Abstract: A plastic package for holding small articles of commerce has a clear blister portion and a rectangular card member for covering the blister portion, the blister having a bottom, front wall, rear wall, and opposing side walls, and the upper perimeter portion of the blister has a ledge extending therealong for engaging and supporting the periphery of the card, and hingedly attached along upper edges of each of the blister sides is an integral flip-up retainer member each having a “proud” point or convex surface, and when the card is positioned on the blister ledge the hinged retainer members can be rotated to a position which brings their proud points in engagement with the card. UV responsive adhesive on the proud points can be activated to bond the retainers to the card to seal the package.

Abstract: An information recording medium capable of avoiding insertion of a sheet material into a drive unit. The information recording medium is comprised of a tape cartridge that rotatably accommodates a tape reel wound with a tape-shaped recording medium (magnetic tape), a storage case that accommodates the tape cartridge, and a sheet material that is accommodated in the storage case together with the tape cartridge. The sheet material is formed to have a size in an unfolded state small enough to be accommodated in the storage case, and is accommodated in the storage case in a state where the sheet material is folded along a folding line.

Abstract: The present invention relates to improvements related to sandwich packing to reduce costs and to make more practical and hygienic the consumption of food. The packing has a superior housing (2) and an inferior housing (3) coupled together by an inferior male lip (4) and a superior female lip (5) which are interrupted, but joined together, by a flexible fold (6). The inferior part (3) has a cut line (7) to allow its division in two parts (3A and 3B). When joined, the superior and inferior housings form a similar contour of a sandwich.

Abstract: A substantially moisture tight container and lid assembly for storing and packaging moisture-sensitive items comprising an assembly with a container and a lid, the lid is attached by a hinge to an upper housing portion of the container, the lid includes a lip seal member that extends downwardly from the lid, the lip seal member is configured to abut at least a portion of the interior side of the container when the lid is in the closed position resulting in a substantially moisture tight seal between the lid and the lid, and the container assembly further comprising a base portion and an upper housing portion, the upper housing portion is capable of being snap-fit into the base portion by employing a lip seal mechanism to form a substantially moisture-tight seal.

Abstract: A carrying case made of mating case sections with a principal seal and equipped with a latching device serving as part of a pressure relief valve for opening the interior of the carrying case to the atmosphere. The latch further includes a sealing means in contact with the external edge when the latch is opened to allow passage of air through the opening when the latching device is opened and the sealing means is no longer in contact with the external edge of the opening.

Abstract: The invention relates to a housing which is composed of two housing halves (1a, 1b) that form a bottom (5) and a lid (6) and an intervening section (7). According to the invention, sections of the walls of the two housing halves (1a, 1b) are configured as respective peripheral rims (10, 11) which are joined to each other while overlapping, thereby increasing the wall thickness in the area of the rims (10, 11). The rims (10, 11) thus contribute to the wall thickness required to impart to the housing the necessary stability.

Abstract: A modular utility cargo tray is provided comprising a floor and a wall extending from the floor, the wall and the floor enabled for storage of items placed therein. The wall comprises at least a first pair of divider receiving members, oppositely disposed along the wall. The at least a first pair of divider receiving members comprises: a first level portion enabled to receive a divider generally disposed along the floor; and a second level portion enabled to receive and support a divider generally distal from the floor without interference from a divider received in the first level portion. the modular utility cargo tray is insertable into the cargo area of a vehicle, or converted to a cargo roof box by mating it with a second utility cargo tray.

Abstract: A storage container including a lid having a rectangular shape with sides and ends defining therebetween a recessed interior, the lid including at least one resistively inter-fitting portion associated with a forward extending lip edge. A base corresponds generally in outline with the lid and includes at least one mating portion defined in an overlapping forward lip edge and which is arrayed in opposing and communicable fashion with the lid inter-fitting portion. The interfitting portions established between the lid and base are positioned opposite a rear hinged edge and provide tactile snap shut engagement of the lid and base.

Abstract: An insulated tank assembly with insulation stop and a method of constructing such an assembly. The assembly includes an inner tank with an outer shell located in spaced relation to and surrounding the inner tank, creating at least one annular clearance space between the tank and the shell. The space is closed by a sealing device that includes a circumferential sealing strip having an unstretched strip length that is less than either the continuous outer top edge length or the continuous outer bottom edge length, or both, of the strip. Such length relationships make the sealing strip both resilient and resistant to rolling during construction of the assembly. The sealing strip may be a fibrous strip. The tank assembly may be insulated by placing insulating material within the at least one annular clearance space, which may be a foamable insulation material, foamed in place within the annular clearance space.

Abstract: A shipping unit for shipping items of varying length defines first and second tray sections which are connected and selectively move relative to one another to accommodate items of varying lengths. The first and second tray sections include base portions that allow shipping units to be stacked upon one another. Alternatively, the shipping unit includes a tray and a lid. The lid is connected to the tray and defines a tab and a slot on an end of the lid opposite the tab. The shipping units are connected by snap fitting the tab of one shipping unit into the slot of another shipping unit.

The apparatus in a first embodiment comprises a cup section comprising a base comprising a top surface, a bottom surface, and an edge, and a wall extending from the base at a first end of the wall, the top surface of the base and the wall defining a cavity. The apparatus in this embodiment further comprises a scraper section comprising a base member having one or more arms, each arm having a peripheral end and a blade member extending from each the peripheral end at a first end of the blade member, each blade member having a first axial edge and a second axial edge and a second end opposite the first end, the scraper section further comprising a head ring mounted to each the second end, and a system for attaching the scraper section to the cup section. The cup section attaches to the scraper section in one embodiment by a boss in the case of the cup section engaging an aperture in the base member of the scraper section.

Abstract: A cleaning chemical dispensing system includes: a liquid chemical additive having a predetermined viscosity; a mop bucket; a mop wringer provided on the bucket; a first indicator indicating a first volume of cleaning liquid in the bucket; and a reservoir for the additive, the reservoir positioned above the first indicator, and having a base, one or more upstanding walls continuously contiguous with and fully surrounding the base, an opening opposite the base for pouring the additive into the reservoir, a metering orifice in the base, and a second indicator indicating a second volume for the additive which corresponds to the first volume of the bucket so as to provide a required ratio of additive to cleaning liquid, the orifice being dimensioned to correspond to the predetermined viscosity of the additive, so that the additive can be poured into the reservoir before any significant amount of additive passes through the orifice.

The lunch box has a sufficient structural strength and can be manufactured in a cost effective process.

When two bases or covers are stacked up, the distance between the two neighboring bases or the two covers is less than the height of the engaging portion of a single base or a single cover, thus substantially reducing the required storage space of the product while improving the transportation volume.

The second element is threadable onto the first element by means of the cylindrical walls and the first and second thread segments to bring the peripheral walls into aligned abutment and the locking tabs into engagement with the locking projections to resist unthreading of the elements.

Abstract: A device and method is provided for the inline storage of water during pressurized use. The device provides a one-way valve associated with an incoming attachment point of a water tank assuring that water does not flow back through the incoming attachment point. The tank is constructed with two hemispherical caps at the ends connected by a tubular body providing structure when pressurized. The incoming attachment point is connected with the tank near the top preventing backpressure. An outgoing attachment point is connected with the tank as well.

Abstract: A container and cap assembly for storing and packaging moisture-sensitive items comprising an assembly with a container and a cap, a portion of the cap includes a lid that is attached by a hinge to the cap portion, the container has a container base, and a sidewall depending upwardly from the base, a top container surface extends inward from the sidewalls, the top container surface is provided with an opening that permits access to the interior of the container, the cap portion has a base portion with an outer periphery that extends over at least a portion of the container portion.

Abstract: In order to facilitate the shipping and display of products for selection and purchase by a consumer, the product shipping and display carton includes a display box, a shipping sleeve, and a removable fastener. The display box is defined by a bottom panel and an upwardly extending wall panel together forming a product carrying enclosure. The display box has an open top defined by a top wall panel edge opposite the bottom panel. The wall panel has a removable panel portion below the open top defining a product viewing window in the display box. The shipping sleeve is defined by a top panel and a downwardly extending wall panel together forming a telescoping enclosure. The shipping sleeve has an open bottom defined by a bottom wall panel edge opposite the top panel. The display box is positioned in the telescoping enclosure such that the open top is covered by the shipping sleeve.

Abstract: A latching system including both apparatus and methods addresses the need for a reusable latch that is identical on either side of a container opening, thereby facilitating container manufacture. Also disclosed are apparatus and methods for assuring the quality of latchable container enclosed contents and enhancing the safety of container users by providing an unopened condition assurance element such as a tab that is removable from a reusable container latch. A novel latching system with a split insertion element on a first latch side and unitary receptor element on a second latch side is also disclosed. A preferred embodiment involves an elastically obstructed latch as used on a squeeze-openable container.

Abstract: A housing structure includes a first plurality of wall panels which form a lower course and a second plurality of wall panels which form an upper course. Each of the wall portions is generally rectangular and includes integrally formed interlocking portions which facilitate attachment of adjacent lateral edges of the wall portions of the first plurality to each other. Integrally formed interlocking portions facilitate attachment of the panels in the lower course to the panels in the upper course. In addition, rectangular roof panels are provided to enclose the housing structure. The interlocking portions enable the panels to slide into an interlocked engagement configuration thereby forming a rigid structure without the need for tools.

Abstract: A tamper-resistant container with tamper evident feature which includes a cover portion defining a outwardly extending peripheral flange, a base portion defining an upper peripheral edge, and a hinge joining the outwardly extending peripheral flange with the base portion. The upper peripheral edge includes an upwardly projecting bead extending substantially about the perimeter of the base portion that is configured to render the outwardly extending flange of the cover portion relatively inaccessible when the container is closed. The hinge includes a frangible section, which upon severing, provides a projection that extends out beyond the upwardly projecting bead of the upper peripheral edge of the base portion, for facilitating removal of the cover portion from the base portion to open the container.

Abstract: The present invention provides a vehicle ventilation system, and, in particular, a heating and air-conditioning assembly and method of making such an assembly, wherein the assembly comprises a multi-portion HVAC housing and an alignment feature. The alignment feature preferably follows the contours of the housing portions of the HVAC. Preferably, the alignment feature is a baffle, or, in particular, a cross flow baffle, that serves an air directing as well as bridge function between housing portions of the HVAC, reducing packaging space for the HVAC unit while providing ease of assembly and reduced tool complexity for multi-piece HVAC housings.

The hinge includes a frangible section, which upon severing, provides a projection that extends out beyond the upwardly projecting bead of the upper peripheral edge of the base portion, for facilitating the disengagement of the engagement mechanism and removal of the cover portion from the base portion to open the container.

Abstract: A container for hot carry-out food includes a container body and a cover, each having flanges and the flanges defining a pair of seals between which is a condensation collecting chamber and radially outboard of an outermost seal is a second condensation collecting chamber which is continuously vented to atmosphere through radial venting passages or channels. Under elevated pressures, as might occur when hot food is packages in the container, the innermost seal opens permitting steam/gasses to vent into the innermost condensation collection chamber in which the steam might condense as condensate. Under higher internal container pressures, the outboardmost seal may also open and vent gasses from the innermost condensation chamber through/into the outermost condensation collection chamber and continuously from the latter to atmosphere through a plurality of continuously open circumferential spaced radial venting passages or channels.

Abstract: A case for a recording tape cartridge is formed by joining an upper case and a lower case via mutual peripheral walls. The engaged embossings secure the first and second units to one another. The package can include integrally formed end closures.

Abstract: The present invention relates to the use of vacuum packaging and vacuum packaging techniques. Embodiments of the present invention include bales and packages comprising a sealed chamber having an internal volume at a pressure less than ambient atmospheric pressure. In alternate embodiments of the present invention, the internal volume of the package comprises a bulk material, a bulk fiber material, fibers or fibrous materials. Also disclosed are methods for packaging, packaging systems and apparatus for packaging.

The article container and display device of the present invention may include a case/stand having first and second case units for removable attachment to each other and containing a display frame which holds the article. The case/stand defines a container configuration when the display frame is contained in the case units and the first case unit removably engages the second case unit. Alternatively, the case/stand defines a display stand configuration when the first case unit and the second case unit are placed in adjacent, semi-facing relationship to each other and the display frame is supported by the case units. A latch mechanism may be provided on one or both of the case units for removably engaging the other case unit.

The rim has a first plurality of ribs projecting generally upwardly therefrom such that first spaces are formed between adjacent ribs. The second rim and the first rim are shaped substantially the same. The first container may be shaped substantially the same as the second container.

Abstract: A container has a rigid, elongate reclosable fastener, a slider and a track for the slider. The track defines a travel path lying in more than one plane. The travel path has vector components extending in each of mutually orthogonal X, Y and Z directions. The slider is slidably attached to the reclosable fastener and moved along the track to open and close the reclosable fastener.

Abstract: A tank for transporting liquids is provided. The tank includes a tank vessel having an internal baffle system including an X-shaped baffle arrangement that extends through the interior of the tank vessel in the longitudinal direction. A plurality of entry hatches can be provided in the tank vessel for permitting access into the interior of the tank vessel. Each entry hatch has a removable hatch plate and is sized to allow a person to enter the tank therethrough. At least selected ones of the baffles in the tank have access openings therethrough. Each access opening has an associated pivotal baffle door that is movable between open and closed positions. The access openings are provided in the baffles such that a person can traverse through the interior of the tank between two of the entry hatches. The tank also is equipped with a variable volume system.

Abstract: A strap mounting space is formed around a boss formed on an upper cover and a lower cover which, when assembled together, form a case for an apparatus. One, or each, of the upper cover and the lower cover is/are formed integrally with a respective boss, preferably at each corner, so that the respective bosses at corresponding, common corners of the upper and lower covers, when assembled, are in an aligned and abutting relationship. Abstract: In a waterproof structure of an electrical junction box which renders the electrical junction box waterproof by bringing a stepped section 16 of a cover 2 into contact with a flange section 21 of a case 3, a protuberance 23 to be brought into pressing contact with the stepped section or the flange section is formed along the periphery of the stepped section 16 or the flange section 21. In order to provide effective sealing, the leading edge of the protuberance 23 is brought into line contact with the flange section 21 or the stepped section 16. Further, a skirt wall 13 is formed so as to extend downwardly from the stepped section 16, and a second skirt wall 22 is formed so as to extend from the flange section 21 along the skirt wall 13.
