The container has means for joining the first peripheral edge of the plastic blister or cover component and the second peripheral edge of the paperboard tray or tray component so that the first and second volumes form a combined container volume.

Abstract: A device for containing and releasing a sample material having a first structural layer, a second structural layer, and a frangible layer containing a sample material attaching the first structural layer to the second structural layer. The sample material may be a fragrance. The device may further include a substrate such as a printed carrier sheet having a first panel and a second panel. The sampler may be placed on the second panel and the first panel is folded over the sampler to form the device. When the substrate is unfolded, the frangible layer separates for access to the sample material.

Abstract: The present invention is a novel, theft-resistant, and senior-friendly packaging for consumer and retail products that is cheap and easy to manufacture. The packaging is designed to prevent individuals from gaining access to the enclosed product through tampering with the packaging while at the same time meeting or exceeding federal child-resistant and senior-friendly guidelines. The packaging incorporates plastic material and multiple cuts to be tear-resistant and to halt the propagation of a tear, if one should occur.

Abstract: A method and system for providing a sanitizing treatment for a product or object while inside a package. The system provides an atmosphere inside a contained environment that reduces, or eliminates, oxygen from the atmosphere, the contained environment containing at least one product or object packaged inside a package. At least one UV energy source transmits ultraviolet energy through the atmosphere inside the contained environment and toward the packaged product or object contained therein, the ultraviolet energy providing at least one of a sanitizing, disinfecting and sterilizing treatment to the packaged product or object by converting oxygen in an atmosphere between an inside surface of the package of the packaged product or object and the surface of the product or object to ozone in the atmosphere therebetween.

Prints, such as directions for product or safety, etc., may be provided on the surface of the membrane.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a low-dosed dosage form for hormone replacement therapy (HRT). More particularly, the present invention concerns a solid oral dosage form comprising about 0.5 mg estradiol and about 0.5 mg drospirenone, and at least one pharmaceutically acceptable excipient. Despite the low E2 and DRSP doses it has surprisingly been found that a very high proportion of the women suffering from moderate to severe hot flushes actually respond to this treatment. Accordingly, the dosage form of the invention may be used as maintenance HRT or may be used already when HRT is initiated.

The kit includes first and second transfer portions, which may be provided in combined form. The first transfer portion includes a prosthetic appliance and a release film. The second transfer portion includes a transfer substrate, an adhesive layer and a release coat therebetween. The second transfer portion may include a seal layer disposed between the adhesive layer and the release coat. The kit may include a package portion which may non-adhesively restrain the other components so as to protect and display the prosthetic while enabling the package portion to be opened without causing damage to the remainder of the kit. A method for producing the kit is disclosed and involves the use of a cavity mold and respective retainer plate to produce the requisite transfer portions.

A bonding structure of check-valves to a fluid container and a production apparatus of fluid container are disclosed in detail where the check valve is capable of reliably keeping the expansion of the fluid container without any fluid leakage after inflating the fluid container. As the check-valve is bonded to only one of thermoplastic container films, both films of the check-valve are fixed to one of the container films at a plurality of seal portions, thereby preventing the reverse flow by tightly closing the check valve. The plurality of seal portions in a flow pass of the fluid disrupt the fluid flow so as to add resistance to the fluid flow.

Abstract: Disclosed is a packaging system (10) for containing and dispensing loose filled product units. An inverted tray (20) is sealed to a backer board (40) with a guide insert disposed there between defining an interior chamber that is also filled with product units. The guide insert may include a base flange (38), a pair of side flanges for funneling product units into the truncated area that defines a next dispensing position. A flexible bridge (34) includes at least one high point and a fence portion that can descend into the base flange upon application of sufficient pressure to the at least one high point. This allows a product unit to advance to a dispensing position such that product units can be dispensed one at a time through user manipulation of the flexible bridge.

Abstract: A clam-shell container system can include first and second container pieces that are hingedly connected. The first container piece can include a perimeter and a hangable tab, the hangable tab having an opening configured to receive a rod. The hinge connection can be perforated, such that it breaks upon actuation of the hangable tab to open the container system. The second container piece can include a cutout in proximity to the hinge connection and the hangable tab. Accordingly, the cutout can provide clearance for the rotation of the hangable tab beyond the hinge connection. Further, the second container piece can have a perimeter having a shape substantially similar to the perimeter of the first container piece. Each blister depression includes a tapered wall for urging the consumable product out from the blister depression at a location at the blister boundary upon manual exerted on the depression.

Abstract: A display pack for a consumer product is made of two sheets of corrugated cardboard and a clear plastic container with a flat insertion portion sandwiched between the cardboard sheets. The two cardboard sheets are adhered together in a peripheral area of the package by a heat-sensitive adhesive, and the corrugations of the cardboard sheets are crushed and flattened in the peripheral area. To seal the package, the peripheral area of the two cardboard sheets is subject to sufficient pressure to crush the corrugations inside the cardboard sheets and flatten them in that area. Heat is applied to the outer side of the cardboard sheets in the peripheral area and conducted to the adhesive material between the two sheets to activate the adhesive material. A sealer machine with a heated sealing press or parallel sets of heated rollers may be used to carry out the sealing process.

Abstract: A stiff planar sheet-form member is formed with cuts extending through its thickness and framing portions that, when removed, form an array of windows, whereby the panel that remains after removing the portions may be placed against lands on one face of a blister sheet with the windows receiving respective blisters of the blister sheet for stiffening the blister sheet. The cuts extending through the thickness of the sheet-form member also form openings that communicate at opposite respective ends with respective windows.
