Abstract: The present invention is a lifting device that is useful for loading heavy and bulky objects into a motor vehicle, such as a van or sport utility vehicle. The device comprises a weight support structure having a weight transfer foot that is adapted to removably attach to a roof section of a motor vehicle, such as the rain gutters commonly provided on vans and sport utility vehicles. A hook structure is fixedly attached to the weight transfer foot, by methods common in the industry, such as welding. When the weight transfer foot is attached to the roof section of a motor vehicle the hook structure hangs down below the roof and is available for supporting the heavy object. Chains or cables attached to the heavy object may then be removably attached to the hook structure, allowing the heavy object to be levered up and into the vehicle.

  • Patent number: 6142433
Abstract: The apparatus is a hanger which is supported from the top of a window sash, door, railing, or similar support. The hanger is a box-like beam of relatively thin material which derives its strength from its four sided cross section. Aligned holes in both vertical sides near one end accept a hanging hook. The end opposite from the hole is sealed, and a thin end plane extends above the beam and has a right angle so that the plane extends from the beam in a direction parallel to the beam and away from the end with the hole. The extending portion of the plane has a section removed from the center, so that the extension actually becomes two separated fingers as it extends away from the beam. Installation only requires bending the extending fingers around the top of a window sash to form the end plane into an inverted "U" shape. Closing the window locks the hanger in place, and the bendable end plane allows the hanger to accommodate to any size sash.

  • Patent number: 6062521
Abstract: A generally flat holder for clipping to a user's trousers and holding a towel or other fabric object. The holder has a body including an upper section forming a C-shaped hook forming a first gap between opposing ends of the C, and a lower section comprising a frame forming a central opening encircling an upwardly projecting tab. A U-shaped second gap is defined between the tab and the surrounding portion of the frame. The body is generally rigid, but is sufficiently flexible so that the hook and tab may be deflected to increase their respective gaps. Deflection enables the hook to be slipped over the belt or edge of the trousers of a user, and enables the tab to admit passage of a towel or the like into the central opening of the lower section of the body. The tab is configured to maintain engagement with the towel, but readily releases the towel when deflected by manual pressure such that its respective gap is widened. All edges of the body are beveled.

  • Patent number: 5509632
Abstract: A hook for use with a chain link fence where the hook starts as an L-shaped flat metal element and is formed into an integral piece having a first vertically disposed element integral with a second element which is folded relative to the first element along a fold line of 45 degrees so as to be generally parallel but spaced from the first element. A third element is integral with the first element and is folded to extend away from the first element to form an arm for supporting sports equipment or clothing. The 45 degree fold allows the hook to straddle a wire of the fence. Thus, the hook is simply constructed, elegantly formed and easily used.

  • Patent number: 5183372
Abstract: A service cart transportable in a van or truck is comprised of a vertically oriented pyramid-shaped profile. The pyramid shape offers a high degree of stability, making it virtually impossible to tip over during normal operating conditions, especially during transport. The cart has a fourwheel base. One set of wheels is preferably swivel casters for turning sharp corners. A second set of wheels is larger and located externally of the cart. These wheels increase the base of the pyramid profile and add to the cart's stability. The service cart may be transported to and from a job site. The cart fits into a van or truck bed. To remove the cart from the vehicle, a ramp system is provided. A mechanical or electrical winch may be used to transport the cart into or out of the vehicle.
