  • Patent number: 8814389
Abstract: Power LEDs are implanted in a specially designed printed circuit board (PCB) that is known in the art as a Metal Core Printed Circuit Board (MCPCB). The MCPCB is bended over to so as to have rounded corners having a radius that is not smaller than a determined value depending of the overall thickness of the MCPCB and other factors without any negative effects on the insulating layer and copper traces in the area of bending. In this manner, the surface area of the heat sink used in an LED nail care curing appliance is increased. The MCPCB with installed LEDs with rounded corners thereby follows the natural curvature (based on the shape of a human hand) of the appliance housing, eliminating the need for additional heat sinks or fans to reduce the heat generated by the LEDs.

A locking assembly may be provided to releasably secure each workpiece tooling assembly in the various support orientations that coincide with each of its faces.

Abstract: A photo-reactive composition layer is formed on a support with transparency while the support is moved in one direction. Then the support is reversed in a first irradiating chamber as to be moved in a direction opposite to the one direction to generate a serpentine transport path. The support prior to reverse and the support subsequent to reverse face to each other serpentinely, and the support is irradiated with light from lamps for ultraviolet-ray emission. The entire photo-reactive composition layer on the serpentine support is photo-polymerized while the light transmits through the support and the photo-reactive composition layer formed on the support. Then photo-polymerization reaction of the photo-reactive composition layer is facilitated in a second irradiating chamber, adjacent to the first irradiating chamber, using lamps for ultraviolet-ray emission different from those used in the first irradiating chamber in property.

  • Patent number: 8677931
Abstract: A pattern having exceptionally small features is printed on a partially fabricated integrated circuit during integrated circuit fabrication. The pattern is printed using an array of probes, each probe having: 1) a photocatalytic nanodot at its tip; and 2) an individually controlled light source. The surface of the partially fabricated integrated circuit comprises a photochemically active species. The active species undergoes a chemical change when contacted by the nanodot, when the nanodot is illuminated by light. To print a pattern, each probe raster-scans its associated nanodot across the surface of the partially fabricated integrated circuit. When the nanodot reaches a desired location, the nanodot is illuminated by the light source, catalyzing a change in the reactive species and, thus, printing at that location. Subsequently, reacted or unreacted species are selectively removed, thereby forming a mask pattern over the partially fabricated integrated circuit.
