Abstract: The present invention provides a watch band construction which includes a top layer, a bottom layer and an insert. The top and bottom layers each have an aperture provided proximate to the tip ends thereof. The insert is positioned between the top and bottom layers within the apertures and is stitched to the top and bottom layers to secure the insert between the top and bottom layers. The insert provides the tip for the watch band, as well as the holes through which the buckle prong extends. The tip may be formed with raised portions and the holes may be formed with angled walls at the bottom of the insert. The insert is formed with a curve bias along both a length and width thereof. The insert is formed of a sturdy material, such as resin, such that it is durable and long lasting in the areas of high wear.

Abstract: Disclosed is a leather belt including a band extending in the longitudinal direction and a buckle engaged with one end the band, the leather belt being adapted such that the leather belt is tightened by having the band put on around a waist of a user, the leather belt comprising: a panel-type heating element attached to the inside of the band; a cover sheet attached to the outside of the panel-type heating element for protecting the panel-type heating element; a case engaged with the outer surface of the band; and a control box received in the case, the control box having a battery built therein and provided with an operation button, wherein the panel-type heating element is connected to the control box by means of an electric wire so as to generate heat.

Abstract: Maternity wear of the invention accommodates the changing shape of a woman's body during pregnancy, minimizing the need for maternity clothes. In one aspect of the invention, pants or a skirt are worn with the upper end unfastened so as to conform to the shape of the swelling torso in pregnancy, and an elastic band shaped similarly to a tube top is worn generally around the waist, so as to overlap the top of the unfastened pants or skirt and retain them on the body. A top, such as a blouse or shirt, can be worn with its tail end extending over the band. In another aspect of the invention, too-large maternity clothing is worn with the band garment engaged over the upper end. If desired the band garment can be folded over on itself, thus doubling its thickness.

The adjuster is constructed by a upper cover and seat body, in which a slit is opened on the upper cover and a slanting channel is disposed on the seat body. The chain is placed in the channel, and a sliding groove in which one end thereof is closed perpendicular to the channel is disposed at one side of the channel, and a recess groove is disposed at another end thereof. An inserting pin seat is installed in the sliding groove, and an elastic element is installed between the inserting pin seat and the closed end of the sliding groove. Whereby, the size of the collar formed by the chain is adjusted by the inserting pin seat.

Abstract: Magnetic work apparel for retaining various fasteners or tools such as nails, screws, nuts, bolts and drill bits includes a hollow glove member having a backhand portion, a palm portion, a wrist portion defining an opening for receiving a user's hand and a plurality of finger portions. Integral with the backhand portion is a magnet to which ferromagnetic items may be secured to keep such items in a readily accessible location. The invention also includes several magnetic accessory items such as a wristband, a belt and a belt clip. The belt includes snaps or similar fasteners thereon for securing the other items thereto.

Abstract: The present invention is to be utilized as a safety device for a passenger riding a vehicle in tandem with the vehicle's operator. The invention is a safety belt device that allows for the passenger to securely grasp one or two handgrips attached to a belt worn around the operator's waist. This invention allow for the passenger to better maintain and stabilize their balance, preventing possible accidents or injury.

Abstract: The general method and apparatus of the invention comprises an adjustable strap system to secure one object to another, or one or more objects in a folded, rolled, or gathered position. In one embodiment, the invention comprises a single elongated strap of material having a first end and a second end, one end narrower than the other, a first side and a second side, four fastening surfaces or fasteners, three on one side and one on the opposite side, two positioned on each side of the narrow strap, and two positioned on the wide strap same side opposite the narrow strap. In the fastened state, the adjustable strap system secures the narrow strap by mating four opposing fastening surfaces thereby resulting in a dual locking adjustable strap system. In an alternative embodiment, two separate straps may be utilized with the dual locking mechanism of the present invention.

Abstract: A martial arts belt sized to fit around a user's waist has a strap with a pair of strap sections. Each strap section has a fastening end and a tie end. The strap sections join together at a juncture located between the fastening end and the tie end of each strap section. The strap sections each have between the juncture and the fastening end of each strap section, posterior fastening devices for fastening the strap sections together behind a user's waist. Portions between the juncture and the tie end of each of the strap sections are tied into an anterior knot having dependent tails. An insignia patch can be removably secured at one of the tails for later removal or repositioning.

Abstract: The present invention relates to belts which are fastenable with one hand and method of using such belts. In an exemplary implementation, a method generally includes anchoring a first end portion of the belt to a belt loop, positioning the belt through the other belt loops, and fastening the belt by using only one hand to engage a second end portion of the belt with the first end portion. The first end portion can be anchored to the belt loop by looping the first end portion generally about a belt loop, and then engaging the first end portion upon itself.

The belt load distribution device comprises a lower back panel which houses vertical and horizontal stays, and a belt for securing the device around the waist of the user. In addition to alleviating lower back pain caused by the wearing of heavy belts, the device is light, comfortable, durable, adjustable, and easy to maintain.

Abstract: A trouser belt is provided having a strap, a buckle and a keeper. The strap has a first and a second end and includes two substantially nonelastic portions and a short elastic portion. The short elastic portion is located between the two nonelastic portions and provides a limited amount of lengthwise expansion to the strap. The buckle is attached to the first end of the strap to secure a portion of the strap adjacent to the second end of the strap. The keeper is mounted adjacent to the buckle to hold the second of the belt to the first end of the belt. Preferably, the keeper is secured to the strap adjacent to the buckle and the short elastic portion is located substantially beneath the keeper.

Abstract: An apparatus generally used as a rescue device that a firefighter or other personnel may use to pull or carry a victim out of a fire or away from a place or peril. The device may be utilized by one single person to rescue another person. The new rescue device is made from standard web materials that are sewn in place and has a web belt feature built in to permit the rescuer to secure the victim. The belt of the device encircles the victim and is fastened at the ends of the belt. The device then is used to pull the victim to safety.

Abstract: A system for part measurement and verification is disclosed. The system comprises a set of design criteria specifying a part and a fixture with gage blocks for positioning the part, where each of the gage blocks represents a known position. At least one probe is operable to measure the scalar values of the part and the gage blocks. A handheld information processor or computer is coupled to the probe for receiving the measurements and is operable to transform the measurements and compare those measurements to the design criteria to in order to verify the part. A method for part measurement and verification is disclosed. The method comprises eight steps. Step one calls for specifying the part with a set of design criteria. Step two requires storing the design criteria in a handheld information processor. Step three provides placing the part in a fixture with gage blocks at known locations. In step four, the method provides for configuring the handheld information processor to receive part measurements.

Slope portions inclined outward are provided on both sides of the lower insertion hole. The operating piece has engaging protrusions on one face and elastic leg portions on both sides, provided integrally with a main body thereof.

Two fastening means such as commercially available vest-clips are attached to the two extremities of a flexible length of belting material. A buckle or other adjusting means may be provided for varying the length of the wrap belt. In use, the wearer first attaches one end of the belt to a selected position on her article of clothing; she then wraps the belt around her torso one or more times; finally, she fastens the other end of the belt to a second selected position on her clothing. She may adjust the length of the belt before, or during or after wearing the belt.

Abstract: A shirrable cover for a gait belt or other similar belt includes a sleeve, a flap and restraining means whereby the cover may be drawn into a shirred bundle. Such belt cover may consist of various materials and fabric finishes. One embodiment of the shirrable cover includes a back panel and front panel and a flap unitary with the back panel and extending beyond a terminating end of the front panel. Preferably, at least one thread extends along a top seam of the junction of the front and back panels and extends beyond the top seam at least one point. Also, at least one thread extends along the bottom seam of the junction of the front and back panels and extends beyond the bottom seam at least one point.

The present invention comprises a reinforced aperture near to its anchored end, cooperating parts of a two-part quick-release fastener positioned on opposite sides of the aperture, a transverse opening for belt insertion, and at least one aperture through the distal end of the sleeve. Optionally, one of the fastener parts can be attached to the rear surface of the belt, instead of the sleeve. Each sleeve is further configured so that when it is in its usable position upon a belt, it will not interfere with the routine fastening and use of the belt during its garment support function.

Abstract: A new and improved product designed to enhance the lives of teachers and adults in their attempts to teach handicapped individuals. The present invention will serve to greatly enhance teachers and adults who are involved in teaching handicapped individuals by assisting them in locating visual pictures during activities at home or at school. The present invention would be attached to a belt, which would be strapped around a user's waist. The present invention would also have a pair of removable felt pads, which a user would be able to attach pictures to, with the flaps being removable at the will of a user. When an adult or teacher would wish to communicate with someone, the adult or teacher would simply remove the picture and hand it to the user. The present invention would also have a front-mounted pad with an enclosed pouch which would be used for storing extra pictures and drawings, with pad including the enclosed pouch being located in front of the other two pair of flaps.

The connecting portions also form narrowed portions for locally clamping the elastic yarn elements. The yarn element inserts into the sleeve and is clamped at the narrowed portions in such a way that it extends freely through each tubular section and is movable therein between two positions, i.e., an inoperative position and an operative position in which said element is shorter than the section in question, whereby it may subsequently impart a ruffle thereto in a direction substantially perpendicular to the general direction of the sleeve.

A pair of strips of leather are fixedly secured, e.g., adhesively bonded, onto the inner surface of said elongated strap and they extend parallel to and equidistantly spaced from each other on opposite sides of the fold line. One of the pair of strips has a recess, e.g., a transversely extending groove or a circular depression, located therein adjacent the first end portion of the belt.

Abstract: A strap attachment system having a stiffened flexible strap with a first end anchored to a pouch and a free end configured for positioning around a belt and releasable attachment to the pouch, such as with hook-and-loop fasteners. The stiffened flexible strap is formed from webbing that has the hook portion of the hook-and-loop fastening system attached thereto, preferably by stitching. A stiffener having a shaped end is positioned between the hook portion and the webbing to provide some rigidity to the webbing. The stiffened flexible strap is more easily threaded around a belt to form a connecting loop.
