    Abstract: A cage of a ball bearing includes an annular portion located on a first axial side with respect to balls, the first axial side being one side in an axial direction of the ball bearing, and cage bars extending from the annular portion toward a second axial side, the second axial side being the other side in the axial direction of the ball bearing. A space located on a second axial side of the annular portion and defined between any two of the cage bars adjacent to each other in a circumferential direction serves as a pocket that accommodates a corresponding one of the balls. The pocket has a contact surface that is brought into point contact with the ball at an intersection point between a rotational center axis of the ball and a surface of the ball when the cage is displaced toward the second axial side.

    Abstract: An annular groove is provided in a driving-side rotor of a clutch. Guide grooves are provided on a driven-side rotor of the clutch. By moving the driving-side rotor relative to the driven-side rotor, balls are moved that are accommodated in the spaces provided by the sections where the guide grooves and the annular groove face each other. Moving the balls toward the sections where the gap between the driving-side rotor and the driven-side rotor is narrow causes the balls to engage with the driving-side rotor and the driven-side rotor to achieve an engaged state. A disengaged state, in which engagement is cancelled, is achieved by moving the balls to the sections where the gap is wide.

    Abstract: A rotation transmission device includes a two-way clutch which is selectively engaged and disengaged by an electromagnetic clutch. The two-way clutch includes a control retainer and a rotary retainer. The control retainer and the rotary retainer have flanges and bars formed on outer peripheral portions of the respective flanges and arranged so as to circumferentially alternate with each other with pockets defined between adjacent bars. Two rollers are received in each pocket. When the control retainer and the rotary retainer are rotated relative to each other, the rollers are adapted to be pushed by the bars to the disengaged position. An anti-rotation arrangement is provided on opposed surfaces of an outer ring and the control retainer member. The anti-rotation arrangement is adapted to prevent the control retainer from rotating relative to the outer ring while the rollers are in engagement, thereby preventing the rollers from moving to the neutral position.
