Abstract: The invention relates to a container (1) comprising a sealing device (4) which has an outlet opening, a valve (8), and a seat (7) for cooperation with said valve (8), the valve (8) being movable by means of a fluid conduit (12) with respect to the seat (7) from a first position (I), in which the valve (8) rests against the seat (7) so as to close the container (1), into a second position (II), in which the valve (8) is free from the seat (7) so as to open the container, wherein resilient means (18) are provided for exerting a force on the valve (8) in at least a direction from the second position (II) to the first position (I) of the valve (8). The resilient means (18) close the valve (8) again by means of a resilient force in a direction from the second position to the first position of the valve (8). The container can thus be sealed in a reliable and efficient manner.

  • Patent number: 6457614
Abstract: A faucet comprises a valve body having a bore, an inlet port and an outlet port. A plunger is disposed in the valve body and is reciprocated in the bore. The inlet port opens into a fluid passage adapted for connection to a pressurized source, and the outlet port opens into a dispensing spigot adapted to discharge materials from the faucet. A handle having a pivotal lever is disposed in the valve body and engages the plunger to reciprocate longitudinally through the bore. A plug is mounted on the plunger and has axial and radial sealing surfaces. The plug is forced against the axial valve seat when the valve is closed to deform in both axial and radial directions. The plunger is alternatively designed with channels on its exterior and passages through its interior for use with low-viscosity fluids and with a sealing arrangement for use with high-viscosity fluids. • Patent number: 6253972
Abstract: A liquid valve particularly suited for dispensing of glue at high repetition rate has a solenoid-retracted pin that normally engages a valve seat to close the valve. Glue under pressure enters the chamber in which the pin operates, close to the valve seat. To seal against the flow of pressurized glue up along the pin toward the solenoid, and also to exert a light valve closing force on the pin, a thin metal bellows member is sealed and fixed to the pin near its lower end, at one end of the bellows, and to a connector within which the pin slides, at an opposite, upper end of the bellows. The geometry of the valve seat and the valve closure end of the pin is such that only a very slight retraction of the valve pin opens the valve sufficiently to deliver glue at full velocity through the valve orifice. The valve is capable of accurate glue dispensing through a wide range of operating pressure.

Abstract: Apparatus for dispensing liquids, such as viscous liquids used during the manufacture of electronic component assemblies. The apparatus includes a valve body having a liquid passage with a valve seat and an outlet. A needle is mounted for reciprocating movement between open and closed positions in the liquid passage and with respect to the valve seat to dispense liquid from the outlet. An armature is connected for reciprocating movement with the needle and a magnetic element is mounted outside the liquid passage and movable between a first position that attracts the armature and moves the needle into the open position and a second position at which the armature and the needle are forced to the closed position by way of a return spring. An actuator is operatively connected to the magnetic element to move the magnetic element between the first and second positions.

  • Patent number: 6170706
Abstract: A hand holdable pump spray system where the pump mechanism is in the hand holdable wand rather than in the liquid container. The wand may be held with one hand while the pump handle is extended with the other hand. This creates a pressure differential which allows liquid to flow from the container into the wand. A biased spring provides force against the liquid so that when a thumb actuated trigger opens the nozzle, the liquid will be ejected. Should all of the liquid not be ejected, there is a liquid return mechanism which opens a check valve and allows the liquid to return to the container through a supply tube connecting the wand and the container.
