Abstract: A flexible, uniform mail package for use with automated mailing procedures and a method of distributing advertising and promotional items. A mail package includes a plastic tray with at least one well for containing and securing an article, such as a pen or a key tag, within the mail package. The mail package meets current and proposed USPS uniformity and flexibility standards for automated handling of the mail packages, and is capable of being processed, without issue, using automatic equipment thereby reducing postage costs compared to non-flat machinable mail pieces.

Abstract: A display packaging system includes a front panel, a rear panel, and a blister cavity. The blister cavity has a product holding chamber configured to receive at least one product and a sealing flange that extends outwardly from the product holding chamber. The sealing flange includes a series of apertures and is sandwiched between the interior surface of the front panel and the interior surface of the rear panel. Respective portions of an interior surface of the front panel and an interior surface of the rear panel are then adhered only to each other with the respective portions including portions of the interior surface of the front panel and portions of the interior surface of the rear panel that are disposed on opposite sides of the series of apertures.

Abstract: A system and method for a panel system containing embedded electronic elements providing both housing for the electronics and structural support. A preferred embodiment of the system is for a container security system, which is constructed into or conforming onto the roof, walls, door, or base of a cargo container is provided. The panel system may consist of a variety of electronic elements, batteries or power elements, sensors, a processing element to collect the sensor data, and a communications element to transmit outside of the container.

Abstract: A security packaging provides multi-layer laminate structure for providing evidence of package tampering. The packaging may include a first panel having an opening therein in planar contact with an insert member and a film layer. The film layer may include a pattern layer that may be adhered to the film layer via an adhesion layer. A second adhesion layer may be placed onto the pattern layer to adhere the pattern layer to the insert member.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for distributing samples is provided. The distribution apparatus and method includes a sample package made up of a sample product to be distributed and a sample backing, which is attached to a sample carrier. This sample distribution method has many unique advantages, including promoting a sample product that consumers can actually, see, feel, touch, taste and smell.

Abstract: A themolaminating film for receiving a blister portion in the construction of a reusable package is described. A base blister portion configured to receive some form of media or material is molded from a formable heat sealable polymer such as PETG. A film consisting of a first layer of an amorphous polyester such as APET for heat sealing to the PETG, a second layer of a polyester such as PET, and an adhesive layer is used to laminate a graphical paper based cover thereby allowing the laminated cover to be heat sealed to the blister portion. In a preferred embodiment, the PET and APET are preferably coextruded.

The rear member includes a foot allowing the package to stand substantially upright on a horizontal surface. The front member and the rear member include a latch and a slot, with the latch being configured to be inserted into the slot for maintaining the package in the closed position.

A peripheral flange extends outwardly from the perimeter of the interior space. A locking slot is configured along the perimeter of the interior space. At least one self-standing leg extends downwardly from the interior space upon which the display package stands alone. A backboard is defined by a front face and a back face. A locking tab comprises a free end extends outwardly from one edge of the back face. The locking tab includes two angled fold lines used in assisting the free end of the locking tab to be inserted into the locking slot to securely enclose the display package.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a very low-dosed dosage form for hormone replacement therapy (HRT). More particularly, the present invention concerns a solid oral dosage form comprising about 0.5 mg estradiol and about 0.25 mg drospirenone, and at least one pharmaceutically acceptable excipient. Despite the very low E2 and DRSP doses it has surprisingly been found that a high proportion of the women suffering from moderate to severe hot flushes actually respond to this treatment. Accordingly, the dosage form of the invention may be used as maintenance HRT or may be used already when HRT is initiated.

The end cap is provided with kick plate means for holding the two vertical walls against the interior of two walls of the tray member.

The clamshell package includes a panel adapted to engage the manufacturing hinge and flange to retain the manufacturing hinge in a folded position, with the panel being spaced from the operating hinge.

In one embodiment, the package of the present invention can stand alone independently on an integrated cardboard base or can be hung from a bracket or shelf as a point of sale display. In another embodiment, the package of the present invention is able to be separated into its component parts so that such parts can be, if so required, independently recycled. In still another embodiment, due to its ability to be separated the package of the present invention can comprise various components formed from dissimilar materials (e.g., paper and plastic).

In particular, the unitized packages comprise a printed base card and a fluid vessel permanently bonded to the printed base card. The fluid vessel comprises a first laminate bather layer comprising at least one layer of a biaxially oriented thermoplastic polymer, a portion of which is formed into a modified dome shape, and a planar second laminate barrier layer. The first and second laminate barrier layers are sealed together to form a fluid-tight enclosure, wherein the product material substantially fills the enclosure and the modified dome shape is resiliently sustainable. A method of manufacturing the unitized packages as described above is also provided. In particular, the method includes forming a portion of the first laminate barrier layer comprising the biaxially oriented polymer into the modified dome shape using a force such as pressurized gas.

Abstract: A flexible package for cutting blades. A flexible first layer has at least one cavity formed therein to form a base for receiving a cutting blade. A flexible second layer is arranged over the base and proximate the base. A seal is formed about the periphery of each cavity to encapsulate a cutting blade placed into the cavity, the seal being formed by applying a predetermined combination of heat and pressure to selected portions of the second layer to cause the adhesive thereon to selectively bond to the base. Movement of each encapsulated cutting blade is deterred during transport and handling by the cavity in cooperation with the seal and the second layer, the blades becoming movable within the cavity when the seal is broken.

Abstract: A display pack for a consumer product is made of two sheets of corrugated cardboard and a clear plastic container with a flat insertion portion sandwiched between the cardboard sheets. The two cardboard sheets are adhered together in a peripheral area of the package by a heat sensitive adhesive, and the corrugations of the cardboard sheets are crushed and flattened in the peripheral area. To seal the package, the peripheral area of the two cardboard sheets is subject to sufficient pressure to crush the corrugations inside the cardboard sheets and flatten them in that area. Heat is applied to the outer side of the cardboard sheets in the peripheral area and conducted to the adhesive material between the two sheets to activate the adhesive material. A sealer machine with a heated sealing press or parallel sets of heated rollers may be used to carry out the sealing process.

Abstract: A display package for scissors consists of an elongated, generally flat member having a top and bottom end, a raised hollow pedestal means mounted adjacent to said bottom end of said member, the pedestal means having a top portion with means operable to secure a finger ring of a pair scissors thereto and support the scissors horizontally above the card with arch means located adjacent to said top end of said member operable to restrain the swing of at least one of the blades of a pair of scissors mounted on the top portion of the pedestal when the handles of such scissors are manipulated by a customer. It is preferred that the top of the pastel include means for rotation of the connection with the scissors so that a greater range of manipulation is available to a prospective customer. In addition the card can include a clear cover if desired.

Abstract: A four-ply paper board hanging hole in a display box for hanging a display box from a support rod. This is accomplished by the use of a paper board die blank having a hanging hole in four layers of the box such that, when the box is assembled, the four hanging holes are aligned to provide a strongly reinforced hanging hole which proves quite difficult to rip. Therefore, an increased aesthetic appearance of the display box is achieved, resulting in increased sales and minimal wasting of display box products.

Abstract: A kit apparatus has a package holding at least one film sheet having an adhesive layer on one side, a bottle containing a solution for activating the adhesive layer of the film sheet, and a miniature squeegee. The film sheet, bottle of solution and squeegee are secured within the package. The sheet corresponds in extent to a surface of an electronic device, preferably a surface of a display device of the electronic device. The solution is used for initially cleaning the surface that is to receive the sheet and finally to wet the adhesive layer in order to secure the sheet in place. Excess solution is removed from the surface while evenly distributing the adhesive using wiping motions with the squeegee.

The display package may include a plurality of product housings adapted to rotate with respect to each other along a common axis such that product portions within the product housings may be selectively aligned to form desired configurations of a completed, displayed product.

Abstract: A display pack for a consumer product is made of two sheets of corrugated cardboard and a clear plastic container with a flat insertion portion sandwiched between the cardboard sheets. The two cardboard sheets are adhered together in a peripheral area of the package by a heat-sensitive adhesive, and the corrugations of the cardboard sheets are crushed and flattened in the peripheral area. To seal the package, the peripheral area of the two cardboard sheets is subject to sufficient pressure to crush the corrugations inside the cardboard sheets and flatten them in that area. Heat is applied to the outer side of the cardboard sheets in the peripheral area and conducted to the adhesive material between the two sheets to activate the adhesive material. A sealer machine with a heated sealing press or parallel sets of heated rollers may be used to carry out the sealing process.

Abstract: A card and blister package for small articles of commerce has a clear plastic blister piece, a card and a retainer piece. The blister piece had an article-receiving cavity and a flange extends along the upper edge of the cavity, and pluralities of upwardly extending locking posts are spaced apart along the flange. The card has openings for receiving therethrough the locking posts and the retainer piece had a plurality of integral downwardly-opening locking caps spaced therealong, whereby when the posts are engaged through the card openings the caps can be snapped into locking engagement with the blister posts so as to secure the card to the blister. Each cap is encircled by an arrangement of perforations, so as to detachably connect the cap to the retainer piece and whereby twisting of the cap will cause it to shear free of the retainer, and rotation through about 90 degrees will cause the caps to unlock from the posts, allowing the package to be opened.
