Abstract: A curtain mounting system for creating a dust barrier that includes a curtain and a mounting system. The mounting system is made up of multiple support assemblies with each assembly having a holding member for attaching and supporting the curtain to a support structure such as wall or ceiling. The support assembly also has an elastic member coupled to the holding member and is also attached to the curtain. The elastic member is configured to suspend additional portions of the curtain creating an overlapping fold in the curtain. The curtain will lengthen when it is tugged on due to the curtain fold and will return back to its original length once the tugging has subsided due to the nature and placement of the elastic member.

Abstract: A combination garage door and roll-up curtain system that allows a flexible curtain to be lowered when the garage door is in a raised position. The system preferably comprises an automated garage door assembly wherein the drive mechanism is mounted to a bracket mounted in turn to the inside wall above the garage opening upper margin. The system preferably further comprises an automated roll-up curtain assembly having a rotatable rod mounted above the garage opening upper margin between the bracket and the inside wall. The rotatable rod has a flexible curtain wound thereabout wherein the first end of the curtain is affixed to the rod and the second end of the curtain is secured along its lateral margins within tracks mounted adjacent the garage opening lateral margins. The second end of the curtain preferably has a weighted member attached thereto to urge the curtain toward the garage opening lower margin and to keep the curtain taut.

Abstract: An improved Venetian blind type window covering having an open position and a closed position is provided. The window covering includes a plurality of panels suspended between a head rail and a bottom rail that provides a generally billowed appearance. A securement member and an adjustment member, in cooperation, are suitable for adjustably moving or tilting the plurality of blind panels to open and close the window covering. A tilting mechanism causes positional adjustment of the plurality of panels by raising and lowering at least the adjustment member.

Abstract: A door unit for selectively opening and closing an opening in an object includes a door having a bendable slatted door body and a flexible sheet member positioned over the door body. Guide grooves in the object slidably guide at least the door body, and the respective ends of the door body and the sheet member are connected on one end in the sliding direction. By setting an appropriate spacing between the guide grooves, the generation of noise that would otherwise be caused by the door body and the sheet member rubbing against each other when they are opened or closed, is avoided. The use of the separate sheet member also significantly increases the options for the material to be employed for the design surface of the door unit.

Abstract: A window blind for motor vehicle doors including a winding shaft arranged underneath the window's lower edge is provided. One edge of the blind sheet is fastened to the winding shaft and its other edge is attached to a pull bar. The pull bar is connected to at least one support rod that is arranged approximately at a right angle to the pull bar and projects into the body of the door. The support rod is guided in the door body and it is provided at its inner end with a dog. The dog is designed to cooperate with a dog driven by the window lifter, so that the window blind is also opened semiautomatically when the window is opened.

Abstract: A compactable temporary window screen with privacy panel is for use with any motor vehicle having a doorframe wherein the door window is surrounded by a solid window frame structure. The screen comprises a flexible mesh material shaped in such a way as to allow it to be slipped over the door of a motor vehicle when the door is open and then secured in the proper position by closing the door. An opaque privacy panel is also provided to optionally allow privacy and light control. In one embodiment of the invention the privacy panel may be folded into itself and secured in an attached pouch.

Abstract: A dual overhead door system having a pair of vertical tracks (5) mounted on either side of a door opening which is connected to a pair of dual spaced apart horizontal tracks (3, 4). The horizontal tracks (3, 4) have a curved segment (6) wherein horizontal tracks meet at a junction to form a single track connected to a top of the vertical track (5). The curved segment in the horizontally tracks contain a special swivel gate (7) which blocks either of the horizontal tracks to keep one door from moving into the vertical section when the other door is already in place and to provide minimum distance between the horizontal tracks for installation in low ceiling applications. A kit and method for converting a single overhead door system into a dual overhead door system is also provided.

Abstract: The present invention is directed to window treatments such as vertical blinds manufactured from a knitted textile material. Each of a plurality of louvers is knitted into a single panel and attached together by a frangible hinge which permits the louvers to pivot relative to each other, or may be torn to separate the louvers from each other without damage to the louvers. In installations requiring multiple panels to be attached together, a terminus may be provided to permit attachment of one panel directly to the other. Alternately, a connection strip may be employed between two panels. In the event that the knitted textile louvers are not sufficiently opaque, auxiliary louvers may be provided and attached in alignment over the louvers.

Abstract: A vertical blind assembly including at least one vertical blind panel, the at least one vertical blind panel including a plurality of partially opaque louvers, and a plurality of sheer transparent or translucent spacers. Each of the plurality of spacers is disposed between a respective pair of the plurality of partially opaque louvers. A substantially opaque auxiliary louver is disposed behind each one of the plurality of partially opaque louvers. A frangible hinge is disposed between each partially opaque louver and an adjacent spacer. A louver hook is attached to a top edge portion of each partially opaque louver, wherein each louver hook hooks over a top edge of a corresponding auxiliary louver.

Abstract: A curtain rod support includes a bracket having a top plate, securing holes and an extension extending downward from a bottom face of the top plate, a hook having positioning holes aligned with the securing holes in the top plate to allow two bolts to extend through the aligned securing holes and the positioning holes to secure engagement between the bracket and the hook and a bend formed on a distal end thereof receivable therein a first curtain rod and a base having two arms extending upward from a base and a connecting hole defined through the base so that a second threaded rod is extended through the connecting hole and into the extension to secure engagement between the seat and the bracket such that a second curtain rod is receivable inside a receiving space between the base and a bottom face of the hook.

Abstract: A retractable screen is provided for covering a structural opening by mounting it within the opening. The screen comprises a screen panel, first mounting means for mounting the side edges of the screen panel, and second mounting means for mounting the top edge of the screen panel. The first mounting means is further selectively releasably secured to the respective side edges of the screen panel by zipper means such that unfastening the zipper means at both side edges permits the screen panel to be retracted generally upwardly while the mounting means remain generally in place.

Abstract: The present invention comprises an insect screen and a security barrier contained within a removable frame installable to replace a conventional screen or storm window, the assembly functioning both as a barrier to insect penetration, and as a security barrier to deter an intruder from entering the building through the window or door. The main components of the window guard insert comprise a frame assembly, a security barrier, an insect screen, a spline, and a weather strip. The assembled frame includes a security barrier channel to retain the security barrier, a weather strip channel to retain the weather strip and an insect screen channel, partially formed by the security barrier to retain the insect screen. An optional clip retaining channel is used to increase the window guard insert's ability to withstand an unauthorized entry attempt.

Abstract: The present invention provides a garage door screen storing system that is adapted for permanent mounting onto the exterior wall above a garage door. An aluminum steel cabinet with several advantages, including an electric moter being the power source that propels the main screen power rod which rotate the garage screen in and out of the screen storing units; It is equipped with devices that provide remote or manual activation for the screen and lighting of the designed light fixtures. The doors that closes at the bottom of the cabinet are adapted to rotate roller devices inside of metal tracks devices that are designed to contain the rollers as they are manipulating the screen guide landing rod in and out of the system. When the doors are opened to a vertical position, they served as retention tracks that are adapted to keep the garage screen nestled against the exterior walls of garage doors.

Abstract: Window cover systems include window cover material in the form of pleated panels or slats. The window cover material is suspended from a traverse track and is traversed along the track for opening and closing the window system. Arrangements for maintaining spacing and alignment of pleats or slats are provided. The alignment maintaining arrangements include traverse tapes which are substantially rigid in longitudinal and lateral directions in the plane of the tape, and are flexible in a direction perpendicular to the tape. The arrangements also include attaching the window cover material to vertical edge members and providing foldable spacer-members between adjacent edge-members. In one arrangement, a box-pleated panel of window cover fabric is suspended from a traverse track on slide-members. The slide-members are each attached to a spacer-tape at regular intervals along the spacer-tape.

Abstract: A ventilation apparatus 26 is provided for mounting in a garage 10 door. The ventilation apparatus is provided with a rectangular shaped base support member 30 having an opening 40 formed therein. A first rectangular shaped tracking member 54 is aligned in first portions of the opening 40 in the base member 30. The ventilation apparatus 26 is also provided with a first transparent member 66 which is coupled in the first tracking member 54. A second rectangular shaped tracking member 56 is aligned in second portions of the opening 40 in the base support member 30. A second transparent member 82 is mounted for slidable movement in the second tracking member 56. This allows the second transparent member 82 to be moved to a position to cover the second portions of the opening 40 in the base member 30 as well as be moved to a position so that the second portions of the opening in the base member are uncovered.

Abstract: An improved mounting bracket for use in attaching curtain rods in conjunction with an upper beam of a standard blind bracket mounting device of a blind assembly. The mounting bracket is slidably mounted on the upper beam of the blind assembly and prevents the blind assembly from falling out of the blind bracket mounting device. The mounting brackets include first and second bracket housings having joint first and second seam sections for forming first and second holding wall clip members, respectively. The first holding wall member includes a pair of spaced-apart outer first and inner second holding prong members being integrally connected to an exterior first wall surface. The third holding wall member includes a pair of spaced-apart outer third and inner fourth holding prong members being integrally connected to an exterior third wall surface.

The system includes a cover that forms a u-shaped fold that extends between the first vane and the second vane. A first reattachable fastener detachably couples the cover to the first vane at the edge portion of the first vane. The curtain includes a curtain body having a plurality of mounting portions and covering portions that are alternately arranged along a longitudinal direction of the headrail. Each of the connecting devices includes a first connecting unit disposed at a respective one of the carriers, and a second connecting unit disposed at a respective one of the mounting portions of the decorative curtain and connected removably to the first connecting unit. Gaps between the slats are completely screened by the covering portions of the decorative curtain.

Abstract: An assembly of sashes containing investitures, such as venetian blinds and/or mesh screens, for application adjacent the inside surfaces of sliding glass doors. In one embodiment, the sashes are suspended from inner and outer tracks of a rail in sliding overlapping relationship. Abstract: A fabric window blind includes a head frame, a roller, an adjustment mechanism, slats, a bottom rail and a light-admitting shade. The roller is horizontally rotatably mounted inside the head frame. The adjustment mechanism has a control axle horizontally pivotally mounted inside the head frame below the roller, and two cord member sets having top ends connected to the control axle and bottom ends vertically downwardly suspended from the control axle. The slats are arranged at different elevations below the control axle. The slats each have two opposite lateral sides respectively joined to the cord member sets. The bottom rail is fastened to the bottom ends of the cord member sets below the slats. The shade has a first end fastened to the head frame, and a second end extended downwardly over the bottom rail and turned upwards toward the head frame and fastened to the roller.

Abstract: A retractable cover for architectural openings having collapsible vanes includes a support structure in the form of a sheet of material, monofilaments, tapes, ribbons, cords, or the like, supporting an upper edge of a plurality of vertically spaced, horizontally extending vanes with the lower edges of the vanes in most embodiments of the invention being connected to operating elements adapted to raise the lower edges of each vane toward the upper edges to define openings or gaps between the vanes through which vision and light can pass in an open condition of the covering. Variations of the covering do not require movement of a lower edge of a vane relative to an upper edge but simply movement of some vanes relative to other vanes. The vanes can be made of materials having different flexibilities and where more rigid materials are used, creased fold lines can be established for desired operability.

The light shelf controls entry of light through an upper portion of the window and may be adjusted to reflect incident sunlight onto the ceiling of the room to provide indirect lighting to the room. The light shelf may be adjusted to substantially or partially exclude light from the room.

Abstract: A mounting system is disclosed for the mounting of a sheet on a roll-up door. The sheet is contemplated to have top and bottom opposed edges with continuous beads therealong for association with the mounting system. An elongate frame member is fixed to an upper one of the elongate panels in the elongate direction thereof. The frame member includes a mortise to receive the continuous bead along the top edge of the sheet. An elongate spring cover is mounted to one of the lower elongate panels of the roll-up door and has an access opening facing toward the elongate frame member. Springs are affixed within the elongate spring cover and attached to an elongate attachment which also includes a mortise to receive the continuous bead of the bottom edge of the sheet. The assembly of the springs, elongate attachment and sheet extend through the access opening.

Abstract: A double shade is disclosed as well as a method of assembling same. The double shade includes a headrail, a first shade mounted at its upper end to the bottom surface of the headrail and operable with lift cords, and a first control module mounted at a side edge of the headrail including a cord lock for operating the first shade. A second shade is mounted to a roller positioned within the interior of the headrail. A second control module is mounted at the opposite side edge of the headrail, and includes a clutch that is operable by a cord loop to move the second shade up and down and hold it in a desired location.

Abstract: A multi-functional shading device includes a first shading arrangement including a top traverse supporter adapted for affixing to a top beam of a ceiling, a first shading arrangement downwardly extended from the top traverse supporter including a base member and a first operating device for selectively lifting up the base member towards the traverse supporter and unlifting the base member to drop downwardly away from the traverse supporter, and a second shading arrangement including a base stabilizer, a translucent fabric, which is folded in a Z-shaped manner, downwardly extended from the base member to the base stabilizer, and a second operating device for folding and unfolding the translucent fabric. Therefore, the first and second shading arrangements having different light intensity blocking abilities are adapted for selectively blocking lights passing through from one side to another side of the shading arrangements respectively.

Abstract: The Invention is a window blind with an integral, adjustable light shelf to control the entry of light into a room through a window. The blind may be a roller blind or any other suitable blind and controls entry of light through a lower portion of the window. The light shelf controls entry of light through an upper portion of the window and may be adjusted to reflect incident sunlight onto the ceiling of the room to provide indirect lighting to the room. The light shelf may be adjusted to substantially or partially exclude light from the room.

Abstract: A double shade is disclosed as well as a method of assembling same. The double shade includes a headrail, a first shade mounted at its upper end to the bottom surface of the headrail and operable with lift cords, and a first control module mounted at a side edge of the headrail including a cord lock for operating the first shade. A second shade is mounted to a roller positioned within the interior of the headrail. A second control module is mounted at the opposite side edge of the headrail, and includes a clutch that is operable by a cord loop to move the second shade up and down and hold it in a desired location.

Abstract: A cascade shade comprising a horizontal blind and a fabric cover assembly having means to attach it to the blind to produce a series of cascading loops or folds covering the blind without interfering with the raising, lowering, opening or closing of the blind.

Abstract: A blind extension system with removable soft side blinders or light blocking structures provides an organizational system which can be used to reduce light due to improper sized blinds without damaging the blinds or the window frame itself. In one embodiment, a sock-like structure is used to attach lengths of decorative materials at the outer ends of horizontal blinds. The sock-like structures are provided periodically along the vertical length of a projecting soft, decorative material. A series of extension pins can be used to assist the horizontal extension of the soft decorative material sufficient to reach the sides of the window opening space. Alternative methods of attachment are shown including a first embodiment of a clip attachable with vertical movement onto the elongate edge of a louver, and a second embodiment of a clip which is attachable with horizontal movement directly onto the end edge of the louver.

Both layers are formed with different shade cloths. The outward layer is a pervious-to-light curtain. The inner layer includes a plurality of opaque curtains. In addition, the opaque curtains are simultaneously folded upwards or hung over downwards through pulling operating cords by a user to achieve the indoor anti-dazzling or semi-opaque effects.

Abstract: A light controllable window covering has a transparent front face and a transparent back face, either or both of which are formed from a series of spaced apart parallel threads, and a series of opaque slats attached between the two faces. The parallel threads which form the front face and back face are spaced apart an amount which allows light to readily pass while providing a soft fabric like appearance. The slats are preferably knitted or woven fabric treated to have a given light impeding property. The front and back longitudinal edges of each slat are respectively attached to the front face and the back face. The resulting structure when combined with a hardware system is a light control honeycomb window covering. Movement of the light impeding slats from a position perpendicular to the front face and back face to a position generally parallel to the front and back face controls the amount of light which is admitted through the window covering.

Abstract: A blind with its fabric drapery structure has an upper beam, two rotation units, two spring mounts, two springs, two sealing caps, two connectors, a fabric drapery mounting rod, a fabric drapery hanging track, and two double-sided adhesive pieces. Both ends of the upper beam are engaged with connecting sections of the rotation units, and the spring mounts with the springs are joined to engagement sections of the rotation units. The sealing caps are inserted at one end of said spring mounts. The rotation units engaged with the upper beam are slid in an angle onto the connectors fixed to the frame walls adjacent to a window via the double-sided adhesive pieces, and adjusted in a straight line by pushing inwards to be located thereto. The upper beam serves to display a blind, and the fabric drapery mounting rod and/or the hanging track are connected to the connectors.

Abstract: A fabric for use with louver-type vertical blinds is provided. The fabric comprises a flexible drape-material and a band comprising one part of a ‘hook and loop’ fastening system. The part of the ‘hook and loop’ fastening system attached to the fabric includes integral guide markers in order to simplify the attachment of the fabric to a vertical blind. Also provided is a vertical blind comprising the fabric attached to a plurality of vertical louvers.

Abstract: An architectural covering, such as a blind, for use primarily over windows and doorways, includes of a plurality of separate composite vanes made of an opaque rigid material and a sheer material, if desired. Each composite vane can be manufactured as a flat, rollable laminated assembly of strips and joined or bonded at least substantially on a line along the length of the strip and substantially along one edge of one strip. Several different embodiments of the composite vane are disclosed. In one embodiment, the composite vane comprises a generally flat, unexpanded opaque material with individual pieces of sheer material attached to an edge of the vane. In another embodiment, a laminated composite vane comprises a pair of strips with the transverse width of one strip greater than the other strip to form a torque tube when edge-joining the strips.

Abstract: A vertical blind having a head rail, one or more trolleys being movable along the head rail and blind slats being suspended therefrom. The vertical blind has a fabric panel with folds enfolding the blind slats. The vertical blind has attachments by which the fabric panel is secured to the upper ends of the blind slats and at least partially enfolds the blind slats, without requiring modification of the trolleys. A kit or attachment to the blind slats of an existing vertical blind has panel clip attachments being on an upper end of a fabric panel, and panel clips each being mounted to the upper edge of each blind slat to straddle over and hang on both sides of the upper edge of each of the blind slats.

Abstract: A Venetian blind comprises a blind assembly having a head rail, a bottom rail, a plurality of slats and a lift cord assembly for holding the slats in between the head rail and the bottom rail and driving the slats to move between a extended position and a collapsed position, and a plurality of shade fabrics. Each of the shade fabrics has a coupling portion and a shading portion having an end thereof coupled to the coupling portion. Wherein the coupling portions of the shade fabrics are coupled to the slats of the blind assembly respective and the shading portions of the shade fabrics are left at a side of the slats.
