre, fabric or material layer (12) in which the needle penetration action is controlled by control means (18) by which the needle penetration characteristics can be varied within the penetration action and as between penetration actions.
Abstract: Disclosed is a damage detection apparatus for use in a sewing machine including a bobbin having a conductive wire wound thereon, and a sewing mechanism having a metal needle, which sews the conductive wire drawn from the bobbin to an object with thread by means of the metal needle. The damage detection apparatus includes a terminal to be electrically connected to part of the conductive wire, and an indicator electrically connected to both of the terminal and the metal needle and arranged to indicate the occurrence of contact of the metal needle with the conductive wire.
Abstract: A buttonhole sewing machine for the production of buttonholes on a work-piece comprises a thread feeding mechanism on the path of a needle thread which is fed in a direction of delivery. The thread feeding mechanism comprises a pivotal thread lever which has an opening for the needle thread to be led through. Further, the thread level is drivable by a triggerable positioning motor to pivot between a zero position and several positions of thread extraction.
Abstract: In a remote control bobbin case exchanger device (1), a rotary bobbin (K) is to be placed in a position that is not easily accessed, and an exchangeable position (&agr;) is provided in a position that is readily accessed in a bobbin case providing member (3). A chuck driving member (6) moves a chuck member (5) toward the rotary bobbin (K) to clutch a bobbin case (2) along a line connecting the rotary bobbin (K) to the exchangeable position (&agr;).
