  • Patent number: 4336888
Abstract: A holder for stiffly flexible sheets such as flooring samples which are likely to curl at their edges and corners. The holder has a proximal edge, a distal edge, and two side edges connecting the proximal and distal edges. The edges form a top central opening through which a sheet in the holder can be seen. Each of the four edges has a top rail to restrain the sheet from upward movement. The proximal edge has a bottom restraint and an edge restraint to restrain the sheet at that edge. A bottom support extends across the area bounded by the edges to give underlying support to the sheet. The top rail at the distal edge is shaped concavely to form a deflector to deflect the leading edge of a sheet inserted into the holder. Mounting pins can be provided for mounting the holder to a stand. The deflector deflects the leading edge of the sheet which it confronts into a channel. Abstract: A multiple-item holder for paper items, such as memos, and the like, intended to be supported on a substantially horizontal auxiliary underlying supporting surface (such as that of a desk, for example) and adapted to support in any of a plurality of selected positions from one to a large number of small paper items such as bills, memos, and the like, and in a conveniently arranged, segregated manner such as to facilitate the subsequent handling of the more important ones of said items on what might be termed a priority basis. The multiple-item holder consists of an upstanding portion and a plurality of spaced laterally directed arms, thus providing a very substantial measure of visibility and not obscuring a person's view and making it possible to magnetically (or otherwise) attach or engage any desired number of small clamping devices to any portion of the device and to clampingly engage corresponding paper items which will be supported at the selected locations.

  • Patent number: 4038767
Abstract: A flexible or yieldably supported advertising sign for installation on merchandise racks, showcases, carpet display stands or "waterfalls" and the like for appropriate and necessary information to prospective purchasers on the contained merchandise and adapted to maintain a vertical position when free of overlying items for full viewing and lying in substantial horizontal position when loaded by the weight of said items. The sign or flag is adapted to automatically return to vertical position when said load is removed for continuing advertising function. The sign comprises a clip, a base member to which the clip is secured, a poster frame or panel to receive and exhibit advertising material and information and means for mounting the panel vertically along the clip, said means including yieldable interconnecting elements between the lower portion of the panel and a wall of the clip thereby permitting the panel to deflect downwardly upon application of items of merchandise thereagainst.

  • Patent number: 4010517
Abstract: Sheet support apparatus suitable for mounting sheet material is disclosed. The apparatus is especially useful for displaying information contained on paper or cardboard, or in brochures, etc.The apparatus comprises an elongated, rigid frame including three generally planar and integrally connected wall members spaced to define a cavity therebetween for receiving an edge of sheet material. Anchoring means, such as a leaf spring, are provided which can be inserted and removed from the cavity; the leaf spring cooperates with a shoulder on one wall member to anchor the sheet in the cavity.

  • Patent number: 3998334
Abstract: An improved flexible merchandise display rack capable of displaying a plurality of similar sized swatches of materials such as carpet samples. A plurality of individual assemblies are each pivotably mounted on a vertical shaft. Each assembly consists of a pair of spaced-apart disc members separated by posts connected to opposite sides of opposing discs along the periphery thereof. The space between opposing discs is a function of the width of the individual samples that are inserted about one or two or even three of the posts with the end portion of the samples towards the central shaft. A plurality of the assemblies may be stacked one above the other on a single shaft thereby allowing a greater number of samples to be displayed in a given area than has heretofore been possible to achieve. In addition, the individual samples are all supported within each assembly thereby obviating the need for the customer to hold or otherwise support any of the samples.

  • Patent number: 3975805
Abstract: A guide for slidably accepting opposite edges of an electronic circuit board has a rotating clamp which is open to offer zero frictional resistance when the board is slid into position. The clamp is in effect a bar rotatably mounted in an elongated retainer, the bar having a camming action against the retainer so that when the bar is rotated the entire length of the bar is pressed against the board to anchor it in place.

  • Patent number: 3965583
Abstract: A carpet sample rack to carry and display rectangular carpet samples. The display can include pattern samples and smaller color samples. The color samples are one-half or one-third as wide as the pattern samples so that two or three color samples will occupy the same space as a pattern sample. The rack is, essentially, a rectangular, open frame having upright sides which are spaced apart to carry a pattern sample. A vertical array of spaced holes is provided in these sides to receive locking snaps which are fitted in corresponding holes at the edges of the pattern samples. Groups of the narrower color samples are secured to transverse straps which span the frame and are snap-locked onto the sides of the frame in the same manner as is the pattern sample. Thus, the samples may be carried upon the frame in a shingled or overlapping arrangement to permit all samples to be viewed simultaneously and the color variation of any one carpet pattern can be easily viewed with the pattern itself.

  • Patent number: 3958696
Abstract: A portable hanger device for suspending articles, such as plans, drawings, catalogs, posters, and the like, particularly heavy and/or bulky sheet materials. A rigid support bar is mounted in an elongated plastic sleeve having a pair of depending plastic flanges to be secured to the article. A flexible coupling is attached to the midpoint of the bar. A hook is connected to the flexible coupling for horizontal suspension of the device. The flexible coupling between the bar and the hook enables the device to be rolled up within the article where the article itself is flexible sheet material.
