  • Patent number: 8360337
Abstract: An ultrasonic waterjet apparatus has a mobile generator module and a high-pressure water hose for delivering high-pressure water from the mobile generator module to a hand-held gun with a trigger and an ultrasonic nozzle. An ultrasonic generator transmits high-frequency electrical pulses to a piezoelectric or magnetostrictive transducer which vibrates to modulate a high-pressure waterjet flowing through the nozzle. The waterjet exiting the ultrasonic nozzle is pulsed into mini slugs of water. The ultrasonic waterjet apparatus may be used to cut and de-burr materials, to clean and de-coat surfaces, and to break rocks. The ultrasonic waterjet apparatus performs these tasks with much greater efficiency than conventional continuous-flow waterjet systems because of the repetitive waterhammer effect. A nozzle with multiple exit orifices or a rotating nozzle may be provided in lieu of a nozzle with a single exit orifice to render cleaning and de-coating large surfaces more efficient.

Abstract: An outlet assembly for a spray dispenser comprises an actuator member, an outlet member, and an adjustment member. The actuator member comprises a stem portion, a first displacement surface portion, and at least one finger. The outlet member is arranged adjacent to the actuator member such that the outlet member and the actuator member define a dispensing path and the outlet member is adjacent to the at least one finger. The adjustment member is arranged relative to the actuator member. Movement of the adjustment member relative to the actuator member displaces the adjustment member relative to the actuator member to deform the at least one finger. As the at least one finger deforms, the at least one finger deforms the outlet member to alter a cross-sectional area of the outlet opening.

Furthermore, the cover has a first surface and a second surface, and a depressed structure extends from the first surface of the cover toward the second surface, and has an opening on the first surface and a bottom disposed opposite the opening. A water jetting hole penetrates through the bottom of the depressed structure. Because the water jetting hole is disposed in the depressed structure, the peripheral structure of the water jetting hole has the greater thickness and the higher structural strength. Even if an external force is exerted, the water jetting hole and its periphery cannot deform.
