    Abstract: A screen is described wherein one end of the screen frame is provided with an upwardly open channel profile and the other end with a similar but downwardly open channel profile, such that the outboard edge of an upwardly open profile will fit within the channel of a downwardly open profile provided along the edge of an adjoining screen frame, to enable two such screens to be connected together and to enable linear movement in a direction generally perpendicular to the line of engagement and generally in the plane of at least one of the two screens, to be transmitted from one screen frame to the other. The engagement of one profile by another also serves to close the gap between the two screen frames and prevent at least particulate material from passing therebetween. Preferably the engagement prevents liquid from passing therebetween.

    Abstract: A soil screening device includes a screen frame having a screening surface, and a supporting frame. The supporting frame may have rearwardly disposed rigid uprights supporting the screen frame. The screen frame is pivotally mounted to a first upper member mounted at an upper end of the uprights, for pivoting between a lowered position and an elevated position. The supporting frame has a base frame extending forwardly of the uprights. Upper members of the base frame have at least one wedge selectively positionably mounted thereon, for example atop the upper member of the base frame. The wedge or wedges are positionable to engage a lower edge of the screen frame when in the lowered position bearing down on an upper inclined surface of the wedge or wedges. The wedge or wedges are selectively positionable relative to the upper members of the base frame so as to selectively adjust an angular orientation of the screen frame relative to the uprights.

At least one annular member is situated between two of the plurality of the portions of the screen body to be located radially inside an outer surface of the screen. The annular member has an annular concave formed in a middle thereof extending toward an inner side of the screen from the outer surface of the screen, and a width extending in the direction of the height. The width is greater than a distance of the slits vertically spaced apart from each other. Accordingly, a mat formed on the screen can be easily peeled off.

The module includes means such as ribs, grooves, beads or the like, preferable associated with both the panel and frame components for interengaging with fixing means for locating and fixing the module to a screen deck frame. Whereas the whole of a prior art screen module has to be exchanged when worn, the invention allows the exchange of one component of a module, namely the panel component, which component costs a fraction of the whole module.

The screening layer of the screen cloth is typically of the finest mesh with increasing coarseness to the support mesh. The solidified layer is positioned by placement on the supporting mesh where it is fused to impregnate through each of the screen layers to form surfaces on either side of the lamination. A heat press is employed to so configure the solidified layer. A nonstick sheet between the screening mesh and the heat press molds texture into the surface of the solidified layer for reduced slippage of material being screened on the assembly. In this way effective slot length of screen cylinders may be about 65-90% of the total screen length, compared to only about 45-55% for conventional screen cylinders.     Abstract: Vibrating screening apparatus in which one or more screen panels are supported between spring-mounted side plates on crosstubes and the several parts of the apparatus are connected primarily by bolting, the crosstubes by U-bolt and tube saddle clamps to framing for attaching the screen panels to the apparatus, the bolted connections by avoiding initial and residual stress and yielding as needed to operational stress imposed by vibrating mechanism of the apparatus, not only enabling the apparatus to operate for extended periods without fracture of parts but, should a fracture occur, permitting and facilitating selective removal of the fractured part for repair or replacement.

    Abstract: A horizontal vibrating multi-deck screen apparatus for separating different sizes of materials of generally the same type. The apparatus includes a first or upper screening basket and a second or lower screening basket. The upper screening basket has a feed chute at one end and a discharge chute at the opposite end. Each screening basket has at least one screen deck thereon for conveying and screening material. The two baskets are connected by a spring-type coupling system, including coil springs and fiberglass leaf springs. The two baskets together are supported by known types of support spring systems installed between the upper basket only and a base frame. Hence each basket constitutes one mass and each spring system one spring of a two-mass two-spring system. A pair of shaker motors mounted directly, one on each side, on the lower basket inputs a straight-line sinusoidal exciting force to the system. The exciting force and the spring forces are transmitted to both baskets and induce vibrations.

The adjoining spirals are opposite-handed and have opposite directions of rotation, their rotation being synchronized in relation to each other, and the distance of the interlocking parts of the wings from each other corresponds to the maximum acceptable thickness of the chips.Two screen baskets fitted one above the other are supported by the frame, and they are connected to each other by units that permit free movement of vibration of one or both of the screen baskets. The movement of vibration is produced by transferring a cam shaft movement from one basket to the other.

    Abstract: An improved screen separator which employs orbital motion for the positive removal of solids from liquids, such as drilling mud. A tensioned screen is mounted horizontally at it peripheral edges between parallel side members of a framework. A cushion rail mounted between the side members carries a resilient screen cushion in tight engagement with the screen. The unique screen cushion has an elongated body with a longitudinal slot receiving the lower edge of the cushion rail. The body has diverging sides which terminate at flared lips at each edge of the concave bottom side of the body. The body produces a downward bow in the screen and the bottom side surface conforms precisely to the the bowed screen. As a result, abrasive solids can not be trapped between the screen cushion and the screen. In addition, the body has diverging sides which divert solids from the screen cushion laterally onto the adjacent screen for separation from the liquid being purified.

    Abstract: A portable loam screening apparatus includes a nearly-square sloping shaker screen supported by a box-like frame. The frame has a tall end and a short end joined by two sides. Funneling surfaces directed toward the screen are provided along the upper edges of the tall end and the sides. The short end is closed to provide a wall between separated loam and coarse material. A mixture of loam and coarse material is dumped onto the shaker screen from the shovel of an excavating vehicle. The coarse material falls from the lower end of the shaker screen outside of the frame, and the loam passes through the shaker screen to within the box-like frame. The separated loam falls down a sloping table within the frame and can then be retrieved by an excavating vehicle through the open tall end of the frame. A set of wheels mounted to one side of the frame is moveable relative to the frame from an operative position for transporting the apparatus to an inoperative position for resting the frame flush on the ground.
