  • Patent number: 4318521
Abstract: The specification discloses an especially designed and built bag frame that comprises a closed loop of tubing having a shaped form about which the open end of a refuse bag of plastic or other flexible material may be stretched and wrapped so as to hold the mouth of the bag open while the user rakes or gathers in grass, leaves, or other refuse. In one embodiment the frame is D-shaped so that the flat side may rest squarely on the ground. In another embodiment the frame includes spikes adjacent the flat side so that the frame may forceably be engaged with the earth so that it will stand alone when the user releases hold thereof; this permits the user to have both hands free for the raking or gathering activity.

  • Patent number: 4316353
Abstract: A bag support and dispensing apparatus having a support shaft for supporting a plurality of stacked bags by engaging each bag in the stack through aligned apertures in the front and rear walls of the bag. A pivotally mounted, extending hanger is positioned opposite the support shaft to engage a front wall of the top-most bag in the stack through an associated aperture in the front wall, so that the bag is supported in an open loading position by the support shaft at the rear wall and the extending hanger at the front wall. The extending hanger may be pivoted forwardly and upwardly to disengage the hanger from the bag and to allow the bag to be easily removed from the bag support apparatus. The hanger falls back to a loading position after it is released.

  • Patent number: 4305558
Abstract: An improved system for supporting a bundle of bags for easy access and loading adjacent the checkout area of a store which includes a first support member adapted to support a bundle of bags that is composed of an elongated substantially horizontally disposed member mounted beneath the countertop of a checkout area so that a substantial portion of said bundle of bags can be out of view beneath the countertop, a second support member adapted to support one handle of a bag, said first and second support members being mounted at a spaced distance apart from each other adjacent the checkout area, which distance generally corresponds to the width of a bag in its open position, the inner ends of said support members having enlarged configurations which serve to hold the opposite handle portions of a bag so that the bag will remain in an open position during a loading operation.

  • Patent number: 4282911
Abstract: A combined hanger and bag. The hanger is substantially triangular and comprises congruent parallel frame members with snap extensions on one member and corresponding openings on the other member so that the two members may be snapped together. A hook is provided for suspending the hanger by one of the frame members. A bag having a corresponding triangular opening is provided with reinforcements having bag openings which may be engaged by the extensions of the frame member which carries the snap extensions. The reinforcing members are also provided with longitudinal beads which are received in recesses located inwardly of the extension. The lower run of the hanger receives a reinforcement that extends directly upwardly from the bag. The other two reinforcements are folded over the outside of the frame which carries the snap extensions so that the openings engage the snap extensions and the longitudinal reinforcement bead engages the recess inwardly of the snap extensions.

  • Patent number: 4175602
Abstract: A frame for holding flexible bags to be opened and filled comprising bendable rods in continuous side frame formations. These side frame formations in one embodiment may be Z-shaped and are spaced with respect to each other and joined together by a telescopic rod at their respective lower foot extremities formed with aligned toed-in or inboard continuations of the foot extremities. The side frame formations at their respective upper top portions are each made with special forwardly extending arms provided with bag storage and holding formations. The bags to be supported on the arms include resilient and flexible material with stiffened portions in the form of an integral zipper around the opposed lip edges of the bag mouth. The relatively thicker lip edges are formed with spaced corner openings to mate with the free ends of the forwardly extending arms of the side frames of the bag support.

  • Patent number: 4146265
Abstract: An adjustable bracket which is adapted to be mounted with screws between the rear side frame elements of a wheelchair for suspending a catheter bag therefrom and which includes a pair of bag stabilizing extensions for preventing the bag from swinging during use. Because the bracket is adjustable in length, it can be made to accommodate wheelchair frames of varying sizes. In an alternative embodiment, the catheter bag support bracket is pivotally attached to only one of the rear side members of the wheelchair so that it may be rotated from a generally horizontal orientation to a vertical orientation when not in use.
