Abstract: According to a related art for evaluating the position accuracy of heaters with respect to the plate, it is necessary to attach an energizing electrode to the heaters, and energize the heaters for a predetermined period to heat the entire plate, before measuring the temperature distribution map. Therefore, there is a problem in that several tens of minutes are required until the temperature distribution map can be measured. As the plate becomes larger, the time required for energizing the heaters to heat the entire plate becomes longer. Abstract: A chuck for supporting a wafer and maintaining a constant background temperature across the wafer during laser thermal processing (LTP) is disclosed. The chuck includes a heat sink and a thermal mass in the form of a heater module. The heater module is in thermal communication with the heat sink, but is physically separated therefrom by a thermal insulator layer. The thermal insulator maintains a substantially constant power loss at least equal to the maximum power delivered by the laser, less that lost by radiation and convection. A top plate is arranged atop the heater module, supports the wafer to be processed, and provides a contamination barrier. The heater module is coupled to a power supply that is adapted to provide varying amounts of power to the heater module to maintain the heater module at the constant background temperature even when the wafer experiences a spatially and temporally varying heat load from an LTP laser beam.

Abstract: A portable device/appliance for cooling and heating beverages on a center circular metallic object/pad. The appliance body is of square shape made of hard plastic with a circular metallic pad that includes an assembly that heats and cools beverages with the help of a switch. It has an electrical means by plug/adapter for connecting to a source of direct current and for enabling the polarity of the direct current provided to be reversed so that the device can either heat or cool the beverage container that is placed on the circular metallic object/pad. It also has the ability to heat and cool beverages by battery and by USB cable connected to a PC/Computer with a USB outlet. These 3 ways of power give the device it's portability. The fact that it operates via battery power also makes it a true portable device.

Abstract: A temperature control and method of operating the temperature control, for an inductively heated heating element. The heating element is heated by an inductor to which electrical power is supplied via a control circuit, which can also be a control circuit for an induction hob or oven. The temperature control is activated at a first point in time subject to at least one electrical value of the control circuit, which depends on the temperature of the heating element. A reference value is determined at the first point in time and a comparison value and a deviation value from the reference value is determined at least one later point in time. Depending upon the deviation value, the inductor is supplied with power so that the heating element is adjusted to a substantially constant value corresponding to the reference value.

  • Patent number: 7605350
Abstract: In general, the system provides for soft baking a semiconductor wafer so that photoresist layers on the wafer are free of surface voids or craters. In particular, the system provides for manufacturing a semiconductor wafer having no photoresist craters at the completion of a two-step post-apply resist bake (soft bake) in the fabrication of an integrated circuit. In the system, the semiconductor wafer is coated with resist and then baked at both a low-bake temperature and a high-bake temperature. It is theorized that the lower temperature bake either hardens the resist layer before trapped air expands through the resist or displaces the trapped air while the resist layer remains fluid and returns to its conformal shape.
