Abstract: A dual sack rack frame (10) allows mail sacks (12) and (14) of different sizes or, alternatively, tray receptacles (100) and (110) to be used as output for the small parcels and bundles sorting system used by the United States Post Office. The mail sacks (12) and (14) are connected to rear, pivotable, spring biased retention hooks 46 and front, stationary hooks (50) or (52), respectively. The tray receptacles (100) and (110) are positioned on tray supports (36) which are pivoted downward when mail sack collection is no longer desired. The dual sack rack frame (10) is easily exchangeable with other collection receptacles by simply pivoting the chute support brackets (32) to a non-supportive position and detaching the plunger pin (22) which connects it to the stabilizing frame.

Abstract: The present invention includes a rim which is secured to a handle. The lower edge of the rim includes a lip which assists in the pick-up of waste. A bag for catching the waste is suspended from the rim. The bag is retained on the rim by hooking the bag around hooked tabs located along the sides and lower edge of the rim and around one tab selected from several tabs which are located proximate the ends of the rim and which are arranged at incrementally further distances from the rim.

Abstract: A bag holder for use with a bag having at least one hand grip, which comprises an elongated body having a first end, a mid-portion and a second end with a tongue positioned at the mid-portion of the body for securing the bag holder to a nail body or the like, a cabinet door handle, an edge of a door/drawer, a side of a door, a shelf edge or the like, to securely hold a bag while maintaining the bag in an open position in order to permit easy access to the interior of the bag for placement of objects into the bag. A first and a second bag grip receiving means are positioned at the first and the second end, respectively, of the elongated body to securely and supportingly receiving the hand grip of a bag thereby supporting the bag and any objects therein.

Abstract: A device for being attached to a support member and for holding a sandwich-type bag with the mouth of the bag held open to allow trash and the like to be easily inserted into the bag. The device includes a base member for being attached to the support member; and a tab member attached to the base member for extending into the cuff of the bag to hold the bag to the device.

Abstract: A support and drape apparatus which is attached to an operating room table for retaining fluid excess during surgery. The support is a framework of two lateral members and a transverse member attached to each lateral member such that a perimeter is formed in conjunction with the operating room table. A waterproof drape is placed on the framework such that a pocket retains the fluid. The drape may have a water permeable drain. The lateral members have a substantially rigid portion connected to a flexible portion and the transverse member is relatively flexible throughout its length, which allows the framework to give to allow movement by the surgeon without destroying the integrity of the pocket.

Abstract: A bag holder for supporting a conventional plastic grocery bag in an open position for use as a waste receptacle. The bag holder includes a support frame and a pair of collapsible swing arms connectible on opposed ends of the support frame. Adjustable and lockable mounting brackets are provided for removably mounting the support frame on a support surface, such as a drawer or cabinet underneath a kitchen countertop.

Abstract: A plastic strip having outwardly projecting ears for hooking over and being supported on the rim of a trash container. The strip has shoulders on each end of which the strap ends of a t-shirt type plastic bag are attached, supporting the bag in the container.

Abstract: An easy opening bag pack and supporting rack system is provided which includes a plurality of gussetted bags of the T-shirt type or of the flat top type provided with bag mounting apertures through all of the bag walls on opposed sides thereof and additional cuts in the front wall portion and the front section of the gussetted side wall portions and in communication with the bag mounting apertures therein for effectively enlarging such apertures. A rack mounts the bag pack through the mounting apertures and includes stub shaft supports laterally spaced from each other and being of a length less than the outwardly extending dimensions of an open bag and greater than the thickness of the bag pack and include an enlarged portion on the free outer ends thereof of greater dimensions than the bag mounting apertures.

Abstract: A support for plastic bags having handles or carrying loops, which support is characterized by a frame having a rectangular or square base, a pair of vertical members rigidly upward-standing from the base and a bag retainer supported by the vertical members parallel to and spaced from the base. A pair of bag handle retainers are provided on the vertical members and an optional lid 15 may be hinged to the bag retainer. The support is designed to receive plastic shopping bags provided with integral, oppositely-disposed handles, such that the bag pouch is inserted through the bag retainer and over the base, with the handles folded over opposite sides of the bag retainer and extended into engagement with the oppositely-disposed bag handle retainers. The optional lid may then be closed over the top or mouth of the bag, as desired.

Abstract: A trash bag holding bracket device which has a frame, which is preferably of a rectangular shape and which, preferably, includes means for the adjustability of the shape of such frame is disclosed. Attachment, in either a removable or fixed manner, is achieved by a plurality of clips, preferably located at points along the frame wherein such clips can adequately support the frame of the invention within the dimensions of the trash basket being used. The plurality of clips are to engage the upper rim of the trash basket in a manner wherein the clips surround the upper rim of the basket. Preferably, the clips are also shaped in a manner in which their shape reinforces the securement of the clips to the top portion of the basket.

Abstract: A laundry receptacle includes a backboard and a basketball hoop removably secured thereto by a bracket. A laundry bag is affixed at its open end about the periphery of the hoop. The bracket is designed to permit quick attachment and removal of the hoop. The bracket includes a downwardly opening hook portion to engage the upper surface of the hoop and two arms to engage the underside of the hoop. Hooks disposed along the upper edge of the backboard are adapted to fit onto the upper edge of a door for supporting the backboard thereon.

Abstract: To enable mail bags to be disengaged from a bag rack without lifting, bag hooks are provided with a constant radius curvature about a pivotal axis and are equipped with a handle for enabling them to be rotatively manually biased so that when used alone or in conjunction with fixed top bag supporting posts, a filled mail bag may be released from a bag rack and closed without requiring strenuous physical exertion on the part of a postal worker.

Abstract: A device for holding dialysis bags includes a hollow funnel-like member for holding dialysis bags of various sizes. A hanger arrangement extends from the funnel-like member, whereby said member carrying a dialysis bag may be suspended within a vessel or the like without additional support. A cap is secured to the funnel-like member to seal said member.

Abstract: A device, storable in a pocket or purse, containing two extendable arms, attached to each other at one end, which spread apart when extended due to spring action. In this extended position the arm tips and apex, each having a nubble, are in triangular arrangement so that a disposable bag can be stretchably attached over the nubbles at these three points, thus covering the fork arms and protecting them from soiling. In this method the bag is used as a receptacle for dog feces which is pushed into it with a small stick or other disposable material. After use the arms are pushed back into the handle of the device so that it can be discreetly stored.

Abstract: An apparatus for holding bags or the like (10), includes a stand (11), a first arm (14), a second arm (18), and a plurality of attaching means (24). The first arm (14) is demountably attached to an upstanding support (12) of stand (11), and the upstanding support is held upright by a base (13). The second arm (18) is pivotably connected to the first arm (14) and biasing means (20) mounted therebetween tend to force the second arm (18) to its open position. The second arm (18) can also be maintained in mating juxtaposition with the first arm (14) and thereby serves to temporarily close a bag (23) which is supported by holder (10), or if desired, a closure (30) may be provided. Holder (10) can be disassembled and first arm (14) removed from upstanding support (12). A dust pan (17) carried by first arm (14) can be positioned at different elevations including the floor.

Abstract: Presented is a support frame for supporting in upright position the limp plastic film bags now being dispensed with greater regularity in retail outlets for the convenience of shoppers in carrying their purchases from the store. The limp plastic bags are closed at the bottom, open at the top and are provided with two strap-like extensions associated with the open end by which the bag may be carried or suspended. The support frame is constructed of injection molded plastic and includes a base for supporting the frame on the floor or another supporting surface such as a table, and four upright posts are provided at each corner of the base, pairs of which join at the top to provide hooks from which the bag extensions may be suspended while the bag is being filled with purchases. Cross-pieces join the pairs of posts to provide a handle suitable for gripping in the hand for lifting the frame and attached bag to facilitate moving the assembly to another more convenient location.

Abstract: A trash entry chute device for mounting on a top-opening trash container, which device supports and holds open a limp plastic film bag for use as a disposable liner for the container. The device comprises a chute having a flange which supports the device on the container and diverts trash into the chute, and bag support means in opposite positions on the outside surface of the chute. When a bag is supported by the device, the chute fits into the mouth of the bag, holding it open to receive trash.

Abstract: A holder to maintain a handle-type bag in open condition. A back and two spaced forwardly projecting arms are configured with notches to securely retain the bag handle and top edges to maintain the thus mounted bag in fully open condition.

Abstract: The device converts the bags into baskets, particularly refuse baskets and may support other objects and accessories. The device comprises three supports: a vertical frame, a base and two pivoting rods. The vertical frame and the base are joined by an axis of the two pivoting rods. The vertical frame is locked with the base by means of hooks of the base. The bag is laid having one side supported by the vertical top where the angle thereof passes through the handle of the bag and a portion of the wall covers the rounded sides of the frame. The opposite side of the bag is supported by means at the extremities of the two pivotating rods. The device may be suspended by its angle and the base may be unlocked to let long bags pass through. The vertical frame may have along its two arms a plurality of supporting means to support more twin supporting rods which will carry other bags and/or horizontal supports as that of the base to sustain tissues boxes, etc.

Abstract: Flexible bag dispensers for plastic bags such as those used to carry merchandise purchased in grocery stores or hardware stores. The dispensers are generally "w"-shaped to form two cells in order to dispense two sets of bags. The frame is formed by a back portion which connects three or more side portions which support the bags. Flexion members such as spring-loaded hinges may be mounted to and connect members in the back portion, one or more side portions, or at intersections between one or more side portions and the back portion to allow the side portions to flex when a person or object impacts the dispenser.

Abstract: A container support is provided and having a first component attached to a flat surface and a second component spaced a distance from the first component and in alignment therewith and also attached to a flat surface. The components are equally structured and have arms for attaching the same to a flat surfaces. The components have wells for receiving the handles of a container whereby the container is supported therein. The flat surfaces may be the inside walls of a cabinet such that when the cabinet door is closed the container which functions to receive articles to be discarded is concealed.

Abstract: An article adapted for holding, by its loops, in a substantially open position, a bag such as a plastic supermarket bag having at least two loops at or near the top of the bag includes a substantially flat, elongated, generally rectangular-shaped base member for attaching the article to a vertically-oriented flat surface such as a wall and, attached to the base member, at substantially right angles, two bag-supporting members at substantially opposite ends of the base member. The bag-supporting members are disposed in parallel to one another, and include hooks at each end to engage one of the two bag loops.

Abstract: A foldable and expandable frame for use independently of or as a part of a wall mounted system for reinforcing the opening periphery of a flexible container, such as a plastic bag or the like, to facilitate filling and emptying of the container. The frame includes a pair of identical frame members each hinged centrally thereof and at opposite ends interconnected with integral hinge pin portions to facilitate expanding movement of the frame from a folded parallel storage position to an expanded container reinforcing and holding position. The frame members include an integral locking arrangement which releasably locks the frame members in the storage and expanded positions. Bracket mounting means are included in the system to mount the frame on a vertical supporting surface.

Abstract: A pair of hangers are employed to support and hold open a plastic grocery bag to reuse the grocery bag as a trash bag. The hangers are each formed of a pair of upright standards and a laterally extending stretching rack bounded at opposite ends by the upright standards. The stretching rack is of a length suitable to receive a handgrip loop of a plastic grocery bag so that the upright standards hold the loop stretched across the stretching rack. The hangers are mounted on opposite ends of the rim of a waste container or upon a vertical support in horizontally spaced separation from each other so that the plastic grocery bag is suspended from and held open by the hangers for reuse as a trash bag.

Abstract: This invention provides a supporting structure for supporting two different types of flexible containers or bags. The structure is capable of supporting open mouth type bags, and in addition, can support handle type bags. Embodiments are disclosed for supporting of both side type handle bags as well as bags provided with handles in the front and rear. The supporting structure for flexible containers comprises retaining means for retaining the open mouth of a flexible container open under tension; means for restraining lateral movement of a container mounted in the device, the means for restraining lateral movement comprising a pair of spaced apart, opposed restraining members extending below the retaining means; opposed engaging means for releasably engaging and retaining a handle of a handle bag; bag bottom supporting means for supporting a bottom of the flexible container; and means for mounting the supporting apparatus.

Abstract: This invention relates to a bracket for retaining and supporting limp plastic bags as liners in a trash receptacle. The bracket includes leg means for clamping onto the upper rim of the trash receptacle and includes two or more projections, upwardly extending, to engage openings within said limp flexible plastic liner for holding and retaining said liner in the trash receptacle.

Abstract: A holder, for supporting a thin, collapsible, self-handle, plastic trash bag, is made of a continuous piece of small-diameter wire, bent into a generally "U"-shaped configuration with a prong and hooks. The holder is designed to fit into a plurality of small holes in the side of a trash container so that the assembly may be made without any fasteners or adhesives, and so that the holder may be removed for transfer to and use with more than one trash container.

Abstract: A bag opening apparatus comprises a pair of pivotable pins mounted on a movable carriage. The carriage is mounted on the rod of the first piston and cylinder assembly so that is may move in and out of proximity with a stack of mesh bags to be opened and filled. The mesh bags are supported on one face only so that the opposed face may be opened by inserting the pins into the bag and moving the pins outward to engage the mesh faces. Only the face which is not suspended will be opened as the pins are drawn away on the movable carriage. A second piston and cylinder assembly includes a stop pumper which is located to control the extent that the carriage is retracted and to thereby control the extent of the bag opening.

Abstract: Bag holding apparatus is disclosed comprising a foldable structure which permits the attachment thereto of reusable plastic or paper bags. A planar member is foldable into a back member, side members hingedly rotatable into a perpendicular position with respect to the back member on each side thereof, and a top member hingedly rotatable down onto the top edges of the side members. Alternative means are formed into the side members to allow the attachment of the reusable bags to the foldable structure. One alternative means comprises contoured cutouts in the side members whereby a reusable bag having handles attached thereto may be secured to the cutouts in the side members. Another alternative means comprises snap means whereby a handless bag may be secured to the side members with the thickness of the bag being captured between a raised protrusion which snap fits within a hole.

Abstract: A fabric laundry bag is combined with a support for supporting the mouth of the bag in an open substantially horizontal plane. The support has a pair of parallel arms spaced from each other by a connector, the connector carrying a hanger. The laundry bag has a sleeve proximate the mouth for receiving the spaced arms of the support. The plane of the hanger in relation to the plane in which the arms are disposed in slightly less than 90 degrees, whereby when the hanger is hung, for example on a door knob, the spaced arms are oriented in a substantially horizontal plane thereby presenting the mouth of the laundry bag in a substantially horizontal plane.

Abstract: A polygonal body is provided with a vane in each corner, having a pointed upper tip on which a flexible plastic bag may be fit. A cap in the form of an open frame of conforming polygonal shape covers the top of the body. The frame is provided with depending fingers between its corners. The fingers extend over the plastic bag to wedge the bag against the body walls.

Abstract: A multi-bag supporting stand useful for efficient sand bagging operations has a base, a vertical support extending from said base, and a dual bag holder frame slideable along the vertical support for adjusting the height of the bag support frame for differently dimensioned bags. In one embodiment, the dual bag holder is expandable to a quadruple bag holder by attachment of single bag holder modules. Both the dual and single bag holders are adjustable for different bag widths, and each includes bag supporting hooks from which bags may be hung.

Abstract: A receptacle support system to allow receptacles such as bags to be loaded with articles. The system, in one preferred form, may be incorporated in a supermarket trolley (1) and essentially comprises an upper frame (7) carrying opposing pairs of hooks (13, 14). The hooks (14) are fixed to the frame while the hooks (13) are movable relative to the frame, so that when a bag is hooked over the respective pairs of opposing hooks, movement of the hooks (13) away from hooks (14) by handle (12) causes the bag mouth to be opened. To close the bag, hooks (13) are moved in the opposite direction by handle (15). The system may be incorporated in supermarket checkouts or any other application where it is necessary for bags to be held open while being loaded.

Abstract: Flexible packaging bags are sequentially air-opened one at a time at a packaging station and filled with an article to be packaged while resting on top of a packaging table, which is removable so as to expose an area beneath the table in which a stacked and wicket held supply of the packaging bags is stored for use in the packaging operation, a selected number of the bags being periodically removed from the stacked supply of bags and transferred to the packaging station while still held by the wicket.

Abstract: In a rack particularly intended for suspending refuse disposal bags and having a circumferentially discontinuous carrier of variable size designed to retaining and stretching the top or mouth portion of the bag, said carrier comprises opposite, scissorslike holders (18,19 and 20,21) capable of distending the bag mouth both in an open position, substantially in rhomboid shape, and in a closed, assembled or collapsed position, thereby saving a cover for covering the bag between the fillings.The holders are preferably mounted in a pair of brackets (2,3) having an adjustable spacing so that the rack may be used for bags and sacks of considerably varying mouth sizes.

Abstract: A sanitary water barrel for use on construction job sites and the like. This system employs a substantially standard barrel that has been modified to accept a replaceable plastic liner. The exterior of the water barrel near the upper end thereof is provided with radially extending hook members to engage with apertures placed near the upper periphery of a replaceable liner. The liner is provided with an integral spout which is passed through an opening in the side wall of the barrel. A weight- and spring-biased closure mechanism normally bears against the spout of the liner as it leaves the barrel causing the closing of the spout and therefore prevents water leakage therefrom. Water is caused to flow by raising a lever on the valve when desired. These special liners can be fabricated in a roll type fashion similar to garbage bags with perforated tear lines provided to separate each individual liner unit.

Abstract: A phonograph record holder having a frame comprising a base element and two substantially flat faced upright elements attached at the lower end to the base element and extending upwardly in parallel spaced apart relationship, each of the inner faces of the upright elements having at least one vertical groove in spaced relationship for receiving and holding a phonograph record jacket in a vertical position with the open end of the jacket on top, and further having means thereon for holding the open end of the jacket and liner in spread-apart position to thereby permit the easy grasping of the contained record and its removal from the jacket and liner.

Abstract: A self-locking grip for bags and sheet material is provided having a multiplicity of grit-like points positioned to be brought into firm gripping relation with sheeting or the like draped under tension over these points. Typically, the sheeting is draped over a grit-covered semi-circular surface merging with the grit-covered sidewall of a slot, and held in contact therewith by spongy resilient material fixed to the other side of the slot. This resilient material is readily compressed to receive or to release the edge of the sheet material.

Abstract: A support frame for bags of the type having handles is disclosed. This frame enables the use of shopping bags as garbage bags. The frame includes a bag rim support ring-like member, a downwardly-spaced reinforcing member; a first pair of laterally-located bag handle catch members, each having a free lower end; a second pair of catch members located at the front and back portions of the frame for bags having handles formed in their wider sides; a close-fitting cover pivotally secured to the back portion of the frame and adapted to cover the bag rim support means and the bag rim folded thereover. The frame is adapted to be supported horizontally and may include a bag storage means at its lower end.

Abstract: An improved trash container apparatus for mounting a plastic grocery bag therein for use as a trash container liner is described. Brackets for mounting a plastic grocery bag with the trash container and design and attachment thereof are described.

Abstract: A rotary horizontal table is provided and has item delivery structure associated therewith for supplying items to be packaged to the table and a plurality of stationary worker positions are disposed about the table slightly outwardly of the periphery thereof. Rotary container support structure spaced apart in a generally circular path substantially concentric with the axis of rotation of the table is also provided and supported for simultaneous angular displacement about the table with the support structure substantially registered with the outer periphery of the table. Workpersons disposed at the worker positions may manually transfer items from the table to containers supported from the container support structure and first drive structure is operatively connected to the table for rotating the latter while second drive structure is operably connected to the container support structure for angularly displacing the latter.

Abstract: A disposable shipper-dispenser comprises telescopingly assemblage carton top and bottom members. The bottom member includes spaced sidewalls, an open top and an open front. The sidewalls have downwardly and forwardly inclined bag-handle-guide edge portions and a vertically extending intermediate edge portion defining a stop at the forward end of the inclined portion. Each of the sidewalls additionally includes a vertical front edge which is spaced forwardly from the stop edges to define a bag-handle spreader-hanger therebetween.

Abstract: An apparatus for dispensing individual plastic handle bearing bags from a stack of bags and holding the dispensed bag in an open position for loading. The apparatus comprises a bottom support member and two spaced-apart, oppositely disposed upwardly projecting tab members such that the apparatus has an opening corresponding approximately to the size of the open bag it is designed to contain. The upwardly projecting elongated tabs are compatible in size with the open portion of the bag handles and each is adapted to engage a handle of the bag in such manner that the bag is held suspended within the apparatus.
