Abstract: A method and apparatus for feeding a cover (10, 11, 12, 13) in the production of perfect-bound or saddle-stitched books, brochures, magazines or similar printed products (14, 15) featuring an inner part (2) that consists of a collection of folded sections, layers and/or individual sheets and a cover (10, 11, 12, 13) that is placed around the inner part (2) and connected thereto. A roll (3) comprising a wound-up cover web (4) is supplied, the cover web (4) is unwound and a cover sheet (10, 11, 12, 13) with the desired format height is separated from the cover web (4, 8) and fed to the inner part (2) in order to be placed around the inner part and connected thereto. This allows a reliable and flawless feed of the covers to the inner parts, and the operating effort for the cover feed is reduced.

Abstract: An apparatus 1 for continuously forming an FRP square pipe comprises a long core 10 for laminating prepreg sheets, and to this core 10 are fed prepreg sheets from prepreg laminating devices 20, 30, 40 and 50 with a release film interposed between the core, so as to be laminated into square pipe form. The core 10 has an outer diameter size smaller than the inner diameter size of the square pipe to be formed. The outer circumference of the square pipe is wrapped with a tape-like film fed from a tape-like release film wrapping device 200 in spiral fashion, and the work is heated and pressed in a hot press 100. The work is then subjected to additional heating in a postcure furnace 110 to form the FRP square pipe. The square pipe is intermittently pulled by a puller 130 disposed downstream of a clamp 120. The pipe is then cut to predetermined lengths by a cutter not shown to be completed as a product.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a fluorescent screen forming method, a fluorescent screen forming apparatus and a cathode-ray tube. In the fluorescent screen forming method according to the present invention, a transfer roller lowers a transfer sheet to somewhere above the inner surface of the panel and the transfer roller moves up to the end edge positions of the inner surface of the panel, whereafter the transfer roller moves downwards onto the end edges of the inner surface of the panel in unison with the transfer film to start pressing the transfer film. Therefore, the transfer roller can reach the end edges of the panel, and hence component layers of a fluorescent screen can be transferred up to the end edges of the inner surface of the panel. A fluorescent screen forming apparatus according to the present invention includes a transfer film supply means, a transfer roller, and a control means, wherein operations of the above-mentioned transfer method are executed.

A pair of arms rotatably attached to the frame have projecting posts and rotate between a first position where the posts are closer to the pathway and a second position where they are further from the pathway. The arms are urged toward the first position and a catch mechanism holds them in the second position until released by a release mechanism when a release indicia in the first tape passes. The leading edge of the second tape is looped around the first tape to form a loose knot and is tied to the post on each side of the first tape. When the arms are released they move to the second position and tighten the knot.

Abstract: A process and apparatus are provided for applying double-layered rigidity strips to a sealable foil web which is transported in sequences. V-shaped loops are formed at predetermined foil sections set at a distance from one another in the web transport direction. The sides of the loops are subsequently sealed together in such a way that the thus formed rigidity strips, extending transversely to the direction of transport, project collar-like from the foil web. Each foil section at which a loop is formed, a controlled auxiliary loop is arranged which serves for adaptation to changes in format regarding the distances between the foil sections. A drum, having a relatively large diameter serves as a transport roller, which drum has devices arranged around its circumference for the purpose of forming a plurality of loops and auxiliary loops.
